American Home Shield (AHS)
American Home Shield is one of the worst home warranty companies I have used. Their contractors are con artists. When our A/C was running but running 10 degrees hotter then what it was set too. I called AHS and they sent out A-1 Pro heating and air who told me my Evap Coil was damaged and leaked out all my freon after several days and Phone calls to both AHS and A-1. I finally got the quote it fix my A/C $1000 out of pocket but A-1 Pro heating and air refused to fix the problem unless i replaced the condenser as well which was not covered for another $3000. I got a second option out of my own pocket and discovered that i was only 2lbs light on freon. I called AHS and told them I wanted to use the new trust worthy contractor who used to work for AHS but quit after they old him to refuse payment on pretty much everything. AHS said they couldn’t use him and wanted to send out a new contractor but after how I was treated with their first contractor I wasn’t about to trust anyone else they sent on top of having to wait another week for anything to get done, so I chose the cash out option to get paid the money to have the work done myself. Two weeks later I check on the status of my cash out option and A-1 Pro heating told AHS they misquoted my A/C and it did just need freon canceling out my cash out option and nobody bothered to tell me or send someone out to put in the freon. I told the company I wanted to cancel my contract and get a refund. They told me the Retention department would be in touch and no one ever called me back. A week later I called them and after being on hold for 30 minutes I discover that they had canceled by policy but refuse to give me a refund or even a partial refund even though they never provided me with the service I paid them for. I discovered too late sadly that my neighbor also used American home shield when he bought his house and cancel it because they refused to fix anything. According to the AHS contract i am entitled to a partial refund. (if AHS has provided services and the amount of the service costs incurred by AHS is less than the contract fees paid, the customer will receive a pro rata refund of the contract fees paid for the unexpired term, less the service costs incurred by AHS) (AHS Policy #225608842)

American Home Shield (AHS)
AHS has been a life saver several times mostly wit( our 22 year old heating and air conditioning system. The contractors have all been competent and professional. It would be nice if they had a program to help us replace the system, ultimately it would be less expensive. I would not be without this service.
