Old Republic Home Protection
I am a Home Warranty Plan holders from Old Republic Home Protection. I initiated my service request fro Air Conditioner not working on 06/08/2020 and was told to pay $100 or less (If it cost less) On 06/09 a technician came from Stewart Enterprises and tried to diagnose the problem and said that it is with the Zoning Board. I did not believed in this person as he had trouble diagnosing the problem. He was on the property for like 20 mins. After this I was contacted by Old republic and was told that Zoning Board is not covered and was told that to they can get it replaced for $500. They told me that the service costed $65 and told me to pay $100 which is insane. I decided to go with a company recommended by my friend and after diagnosis, they told me that the Zoning Board is working fine and detected the leak in the Copper Wire which needs to be fixed along with filing the coolant. I reopened the ticket by calling Old Republic Home Protection on 06/12/2020 as the Coolant and leaks are covered under the plan. But I did not hear from either ORHP or Service Provider since than despite calling them repeatedly. On 06/15 /2020 Monday, I called ORHP and after a long wait, a representative told me that the service provider cannot complete the service as per information in her system and no one else is assigned to my request. After that she placed me on hold for hours. I am still burning in my house for weeks now and no one is calling me. I will update the review in case as it will progress.

This situation has happened on the last two repair request. Request made. Appt.time made for 8am to 12pm. At 11:30 am sears calls to say no repairman available, and next repair date available is 10 days later. Two calls were received over the weekend feom sears advising us our repairman would arrive at the scheduled time. Now on hold with AHS FOR 30 minutes or longer(my call is very important to them). Our last experience was a different repair svc but similar experience. Our dishwasher was out over a month and after 3 attempts to fix we gave up and purchased a new one. AHS may have good intentions but their contractors do not.

It was a great experience. I had a water heater put in, & your service man was very professional & knowledgeable, top rate. What I like is he is the same person that has been out here a few times over the years & I enjoy talking to him, he's like an old friend. I wouldn't be without Home Shield, you have always responded timely & efficiently also replacing anything with a quality product, always equal or better than what I had. Thank You

I had two claims with the ORHP. One was main level HVAC unit got burnt jus two months after I bought the home. The service guy turned up the next day from a local company. The unit has to be replaced. Although I had Ultimate protection plan, some to of the labor/installation costs were not covered. My out of pocket expenses were $60 call out fee and $800 for those uncovered costs. But the overall process and the service guy did an excellent job. The next time I had my kitchen garbage disposal stopped working, the guy showed up the next day morning, surprisingly he had a brand new insinkerator with him and he quickly replaced it and paid him $60. It has been pleasant experience with ORHP so far. I hope to continue my warranty with them, although they've increased the premium and callout fee this year.

Old Republic Home Protection
I represent a mortgage company and this is recent story regarding a client of ours: A local family obtained a home warranty with Old Republic and had their air conditioning go out during the coverage period. The husband currently serves in the ARMY 1st Brigade, 104th division and was traveling during this time. His wife quickly had the air conditioning replaced not knowing she had to first call Old Republic and get their permission. Old Republic is refusing to cover any part of the replacement because the family did not strictly follow their terms of service. I even asked if they would consider paying the minimum coverage for a replacement air conditioner rather than retail. The answer I received from their corporate offices was “let me repeat this once again, we will NOT cover their claim as they did not properly follow our terms of service”. Bottom line is that the warranty covers air conditioning units for one year and we gave them proof that the system went out during the coverage period. I called two other local warranty companies and BOTH said they would have made an exception for a situation such as this. They said they might not cover the retail price the family paid but rather a lesser wholesale rate.

They are a scam............DO NOT USE THEM. I AM CALLING MY CLIENTS TO SUSPEND THEIR SERVICES OR NOT TO RENEW SERVICES WITH THEM. 1. VERY RUDE BY THE PHONE 2. THEY ALWAYS LOOK TO REJECT YOUR CLAIM FOR ANY TECHNICAL REASON. 3. If YOU GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER BY THE PHONE THEY WILL CHARGE WHATEVER THEY WANT. 4. AFTER 4 MONTHS CALLING THEM EVERY DAY AND HAVING SERVICES PROVIDED TO MY A/C UNIT THE A/C NEVER WORKED AND I HAD TO REPLACED IT WITH MY MONEY AS THEY NEVER WANT TO DO IT FOR TECHNICAL REASONS.(MIX MATCH UNITS) 5. THEY SUSPENDED MY SERVICES BECAUSE ONE OF THE SERVICE MEN PROVIDERS ALLEGATED THEY NEVER RECEIVED THE TRADE CALL FEES (OF $60.00)THAT YOU MAY CALL THE DEDUCTIBLE. THEN THEY TURNED ME OVER A COLLECTION AGENCY FOR THOSE 60.00. 6. THEY SERVICED MY GARAGE DOOR OPENER. LITLE AFTER THAT THE LIGTHS DID NOT WORK AND WHEN I CALLED THEM THE TOLD ME THAT THE OPENER WAS INCLUDED BUT NOT THE LIGTHS. 7. THE SEVEN GUYS THEY SENT TO FIX MY A/C DID NOT LOOK PROFESIONAL AT ALL AND EVERYONE HAS A DIFERENT DIGNOSED.

American Home Shield (AHS)
My experience with AHS has always been excellent. They choose good contractors who are trained and experienced, most have been outstanding in their fields and very polite. They explain what is wrong and how it must be fixed. I am usually able to get them to come quicker then a normal service call w/o AHS. Being with AHS saves me money in the repair of household items over the period I have been signed with them.

Customer Service Rep Matt kept interrupting me on the phone reading from a manual. I told him not to interrupt me while I was explaining the claim. Poor customer service. He would not work for me. Customer Service is all you have to sell. Poor service! He said he did not have to take someone interrupting him. Hmmm... When I wanted to speak to his supervisor he hung up the phone. Called back and spoke to Wendy a supervisor she was good.
