This company will let you sweat it out if your air conditioner breaks. I called Tuesday and as of Thursday I have nothing scheduled though it is supposed to get up to almost 90 degree today. If I called a regular air conditioning company, they would get someone out the same day. The customer service people refused to let me talk to a manager, hung up on me, and one actually had the audacity to laugh at me! They are very hard to reach, sometimes impossible. My advise is to steer clear of this company.

Financially, it\'s a good thing to have. But it may take a lot of time and steps to get something done. For instance, if you have a leaky pipe, don\'t expect a handyman to come out and fix it all in one swoop. Instead, expect several busy specialist who are sometimes difficult to get a hold of to come out and take turns to get it done. We had a leaky pipe that went down to our neighbor downstairs. 1) Even though it's my pipe, AHS won't cover anything in my neighbor's unit, which means that the damage done in it came out of my pocket (and I have the best package available). 2) The plumber was happy to cut a hole in my neighbor's ceiling, but because he's "just a plumber", he said he couldn't fix the hole he just put in there. So I need to file a claim with my insurance to get that fixed (because AHS won't cover that, since it's not in my unit). 3) If there's a vanity/sink in front of the wall that the plumber needs to get to, he won't move it - I had to find somebody else to help me move it, then reschedule a time (2 weeks later) for the plumber to come in and finally do the work. In other words, if the wall's not easily accessible, then he can't do the work until it is. 4) Once the plumber finished, AHS needed to send a drywall guy out to fix the holes that the plumber made (covered in original claim though). 5) To get to the hole behind the toilet, the drywall guy had to remove the toilet, but his contract with AHS wouldn't allow him to put it back. 6) Again, nobody will put back the vanity, so I get to figure out how to do that and re-hook up the sink (shouldn't be hard, right?) So, if AHS had sent a handyman who could've done everything, we'd have been able to use our bathroom again in a couple days. But instead, they sent several different people to do their specialties. Don't get me wrong, they're all very qualified specialists and each did great work. It's just that, almost 2 months later, we still can't use our bathroom. So, though we paid about $450 out of pocket (for the plumber to do work that reached to my downstairs neighbor's unit) and a one-time $125 deductible to AHS (and I'm also paying about $45/month), I understand it all would've cost at least twice as much more (even just to get the guys out there, before doing any work) if we didn't have AHS. So if you don't mind working with all those speed bumps, then AHS is a good thing to have.

Our service representative was very courteous, informative and helpful. He was exremely efficient and well-versed in what he was doing. He had to replace our hot water heater and did an excellent job. He made sure that everything was done far above code and wen to a lot of extra work to be sure the work was done properly.

The speed of which my service calls were handled was excellent. The contractors were professional and pleasant. They explained step by step to make sure I understood what went wrong with my washer and what may or may not have caused the problem. I was given an exact time frame as to when to expect the ordered part and it was delivered accordingly. I was very pleased.

My ice maker wasn't worker. Service provider came and said a panel needed replaced. He returned and replaced it but ice maker still didn't work. A man from Sears repair came and said the whole freezer door needed replaced. Approved by AHS but the part not available and needed to be made at a cost >$1000 and may take up to 2 months for it to come. AHS gave me the option of getting a new refrigerator and they would reimburse me, which I did. I sent the receipt to AHS and about 1 week later received a letter stating that since I didn't send a receipt, the new refrigerator would not be covered. I received a check promptly and resent the receipt. I am hoping that they received that as I got no confirmation on it. Overall, I was pleased with the service and would recommend AHS. All of the providers were very professional and friendly and would also recommend them.

AHS has been very responsive to repair requests. I usually receive a phone call from the contractor within 24 hours and the issue is typically resolved after the first visit. If something requires replacing, the contractor calls AHS for approval. In my experience, there has never been a time when AHS did not approve of the repair and cover the cost 100%.
