Used our home warranty for a spring tune up of the AC, also got the external tubing reinsulated. All was covered by our copayment and AHS connected us with a great professional repair company. It was an excellent experience.

Received warranty from seller. Put service request in when washing machine stopped working and I had some issues with my oven. Tough to really pass along all the hassle and hours I spent holding on the phone to get them to honor their warranty without writing a short novel. Bottom line, they were able to contribute to about half the cost of a new washing machine and make the needed repairs to my oven. However, I had to invest hours of my time trying to reach them on the phone and go for weeks without a working washing machine. In addition, I now see that that they have duplicated their request for an additional $75 service call for the repair, so looks like I will be spending a few more hours on the phone today to get this resolved.

They are the worst company to deal with and not very accessible. Their phone system is a joke and they do have enough operator so you have to wait 20 minutes to talk to someone. When you tell them they are not handling something right they just hang up on you. My refrigerator went along with ice maker. They are ordering a new ice maker without dealing with the refrigerator which has a blown compressor.

Recently with my A/C problems I am very pleased with the timeliness and Service. First problem was a condenser over flow problem and was handled very professionally. The second problem just days later was the A/C fan quit working and I was told 3 or 4 days at the earliest to get someone out to the site. In Southern Louisiana in the summer and our heat and humidity this really would have been a long uncomfortable wait. I requested a quicker response and the same day I was contacted by the A/C contractor and asked if I could live with them showing up between 6 and 8 p.m. I told them sure and that same day they showed up and cleaned and replaced the A/C fan. Picture me cool and very pleased. This kind of response has not always be the the norm. In the passed I and AHS had some problems getting a repair man and a repair to a dryer with went on for several weeks. I finally just bought a new dryer and AHS did pony up some money towards the dryer siting that a replacement part was being ordered but it would take 1 or 2 months to get the part. That is unacceptable to be without a dryer and so they only gave me what the part and labor would have cost rather than full replacement cost of the dryer. I felt somewhat dissatisfied with the final result of that particular transaction but overall my other problems have been taken care of relatively well.

I just replaced a microwave. Yet to receive. The process was god but I did not know AHS did not match Color, Features or Brand. We had a high end Kitchen Aid and we were offered a much lower featured GE. We had to come out of pocket several hundred dollars to cover the unit we wanted. The price they offered was better than buying it from a retailer and installation is free. Not terrible but no what we expected for paying over $600.00 a year and never replacing a major appliance in the 4 years we have had the policy. Customer service is always nice and friendly.

HORRIBLE!!!! they hire second rate companies. i had to have a toilet replaced and the plumbing company did not install the tiolet correctly. so the next morning i woke up to a flooded bathroom, and all but one room damaged by water. i had to use my homeowners.... floors had to be ripped up, the dry team came in, and had to have new floors replaced. all under MY insurance because this crap company or the the crap plumbing company would not take responsibility. so when i purchased my new home, i was rejected by home owners insurance companies because I had a claim on my past policy. would not pay $1 a year for this company

The representatives are usually friendly when I contact them. I had American Home Shield for about eight years. For five years, I never used the warranty, and paid for it. For the last two years, I have used the service for things that began to break around the house. Since I have been actually using the service I pay for, they sent me a letter stating that they will not renew me once my contract ends. I called them, and they basically said I was a "liability" and they were not renewing me because I used their services often. Don't waste your money, because they only want you to pay them.
