I am very pleased with my home warranty program through American Home Shield. I have had a total of four requests over the last several years and I have always been satisfied with the contractors provided for me. Each of them has been professional, friendly and efficient.

We are being given the run around. No supervisor to speak with. Difficult to understand representatives who give different information. Saying not normal wear and tear to insulation that has been in the house for 40 + years. HVAC company that they sent out did not actually closely look at the ducts. Looked at from feet away. HVAC company told me to call another HVAC company because they only diagnose...they don't do insulation?????Would give no stars if possible.

Beware poor customer service ( it\'s in possibly to get a rep that know anything about the appliances you own aka Maytag Samsung GE to name the brands I have) and i\'ve been a paying customer for more than 5 year\'s. In those long and I mean long 5 years I\'ve never been late on any of my $54.82 monthly payment. I\'ve even paid for all of the fee for the technician $75 up-front. Witch has no affect on the time a "technician" will be there to "FIX" the known appliance make and model along with the issue.Just to tell you that they don't have it on there van. That the part has to be shipped. Once the refurbished part arrives call AHS. For that to be installed,A new service fee and time window 8a.m. - 5p.m. that's most likely 3 weeks out. For the technician to tell you that the part is the wrong color.... It's obvious that AHS is by far professional ,prompt ,or worth the frustration. a local company to be there the same day the appliance needs repair. Instead 5 months later American Home sheild

Has had this Home Sheild coverage for about three years now and have had to put in service requests about 3-4 times last year. I usually place my requests from the cell phone APP and get notification and conformation # to let me know that the request has been recieved and that the service / tech will respond in a certain ammount of time and I then schedule for my visit on my time. My charge card is on file and my deductible is billed , so there is no request for money from Tech.

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!!!!! Buyer Beware. We have had AHS for 2 years and cancelled today. Cutomer service staff are rude and not helpful. They acutally called my husband a liar after a service technician did not show up. They never cover anything and it is cheaper to hire your own technician to come out. Don't waste your time with this company!!!!!!

First of all i have to say that i have been with AHS for almost nine years,When we first moved into our home we had an issue with our water heater so we called AHS and they sent someone out to replace the water heater with no problems,But i problems happens when I had a problem with my heat pump so again I called andtold AHS of my problem. They responded by sending some fly by night company out to fix it and indeed I thought it was fixed but soon after that we had to call them again and again another company was sent out.I went back and forth with AHS for years paying the service fee each time and then in December of 2009 I came home to no heat so called AHS back and they sent a company called oxford heating and air,OMG was that the biggest problem yet because the ower of the company came out and said you need a new heat pump so I said great no more problems with my heat pump after this, well I was wrong because Oxford heating and heat did put in a new unit but not the same good unit I had and then the work they did putting the unit in was sub standerd work so we had to keep calling oxford back to fix the problems, well after fighting on the phone with the ower of the company of oxford he refused to come and finish the job,So we had to once again call AHS and get someone to fix the problem,Well by this time it was Oct,2012 and when we call AHS they wanted to send once again Oxford Heating and air,we told them that we did not want that company and that it was on a no call list So they sent out another comnpany called Appls comfort and air,This company sent out a tech that knew what he was doing and ordered the part I needed for my unit and in a couple of days it was done,Not only did I get my unit fixed but the company told me that AHS would be refunding my 75.00 service fee,As of today I still have not got the money refunded to me,But that is on AHS and not the service company that fixed my unit.American Home Sheild is out to make money but If they would get contracter that would do the job the first time they would be saving money.I would also like to thank Blane from appliance confort air for his atitude and deication to his job.IF in the furture I ever have any thing go wrong with my heat or air unit again I will not let other company to do the work except appliance comfort and air.

Old Republic Home Protection
MARCH 2004, I purchased my home in an international city, I have used Old Republic Home Warranty, and would highly recommend this company. The first year July 2004, my A/C went out the repairman came out the same day, the A/C Unit was repaired and at that time all I paid was $45.00. I have an in the ground pool another year the hail fired aginst the pool liner- like a machine gun. Immediately, I was on the phone with Old Rpublic. They did not have a contractor, so I was allowed to call one of my choice and they covered everything except my $55.00. Over the years I have called on different things and I have been talked through how to check my garbage disposal which started work immediately. They actually saved me $65.00, I didn't need a repairman. The only problem I see is my deductible continues to increase, it's like they are trying to force me into not renewing my contract with them...But I like the security of having them as close as my phone. Thanks Old Republic for being there when I need you!

American Home Shield (AHS)
I have never had a worst experience than my dealing with American Home Shield. I had this policy for several years before I ever made a claim. My first claim was due to our daylight basement toilet backing up. When I say backing up, I mean it flooded the whole den next to the bathroom. I called American Home Shield and they did not get anyone to my home for 5 days even though this clearly was an emergency. None of the other bathrooms in the house could be used due to the problems with this one. Once a technician showed up he only walked into the bathroom, looked at the toilet and stated he needed a "pneumatic snake" to fix it and he took my service charge payments and said he would be back the next day. At 4 pm the next day I called AHS again. They said the technician didn't have the equipment necessary and they would send someone else. That took another day. At this point we were 7 days of having to shower at a family member's house across town and using the local convenience store's bathroom. The next technician came, ran a regular snake and fixed the problem in less than 10 minutes. I asked if I needed to pay another service fee and he said no. Two weeks later I got an invoice for the second service call. I called AHS and they said it was sent by mistake and credited it. The second incident was when the kitchen sink backed up and garbage disposal quit working. I called AHS again and it took them 3 days to get someone to my house. That technician looks at the sink and underneath. We then went under the house to look at the pipes. I went with him as we have a walk space not a crawl space. He looked at some pipes and we returned to the kitchen. He told me that he couldn't fix the garbage disposal because he didn't have the right parts with him. He took my service fee and said he would be back the next day. (I was beginning to see a pattern here.) Well, the next day came and went with no technician. I called AHS again. The person there told me the technician reported that he ran a snake for 100 feet and did not find a blockage so since it was over 100 from the house, the warranty didn't cover it. She also told me that he reported my garbage disposal was improperly installed so therefore they wouldn't cover that either. I told her he lied in his reports that he never ran a snake and that my garbage disposal worked fine for 7 years so I am quit sure it was properly installed. I requested another technician. That technician came, ran a snake an hit a blockage that indicated the pipe had collapsed. He showed my son where and how to fix the pipe, saving me $500. He then replaced my garbage disposal and said he couldn't see where it was improperly installed. He was very helpful and obviously knew what he was doing, unlike the previous technician. I asked if I had to pay another service fee and he said no. Two weeks later, I received a bill from AHS for a service fee for the second technician. (Another pattern) I called again. This time I was told that since I disputed the first service call I was required to pay the second one. I said the first guy lied about everything and I wasn't paying the fee. The lady got very rude and condescending with me saying "I know no one wants to pay two service fees but $60 wasn't that much..." at which point I stopped her. I informed her that the $60 wasn't the issue, I had $60. The issue was the technician lied and it was the principle of the matter, not the money. She continued being rude, I continued to tell her I was not going to pay it until she lost her temper with me and said they would take care of the service fee. I have cancelled my contract with them. They do not have timely service, they send unqualified technicians before sending qualified ones, they try to rip you off on service fees and their customer service reps are rude and unhelpful.
