We have owned our home for two years now. Our home is 32 years old. We keep American Home Shield because of the confidence we have in getting major problems taken care of through AHS.

STAY AWAY. I paid my deductible on August 21st for my broken AC unit. It\'s October 9th and it\'s still broken. I spend an hour on hold trying to call and get help, only to be told nobody can help me because it\'s always someone else\'s fault. I can\'t have a refund because "they don\'t give refunds" and I\'d have to pay a cancellation fee to end my contract. Apparently, the contract is only one sided -- I have to pay my monthly payment. They don't have to hold up their end of the bargain. HORRIBLE customer service, absolutely terrible experience with this company. Looks like thousands of other people agree. Run, far away. I'm going back to 2-10 Home Warranty, when my basement flooded, they were there and had it fixed within the DAY. That's how you run a company. Shame on you, AHS.

I have been trying for the past month to reach someone/anyone at American Home Shield to schedule an appointment for repair. Their online appointment has not worked and directs me to check back to schedule. It continues to not work. When trying to call (several times), I have waited over an hour for someone to schedule a repair appointment and finally gave up. Very frustrating. Why have this insurance policy if you cannot reach anyone to schedule service!!!

Heat pump went out first of May 2017, took over a month to get a replacement installed and I had to cover over $1000 in items not covered by AHS. Parts not found for old HVAC and then a couple of weeks before the installer got the new unit in, then they had the wrong coil and another week to ge the right one. Not sure where the breakdown happened, AHS or the installer, but I thank God it was not as hot as it could have been. When the new unit finally arrived with the correct coil the unit ws installed in a little over 3 hours. Overall AHS is a great company but the cost keeps going up.

If I could give zero stars, I would. My stove downdraft system has been broken for over a month. AHS sent a technician back in early March for which I paid a $75 service fee. It is now April 24, and my stove is still broken. First, they tried to reject the claim because they thought it was a separate venting system, but the downdraft system is an inherent part of the stove, and they said that it was indeed covered after a phone call from me. Since the technician's visit in early March, I have called them multiple times, and they said the technician needs to provide them with a "part number." However, I spoke to their technician, and he said there is either no part number, or it is inaccessible, or otherwise unavailable. I need it fixed or replaced. That is what the warranty is for. I asked that a supervisor call me back about the delay, and I am still awaiting a phone call. How long can a covered household be without the use of a stove? Please ask that AHS do their job. If the part is not available or cannot be replaced (per their own technician), then they need to replace the stove ASAP!!

I want low hassle experiences. I appreciated that I only had to make one call, the contractor contacted me as promised, came out as promised, did a thorough job and was extremely courteous. In, out, done. Me liked.

Customer service was friendly and very happy to help. The technician sent out was knowledgable and was able to repair our appliances and the issues have not reoccurred. It was a pleasure to deal with everyone involved.
