Lowe’s Protection Plans
Don\'t get this plan. Nobody takes responsibility to ensure the work is done. Lowe\'s goes to Assurance who then goes to multiple local repair shops. Go to Lowe\'s and complain, they point to Assurance who is not even in this country. Called about the status, opened a new ticket and now that shop won\'t touch it. Closed the ticket doing nothing. Need a new part, who has ordered it?? We have waited over three months to fix our washer. Wasted my whole day waiting for a technician to show up and say we aren't touching it. Because somebody had already come out. Too many "shell" companies. Don't buy the warranty. In addition, don't shop a Lowe's Home Improvement stores.

Lowe’s Protection Plans
Beware of the fraudulent practices inherent in Lowes Protection Plan ! Here is what they do not tell you . On Lowe\'s website, they advertise that their protection plan begins after the manufacturer warranty ends. This is not entirely true. Depending on the manufacture date of the appliance, Lowes will opt to run their Protection plan concurrently with the manufacturers warranty. I bought an upright freezer in 2017 ( order # 334517458 ) along with the Lowe's 3 year protection plan. Within a year, I went back to Lowes and inquired about service to my freezer. It was reiterated that because ithe term was still within the first 12 months, I would have to refer my repair to the manufacturer because the Lowes protection plan does not apply until the manufacturer warranty expires. Thus , the Lowes plan would run from 2018 to 2021. Skip to 2021. I wanted to extend my warranty. Today, i called Lowes only to be told that my protection plan expired a year ago in 2020. How can that be, I asked ? The very kind rep explained to me that since my freezer was manufactured in March 2017 ( I purchased in May 2017), the Lowes protection plan ran concurrently with the original warranty instead of afterwards. She read some apparent fine print to me attesting to this. I pointed out to the phone rep that (1)customers can only go by the sales person's word since customers do not receive a copy of the plan until after the appliance and plan are bought and paid for. Albeit, I was never given the little brochure at the time of purchase. And (2) it is touted all over the Lowes website that their coverage begins after the manufacturer warranty ends. The deception is deliberate and contrived. I am disgusted that no one at Lowes pointed out this major codicil to their Plan at the time of purchase or 11 months later when I needed service. Instead, they clearly pointed out that their plan was not yet active and would not be until the manufacturer warranty expired. I find Lowe's business practice to be fraudulent and reprehensible. My advice to everyone is to reconsider purchasing appliances from Lowes. But if you must, then purchase an external Plan that does not mislead about their warranty coverages. I will never purchase a major appliance from Lowe's again.

This is the WORST company I have EVER had the displeasure of working with. I am so displeased with this warranty company on the house I just purchased, that when asked if I wanted to purchase this home warranty for the house I was selling I laughed in the agent\'s face! I\'ve been in this house for 4 months. My AC goes out. The warranty company gets me an appointment with a contractor within 24 hours. GREAT! But then comes the fixing. It took 3 WEEKS to get my unit fixed. Only to have it break less than a week later. Took another 3 days before I could get it fixed again. Thankfully the second time didn't require ordering parts. Then the second claim is when my water heater goes out on the 4th of July. It's a holiday ,I get it, but regardless we were able to set up an appointment. Come July 9th when the contractor shows up. Problem is i got a problem with my water heater not my HVAC system. Which is who they sent, HVAC people. Thankfully we were able to get someone out on July the 10th. Who tells us that we need a new tank less unit. Today July 15th I'm calling the plumbers because I haven't heard anything since they diagnosed the problem. They tell me they are waiting on the parts and it could be Wednesday (17th) or Thursday (18) before they could come out. Mind you they are still waiting on parts and those days are not guaranteed. So here I am with 3 small children and no hot water for 12 days. I am shocked by all the 5 star and raving reviews! I have never thought of a warranty as a big waste of money, but that is EXACTLY what this company is. I have asked to purchase the parts from our local LOWE'S or HOME DEPOT as there are hundreds of home improvement stores in my state. No need to order parts. And have a plumber replace my unit for a refund from the warranty company. I'm told this has to be approved and will take time. So either way I am stuck without hot water for another couple of days. Even though they screwed up and sent the wrong company out to begin with, no one I have spoken to is of any help. I don't care how sorry you are or how you understand my frustration. Until you have to boil water to wash your children, dishes, or clothes for almost 2 weeks I don't want to hear it! I have been on the phone with this man who is in the Philippines handling my South Carolina warranty claim for an hour and a half! No one here is trying to correct their mistakes. What's really professional is me telling you I am AT MY JOB and they continue to make me sit on hold. I had to hang up and return to work. I will continue to broadcast my experience with this company all over the internet!

I initially called because the drip pan in my AC unit is rusted rotten and is leaking into my ceiling. The repair man came and found all sorts of things wrong with my unit, so he requested a repair and an upgrade, I received a call stating that the upgrade was not approved and they will be doing a repair instead But what about the reason for my call in the first place? THE ROTTED RUSTED DRIP PAN!!!!!!!!! Not to mention that when you, you are on hold FOREVER and are told that your wait time is 30 minutes and them after 27 minutes you are mysteriously disconnected. GOFIGURE.

This company is a premier example of bait and switch. They promise appliance repair / replacement. But ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS have some excuse not to actually have to provide the service I expected the company to provide. This company will gladly and quickly take your money. But, don't expect any actual service to be provided. I have contacted them 4 times and paid the $75 3 times to have them actually touch one toilet one time. They got the toilet working but not fully fixed. The fourth time I called them, I knew enough to ask the right questions to get them to admit they would not actually fix anything if they showed up. This is a great thing to buy as an enticement to get a buyer to buy your home as it sounds good when you say it fast. I would never pay any more of my money for this service and I would definitely never recommend these people to a real friend.
