The W***** r*********** Technician was on time, professional and knowledgeable. I appreciate how quickly he resolve the my leaking refrigerator. He came out first to assess the problem. Next he order the part and came back to install the part. After the completion of his work he gave me the chance to sweep and mop behind the refrigerator

The refrigerator side of my 22 year old G* side by side was not cooling, the freezer was ok. I contacted AHS and received a message that W***** R************ would be contacting me to make an appointment or I could call them. I called them, they had not received the notice from AHS but said they would be out the next day between 12 and 4. W****** arrived around 1:00 pm the next day. He was excellent. He was most knowledgeable, professional and instantly diagnosed the problem with the refrigerator just by opening the freezer door, looking inside (frost on the back panel of the freezer). He then called the parts supplier giving the part number without even having to look it up. He ordered the part and told me he would be back the next afternoon. The next day he called me around noon saying he had the part and was on his way. He replaced the part on the freezer in 15 mins and was on his way. I could not ask for better service.

Just stay away from this company. It is just money, time & effort wasted down a clogged drain. For one they are very slow to respond with a repair fix and the technicians they send over have no clue as to the issue (probably are trying to learn on the job) leading to wasted time and heartburn. If only I could give them a negative rating, I would, but the least I can give them here is a 1*

It’s been over a month and I still don’t have a working dishwasher. AHS does not care that their contractor cannot be contacted.

In an attempt to cancel my contract, I tried the AHS cancellation number provided on the website several times in December 16,2018 and after holding for several minutes on several different calls, I went to facebook messenger and the person attending it chatted back to say that the payment method was removed and cancellation was request was made. They do not provide an email address to use to do the cancellation. It is phone only and since I could not reach them, I used thus option. The AHS facebook admin confirmed the cancellation request was put in. But, yesterday, AHS sends me an email saying that I am delinquent and the payment method needs to be updated. I have been calling them for many times and I am on hold but cannot speak to anyone. So, I went to facebook messaging yesterday, January 8th to check on why my contract is still showing as active. The person attending apologized for the late cancellation, took my phone and property address and a day later nothing. In the meantime, I am calling the number given to cancel but still cannot get anyone on the line, or leave a message. Extremely poor customer service. They need to make people available to answer calls if phone is the only way to do it. I hope some one in AHS actually sees this and take action to cancel it that has been pending since Dec 2018.

HVAC system has not worked in my rental property for months now. We had a contractor show up and found a leak. He suggested that we either buy a brand new unit that they would install ($5,000 - $8,000) or inject coolant for $700.00. We chose to go with a cheaper option. My tenant complained again that it was not cooling. The same offer was made again. I asked the contractor why the A/C will not be replaced. He said AHS will not allow it. They want us to fix it. Well, it is not getting fixed. A/C is NOT working. Each time you call AHS, you sit on the phone for hours. They never have the staff to take care of their customers. I think it is time for them to fold.

American Home Shield (AHS)
I\'ve had American Home Shield (AHS) for one property for 17 years and for a 2nd property for 8 years. There have of course been difficult times with them but overall they were ok. For the last couple years there have been more and more problems until todays which is the straw that broke the camels back for me. I have a slow water leak at a rental townhouse property I own. Opened a service request with AHS on Jan 2nd and paid the $75 co-pay on line at the same time so my tenants would not have to pay. Order was issued to a plumbing company to fix and Jan 5th set as the date. The company came and left without fixing the problem. It was on a water filter and they had to order the part. Were to come back yesterday Jan 9, 2018. They did not return, no call from the plumbing company or AHS to either myself or tenant. I called AHS t 11:19am today Jan 10th. Was on hold until 11:37am. During the hold period, I contacted the plumbing company who said the leak was in the water filter and they needed approval from AHS before fixing it and had been trying to contact AHS for that approval since the 5th but endless holds with no answer. Just yesterday Jan 9th evening 5pm, they sent AHS an email request. I ask how long until we could expect an answer. She did not know...never had to do that before. I talked to Bobby (a female voice) at AHS at 11:37am finally and was advised they did have the email request from the plumber and had sent them approval to replace the water filter. That she would make contact with the plumber to make sure they had that authorization and would call me back later today. Well, at 12:10pm a man called from AHS approval department (I was walking my dog and forget the actual name of the department and his name, but he said it was not covered. I told him that Bobby had said it was. He insisted it was not. I called the plumbing company to see what they'd charge to fix it if I just paid. They were not sure they could. I reminded them they had ask for approval to do the work from AHS and if they had ask for approval, they must have thought they could do it. She said she'd check and call back. She never called back so I called her back. We went around a bit. She saying they were not even sure where to get a replacement. I said Lowes and referred her to the web page...she found it but talked things like having to order it, have it shipped to them, mark it up etc and then it sounded like in a week or so go fix it. Never gave me a specific price but in the $250 range, but they clearly did not want to do it. I said to forget it for now. I called Renee at AHS back at 3:46pm and again after being on hold waiting for a long time, she answered. I went over everything again with Renee and requested my $75 be put back on my credit card. After she said she was working on it endlessly, the phone went back to their "on hold music" and a auto voice message saying my call would be answered by the next representative. I had sent an on going chain of emails to AHS's customer service department and sent them another at this time about what was going on (never a response to any throughout the day). Then I finally went on line on my credit card and disputed the $75 charge which took a little doing. Still on hold with AHS for the 3rd time today, I finally hung up and send them a final email saying I'd let the bank handle getting my $75 back. I will not renew any of my AHS contracts. Like I said, it's been going like this more often than not for the last 2 years or more...problem after problem with each service request. If I could leave no stars checked I would. I'll note to that while going through this experience with AHS that I read the contract as to what was covered and what was not for plumbing. There were a list of Covered Items and a list of Not Covered. My problem water filter was not on either list. This is what the Better Business Bureau has on AHS: American Home Shield...1,270 Negative reviews and only 32 positive. 9,680 total customer complaints. BBB ACCREDITATION SINCE 05/01/1997 B BBB Rating System Overview Customer Review Rating: 96% [32] Positive Reviews [19] Neutral Reviews [1,270] Negative Reviews [1,321] Total Customer Reviews [9,680] Total Customer Complaints Composite Score: American Home Shield has received 2.83 out of 5 stars based on 1,321 Customer Reviews and a BBB Rating of B.

Maryland man bound to shatter Guinness World Record for accumulating dirty dishes still going strong at 78 days, supported by American Home Shield. A Maryland man is absolutely beside himself as he involuntarily strides towards shattering the Guinness World Record for the number of days a dish has not been washed in his household. You see, Mr. Burman, has not been able to utilize his dishwasher for 78 days due to the dismal service of the American Home Shield Corporation. Tearing up, Mr. Burman relays how his dishwasher went catatonic on February 1st. At the time, he had no idea of the calamity that had befallen him. He thought a call to American Home Shield would resolve his woes, just like in their sales pitch. Alas, despite logging a call on February 2nd, having a contractor visit his home and paying the $75 call out fee, Mr. Burman is still waiting for the part and service that were supposed to take no more than 10 days. Mr. Burman is neither slovenly nor lazy. Rather, he finds that he hasn't the time to wash the dishes as waiting on hold for both American Home Shield and their contractor of choice consumes windows of 30-45 minutes at a time. Despite numerous promises to revive his beloved dishwasher, each of these calls has amounted to naught. Mr. Burman now faces the grave danger of running out of plates. He has a short term solution as he intends to use pages of his American Home Shield contract as plates. He says that having spent several hundred dollars on a product that is clearly of no value, he may as well extract some measly compensation putting the pages of the contract to some use. The soap dispenser on dishwasher stopped working in 1/16 and GE service person broke a part that can't be replaced so DW is worthless. AHS refuses to resolve issue and says GE hasn't provided detailed diagnosis. So we are without a DW for 2 1/2 months while AHS tries to get report from GE. No supervisor will return numerous calls and we remain in limbo. AHS is a bureaucratic, disorganized company in which customer relations shifts burden to Authorization dept. who shifts to Research who shifts to Contractor Relations. But nothing gets done. If AHS is supposed to be one of the best in the field, I shutter to have to deal with the others. Seeking help from Maryland Insurance Commission. AHS should be ashamed of itself!!

The contractor (Cote's Mechanical) was fantastic! The first diagnosis was a defective circuit board, which they replaced within one day. After that, a defective roll-out switch kept the furnace from working. After that was fixed, the furnace eventually failed yet again. This time, the cause determined to be a cracked heat ex-changer, which required en entire furnace replacement. The installers were very thorough, very conscientious and very clean. The service area and entire house was left spotless. / / Throughout the entire process, the contractor kept us informed as to when the repairs would be made and the progress of parts that had to be ordered. They were VERY professional throughout the entire process. / / I happy to report the the new furnace is working perfectly and we are VERY pleased with the entire process. /

We last called a technician to a problem with our central heating boiler, the tech arrived in a timely manner was well presented and diagnosed the problem quickly. A part needed to be order which did take several days to arrive, in the mean time I did go out and purchase some electric heaters for the downstairs. / All in all the boiler was down for about three weeks but parts take time and I have no real complaints, since this repair the boiler has worked flawlessly.

This is the worst customer service company ever and I have decided that social media is the only way to resolve my problem. I have a VETERAN OF THE IRAQ WAR and his family living in my rental house and they have been without a washing machine for almost two weeks because of this company. I received an email on July 9th (almost four weeks before the Iraq vet and family moved in) saying that AHS had reached the decision that my washing machine needed to be replaced and based on multiple communications from me, AHS had identified the washer that they were willing to replace it with. Unfortunately, this was not sufficient, and after multiple calls to AHS and multiple hours of my time and the time of my property manager, they committed to having the appliance company they use install the washing machine this past Monday. After more multiple calls and transfers to multiple departments at AHS on August 5th and 6th, they committed to installing the washing machine this past Monday August 12th. Without any communication, AHS never installed the machine. I called again today and was told by the 7th person in a week I spoke to that AHS had never ordered my washing machine and that I would have to wait another 5-7 business days for the washing maching to be delivered and installed. This is despicable service! I don't even know what to tell the Iraq vet and his family when I call them tomorrow.
