American Home Shield (AHS)
Had a compressor go out on my refrigerator. Called up my Home shield number and they hooked me up with a contractor. Within a few days he was out and replaced the compressor. Only had to pay for my deductible. /

I would advise any home owner to put aside the $ you would have spent on the Premium. Then use for any repairs that may come up . My deductible has risen 10-15 $ per year and the chance of denying coverage has increased as well. The fine print of the contract on what they cover / don't cover increases each year with the exceptions on coverage being the bulk. I've had 2/2 calls denied so far this year as well as some shady practices regarding their billing happen twice !

The worst I bought an older home and it had some plumbing issues a cast iron pipe under our home was leaking waste water. It smelled so bad I called AHS they sent a contractor to look at it he told me the whole pipe needed to be replaced.AHS told him basically to put a band aid on it it took the contractor over an hr on the phone just to get them to allow him to fix the hole. They said they would put lyme under the house to kill the smell never did smell was bad for weeks later. Was the same with 2 other issues lost our heat in an ice storm was promised money to buy heaters until they could get to us never happened 7 days no heat.Broken toilet cracked in the center same deal AHS told him to put a $6.00 gasket on it cost me $75.00 Use at your own risk

American Home Shield (AHS)
I have not been happy overall with AHS. They refused to warranty several issues we reported. After eight years with AHS we cancelled the policy and found another company to take care of our service needs.
