I have always had very postive experices American Home Shield. But I still need our ceiling repaired because it was damaged due to the leaking plumbing that was repaired by the plumbing company. He indicated that they do not do the ceiling repair.

Awful company. If I could give no stars I could. Horrible customer service, long wait times, shady contractors, charging unnecessary fees, not honoring conditions of your contract, lack of diversity among said contractors, just to name a few complaints. I placed a service call for my A/C units. The original company they sent to my property tried to charge me three times more for the refrigerant saying we needed 15 pounds for one unit! The unit holds a maximum of five pounds! In addition, the service tech unplugged my other two units as well as poked holes in them to cause leaks. They of course stopped working. I called AHS and told them what I discovered and they tried to charge me another fee. When I requested a second opinion from another company ( per the terms of my contract) the second company said that the repairs the original company suggested would only cause problems two months down the line and that we needed a new unit. AHS refused the second opinion stating that it was the same as the first and tried to charge me which goes against the terms of my contract. There is so much I could say about the horrible customer service I experienced.. but I am so traumatized by this company I will just leave you with a warning. Please find another company. This one is a complete waste of money!

Good experience with the contractor, but AHS still needs some work on their customer service. I conveniently requested my service online on a Sunday. The company referred responded in a reasonable time on Monday, but their first available appointment was on a Saturday (6 days later). They were very pleasant about it, but that was unacceptable to me. I called AHS and waited for over 40 minutes on hold to reach a representative. Once I reached one, she was very pleasant and provided me with a second company that was able to come the next day. So my main complaint is just the long wait time for assistance.

I am very satisfied with the expedient replacement I received for one of my appliances. The repair person did repair my second appliance. However, the third appliance is worst off than before and the repair person could not repair it.

My garbage disposal had not worked for some time, I tried to reset and then a cloud of smoke would fill the cabinet area. I contacted AHS, the technician called to tell me he was enroute during the scheduled time and arrived promptly. They identified themselves, were very professional and quickly resolved the issue.

We had one negative complaint with a provider that was sent to us via AHS. It was a plumbing issue that the person said we had another issue that he fixed but not the issue we had the problem with. We had to call AHS and they got on top of it but that company had to be called several times before finally fixing the original problem. AHS customer service handled our problem and I thank them. Other than that I would give them 4 stars across the board.

Very pleased. From reporting my issue to finalizing my issue the process was went smoothly. I was immediately directed to a service agent who seemed genuinely concerned with my issue and was able to contact serviceman to promptly resolve my problem. What could have been a huge disaster turned into a minor problem thanks to American Home Shield.

i wanted to get my range hood top repaired as it makes too much noise when I turn the fan on, the technician came on 1/1/18 and since then I tried to follow up with the vendor, AMTEC, and nobody has bothered to return my call or even respond to emails. Then I called American Home Shield, after going round and round, I finally got connected to service rep named Antonym (sp?) and he told me that AMTEC's technician who came to my house, had ordered a part and was out, and no one else was able to tell me the status. What vendor has no idea about the status (it should be on the computer, the person seemed to order online), may I ask why or more importantly, has AHS asked them why? Why would the vendor not be able to tell me or AHS, what the status is, why is the part not here for 2 months now, why would AHS keep vendors like AMTEC on their payroll (may I add on my payroll). Yes, I am terribly disappointed. I needed to repair garage door on 25th of December and forgot to call AHS and of course, they denied the claim because I contacted someone else on a Christmas day (as no one else was available). I did understand that, but I don't understand them not contacting me or telling me why my appliance has not been repaired so far.

Last service done was plumbing and had a time replacing the first one (plummer did not do follow up after ordering part to repair my tub fixture). I did receive follow up call from AHS as to how was service and I notified them that the first plummer apparently quit. He was promptly replaced and the 2nd plummer did an excellent job.

No negatives at all. Have used the service many times and I have saved so much more than the premiums. Large ticket items like our HVAC would have destroyed my budget, and thanks to AHS it cost me my deductable plus 90.00 for additional Freon.

I am submitting my review in lieu of my last service request--which was to have my washing machine repaired. AHS sent out three contractors between the months of June July and August and each contractor could not repair my machine. I phoned customer service after each contractor left my home and had to wait at least 20 minutes each time before a representative answered my call. Once I was on he phone he representative could not anwer any of my concerns no manager was available and this resulted in different contractors visiting my home. I emailed AHS to express my concerns about their policy(s) and then a week later someone phoned giving me options on what could be done to resolve my issues involving my un-repaired appliance. Was a really good company for the last 7 years up until now. Needless to say I am looking to cancel my service contract--once this above issue is finally resolved!
