Worst experience I\'ve ever had with a home warranty. Frigidaire Refrigerator broken and they refused to fix or replace. Customer service obviously in India who refused to move claim to further management. Local repair company working with AHS to avoid claim. Disgusting!

Even though "toilet" is explicitly listed under "Covered Items" in my contract, AHS refused to recognize it as a "Covered Item." Their reasoning - damage was not "normal wear and tear." I guess they\'re calling it an improper use of toilet. Yes, it sounds ridiculous. Yes, it is a true story.

This is a terrible company, as I write this I am sitting on hold - endlessly waiting to just speak with a representative. The web site is set up to be easy for the company but a pain for the customer. The service people are generally not very good quality and the payments always get messed up and lead to hours of time on hold with companies to get it straighten out. I am sure over all it would be much better to just pay as things come up and forge relationships with the best service providers in the area. Which is my new policy, as soon as I can successfully talk to someone at American home shield who will allow me to cancel my policy. Time to write another review of American Home shield while I wait for them to answer their phone:)

Oh my gosh, Love American Home Shield. I had a new heat pump installed by the oil burner company and it never worked correctly. It took years for them coming out and fixing it. After the warranty was over, the coils were broken and it never worked. It was running in backup mode costing a fortune. American Home Shield came out and put in a new, Wonderful working heat pump in the house. They are the best, professional and helpful company. I have a home warranty on all my homes. Their contractors resolve the problems and get them fixed right away. The did a wonderful job, no mess, cleaned up everything, and make it better than before.

I have used AHS for my home and my rental townhouse for many years. I also used AHS on rental condo I sold. The condo they replaced the water heater and refrigerator under the warranty with no problems. I have never had a problem with AHS repairing items. They will make every effort to repair before replacing the item. In our home they have replaced the water heater under warranty. Beware there are always extra charges from the Plummer to bring things up to codes. All other items I have not been charged extra. I just wanted to make this review after reading all the negative ones.

AHS Home Warranty is awful. If I could give them zero stars I would. The customer service is terrible. I have called them 3 times this month to find out if a prolbem i was having with my heating system is covered or not. The customer service person Stephanie did nothing but tell what was NOT her job to do. The company that came out to look at/fix my heating issue has not gotten in contact with AHS and AHS has not followed thru with having them reply. AHS called them but did not speak to the person who came to my house. I still after two weeks dont have an answer and not one perosn at AHS or at the company that came out is doing anything to resolve this. I DO NOT RECOMMED THEM TO ANYONE!
