The service that we were given was excellent. The serviceman was cordial and pleasant and did everything asked of him. The air conditioning is working very well and my house gets very cold. Only thing, the unit is making a slight shaking noise, but it is very mild and goes away after an hour of the unit running.

I\'m totally satisfied with the American Home Shield warranty. I would recommend this company to my friends and relatives to save the headache of trying to beg a friend or search for a contractor to make repairs to your home.

AHS for almost 3 years. When placing a claim, AHS charged $100. Call back was to be within 24 hours, which didn\'t happen and I had to follow up. One claim was for cooling system and the other one for the washer. Technician issued an astronomical charge to repair cooling system and I decided to take cash out and find my own repairman. The washer wasn't worth repairing, so I was given the cash for replacement. My biggest concern, was AHS increasing my monthly premium, after a year of no claims filed, from 49.99 to 72.00, without any notice whatsoever. My attempt to contact them was aggravating, being placed on hold, transferred from one department to another, being disconnected, and so on. After 3 days I decided to cancel my contract and was harassed by the agent, trying to sell me on a different plan. Then I was told that would incur a cancellation fee (which I had to pay in order to cancel) and then I was charged for another monthly premium. UNBELIEVABLE!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!

American Home Shield (AHS) made a true believer out of me! My refrigerator, dishwasher, and washing machine stopped working properly at the same time. My refrigerator was replaced within 2 weeks, the washing machine required an ordered part and was fixed within two weeks (its working again like brand new), and the dishwasher was fixed within three days, which included the weekend. I am sold on AHS for the rest of my life!!!!!! Previously, I was a member of another home warranty company for over 15 years with 3 memberships, which included residential and rental properties, and was skeptical about changing over. However, based on the hassle I experienced in having an item replaced, that company had me so angry and frustrated. Thank God, my properties are now in the hands of AHS!!!!!!!

I had no idea that my leaky faucet and attached water sprayer would be repaired in such a timely manner. My experiences with other Home Warranty Service providers has been very poor. I was really skeptical when I signed up with American Home Shield (AHS) but decided to give it a try. I am totally excited with its customer service, repair in a timely manner, and professional expertise. Thanks AHS ... looking forward to years of being a satisfied customer.

I called for A/C service request....the process of scheduling the appointment was quick and painless, the technician came out EARLY, the issue was found in just a few minutes. It was amazing how he found two small holes in my A/C system line.!! VERY happy with our home warranty, their contractors and American Home Shield!

I have been a customer of AHS since 2013 and must say that this company is top notch as far as home warranty companies. I have used them on 3 separate occasions and each time they handled the service claims professionally and promptly and followed up on each occasion. Great job AHS.

My water heater broke on the 19th. AHS had someone out to look at it on the 20th which was incredible. Though my experience afterwards was far less than incredible. The gentleman who didn\'t even touch my water heater determined my break was due to not having a PRV installed on my home. I was not at that moment very educated in this topic so I denied the NOT COVERED 1000$ repair and decided to educate myself. After speaking to an AHS rep I understood why they would not cover the fix based on that man's opinion, though I felt his opinion was merely a way to get me to pay for more than I needed to...as my home has never had this PRV and my gas water heater is over 10 years old (normal life is 8 to 11 years). So a 2nd opinion Plummer was requested on the 21st. I called the Plummer the 22nd. He said he would be out that day or th3me next. The 23rd rolled around with no word from him. Seeing as it was almost Christmas now and id been without hot water for 4 days I called the 1st Plummer in the phone book. I expressed my dissatisfaction to AHS. They in turn stated to provide my plummers diagnosis and receipt to possibly reimburse the service. My plummers diagnosis was thst it was clearly not due to water pressure. He stated installing a PRV would be a waste, as my water heater has outlived most water heaters and the piece that broke was rusted and old. His diagnosis was old age wear and tear...Likely because the home was not lived in for 6 months before I purchased it. I however requested a quote for this PRV because I am afraid AHS won't cover any water related items in my home if I don't have it...even though it appears my home has never had it and does not need it. I provided this documentation to AHS. They still denied to reimburse the service. They stated well it looks like on the invoice he provided a quote for a PRV. So we are denying it based on what out first Plummer stated. Water pressure and no PRV. I THEN provided a letter from my Plummer that clearly stated they misinterpreted the invoice and the Plummer didn't recommend a PRV the break was due to rust and wear and tear. They still denied it. Literally the worst customer service I have ever experience. Terribly disappointed and this was my first time using them...and likely my last. This is fraud. Flat out

I write this because 2 months after hiring AHS, they have yet to take my payment. I\'ve called 7 times, on hold for over 36 mins, only to be disconnected. I\'ve spoken with 4 different people who "updated" my payment method, but 1) never processed it, and 2) subsequent people couldn\'t see the update. I\'ve updated online (which evidently doesn't work until 1st pay is processed) with 3 different FOPs, and yet again, 2 months after hiring them, am told the same payment method must be updated and will take ANOTHER 3 days to process. But they can't see the previous updates. If this is indicative of their service, I'm not sure why I'm pursuing this. No email, sporadic chat, (which doesn't solve anything) or I can write to them. But with no account initiated there are no policy docs, guess what? Gotta call...

I received a prompt call from the contractor and was able to schedule a Saturday appointment which is very important to me. Contractor showed up on time, was clean, and didn't waste any time diagnosing the problem and making repair recommendations.

American Home provided quick and adequate service through the on-line work request service. The response and cleanliness by the contractor shows the professional, personal and caring consideration American Home Shield has for its customers. The most important thig that comes to mind is "American Home Shield's Customer's Satisfaction comes FIRST".

On the recommendation of a friend I bought into the idea of purchasing a warranty from American Home Shield. After paying the monthly fee for many months without needing the service, my air conditioning would not push out cold air. I called AHS and received a confirmation number for a technician to service my unit. 24 hours later I had not heard for the technician. I called the tech and he informed me that he had conveyed to AHS that he was not taking any more customers at this time (On Hold). I called AHS and was placed on hold for 15 minutes before a rep serviced my call. I was told that they would contact the contractor to find out why he will not be able to service my call and that they would call me back within the hour. Three hours later I call AHS back, because no one returned my call. This time it took 10 minutes for the rep to service my call. The rep insisted that their policy is to wait until the contractor calls them back to confirm that he could not service my call, before assigning me a new technican. I called for service on a Wednesday and because the contractor has not returned their call, I will have to spend the weekend without a working air conditioner. I asked to speak with a supervisor, but rep would not let me speak to a supervisor. AHS customer service and policies are unacceptable and are not in the best interest of their customers.

When we called for service, they were pretty fast about having someone come out. However, it was 3 incidents that made me decide to look for another company: 1. They charge based on the size of the house versus the systems and appliances. The fact that my house is over 5K sq feet, does not impact that my refrigerator breaks down or oven does not work. I can see charging for the additional units but now size. 2. On one incident, the repair person diagnosed a problem prior to going in the house, when actually, it did not make sense. they claimed my pipe busted during the winter when it was late July or August and did not leak before then. If in fact, the pipe burst during the winter, why did it take 4 months to leak in my basement. 3. After a service call, the appliance was still not working properly, nor did he submit the complete ticket. We called them multiple time and they continued to send the information to the same company. Months later I was told it would be submitted to the another vendor.

Failure to renew contract because deemed unprofitable for company! I recently received a letter from American Home Shield (AHS) stating that my contract will not be renewed and that any solicitations that I have received regarding renewal are no longer valid. No explanation given for this. So, I called AHS to inquire about the reason. I was told that my contract was deemed unprofitable to the business. AHS explained that their cost incurred and received off my policy is not profitable for them. it was also explained that AHS reviews contracts and determines profitability based on some ratio untold to me. I am outraged that they are not renewing my contract because I utilize their services for legitimate repairs that they cover. I have been with AHS since 2009 and have made all of my monthly payments on time by automatic electronic funds withdrawal. I have utilized AHS' services within the purview of my contract. I feel that AHS should be more transparent and truthful with their customers and disclose, up front, the limitations that they place on their contracts to their customers. I believe that because AHS has had to replace certain items in my home because they could no longer patch them up, I am being penalized for using a service that I have paid for and a service that they say they provide. This type of unfair business practice should be stopped. I feel that I have upheld my end of the contract by paying my monthly payments on time and service fees and that AHS should do the same.

AHS is easy to contact, they respond quickly, the service providers are competent and courteous, and repair or replacement items are quickly addressed and approved. First time was my garbage disposal and 2nd time was my garage door opener. Both times it had be be replaced. It was replaced with a better one than I had before. I am very happy with this company! I would highly recommend it!

The drain line to my condensation pump needed capped off, my claim was transferred to a HVAC company because it was not a plumbing issue as I originally thought. The HVAC technician came the very next day and was lost as last years Easter egg. He checked the pump drain line from the basement and determined it was clogged which was impossible because there was no one outside to verify if there was airflow. Once he went outside to check the airflow, I was inside to verify that the line was not clogged. Instead of replacing the line or checked the pump he wanted to cut through the ceiling in the basement to run the drain line to the washer and dryer drain. There is a 4 inch space behind the wall which would have been a better option. After speaking with the HVAC supervisor the technician left and was supposed to contact AHS to get authorization for the work. AHS approved the line replacement. I never heard from the HVAC company because I would not let them cut through the ceiling. My experience with the contractors that come out fix issues are they always try to add charges to the claim which the warranty doesn't cover. AHS is not the only warranty company that uses these bums but when a company has repeated complaints about services provided AHS should cancel any contract with the contractor. I issue was solved by replacing the condensation pump and reconnecting the drainage line. I paid $135.00 out of my pocket and have submitted a reimbursement claim.
