I\'ve been paying for my contract with AHS for quite some time. I moved earlier in the year and contacted the company to change my address. I never had a need to use the service until recently my heat went out. I called to set up service only to find they had NEVER changed my address. I asked what happened, they said they saw my call but noted that I hung up, which was a complete lie. Had they said they forgot, I would have received that better than to say I hung up before everything was taken care of. I was transferred to Jacob, in customer retention who said he had taken care of it, issued a credit, changed the address and set up a service call for the following day. After waiting all day in the cold, I called again only to find out once again, my service was STILL at the old address and Jacob had not even placed the service call. I left him a message for a return call and got nothing. I called back today only to be told again, there was nothing put in the system and the address was still not changed, but a change request was put in and I was charged again for the change of address. This was after I was told it was credit back from the old account due to their error, then I was told I had to wait 48 hours for the address to update then I could call back in and make a service request. All of this in the middle of a cold front we are having. So instead of fixing the issue and making it right for me, they told me to wait in the cold. When I requested to cancel, I was told by the current representative that she could actually see Jacob sitting at his desk and offered to walk over and ask why the task was not completed. Well, this does me no good as I sit in my cold house trying to find a way to keep warm, while they figure out what is going on. I ended up having to call another service company out for the emergency, and it cost me an arm and a leg, exactly what I was trying to avoid by adding a warranty that covered the things in my home in just this such instance. THANKS FOR THE GREAT SERVICE AMERICAN HOME SHIELD AND SPECIAL THANKS TO JACOB IN RETENTION FOR ACTUALLY HELPING TO LOSE THE CUSTOMER HE WAS HOPING TO RETAIN.

I called AHS 5:30 pm on Tuesday because my refrigerator wasn’t working. AHS sent a contractor name and phone number and my appointment was set for the next evening. At 5:15 the contractor didn’t show up so I called him. He said he wouldn’t make it this afternoon and it would be Friday. I immediately called AHS, 5:30 pm Wednesday. I was disconnected from the 1st representative after waiting 30 minutes for her to answer the phone and around a total of 1 hour on the phone. She canceled my contractor and now my request is “in cue” trying to find an available vendor. I called back to a representative who clearly wasn’t interested in my problem and was rude. I called back two other times and was on the phone until 8:30 pm. I was given another contractor to call during business hours the next day to see when they would be available to look at my refrigerator. This company could care less if you get service in a timely manner.

My wife called to set up a repair call for our washing machine on 02/19/2018. The work order was assigned to D&J Appliances (678)770-5471. We did not receive a telephone call back within 24 hrs., as described on our service request Dispatch Number - 445286452 We call D&J Appliances on 2/20/2018, they informed us that they had attempted to call us and had left a voicemail....we did not have a recorded of their call or a voicemail message. We did set up a date and time for D&J Appliances to come repair the washing machine -- Monday, 26 February, 2018 between 2 pm and 6 pm. I came home for the appointment and by 4:30 PM....I had not received a call from D&J Appliances, so I called them. I talked with a lady (Lanise) and I was told that the call out had not been confirmed...it is interesting that she had the same date and times I had for the appointement. It sounded like the same person my wife and I talked to on 2/20/2018. Besides being very rude, I feel as though D&J Appliances is a poor respresentive of AHS. I have been a customer for over 20 years and I have recommended AHS to others. In the future, I would not like to have a company, such as D&J Appliances come to my home for service calls, I would like to stick with a company such as Sears. I am disappointed that I am not credited the service fee I paid for being inconvenienced and having to take off another half day from work to get my appliance repaired. I hope, I do not have to take off third day, if they have to order parts. Sincerely, Steven Johnson

Lowe’s Protection Plans
My riding mower is leaking gasoline. My whole house smells like gas. The store tells me to call the warranty center. Call them, have to listen to 15 different sales pitches, only to have the machine tell me the number for my zip code has changed. Call that number, I don\'t even think it\'s a Lowes number. Call the store back again, they tell me "oh, bring it over, we'll see if it's covered under the warranty." It's a riding mower. How am I supposed to "bring it over?" Can't speak to a person at the warranty center, main customer service center, only people at the store who don't know anything. Absolutely furious with Lowes. If they can't do right by me over this, I'm switching to Home Depot. It's only a couple of miles further away.

It looks like when you make the claim (Water Heater), they have contractors who over-estimate actual cost to defer paying claim. They assigned two different co's and both had outrageous pricing and were completely different..both seem to attach un-needed extras so AHS can deny claim. I called a third party Heating co, and was told that no extras were needed! i:e double tanks and external pipes. All's fine until you make a claim.

Whenever I make a call to AHS for a problem with anything in the home that's under this plan, they assign me to a contractor right away (day or night). AHS is all ways courteous. The phone number is provided so that I may make the arrangements with the contractor that has been assigned for the service. The contractor(s) that are assigned are also courteous, usually bring with them the necessary parts. I have had my refrigerator, and air conditioning serviced and both problems were fixed, and they did not have to come back. I am very glad to have this service.

I have gone back and forth with AHS for some years but this will be my last. I was not informed of an increase from $60 to $75 until I requested a svc call. Not only that I am having to wait a rediculous amt of time for them to return calls or do the repairs on my refrig and air conditioner. I've asked for a mgr to call and that has yet to happen. Sad thing is I have referred about 6 people to them. There goes my good name.
