If there was a negative star these clowns would get it, no service, no help, no phone answering. They use sub par contractors, read the contract careful they exclude almost every possible scenario so that you wont get service. You have been warned

Horrible service. 9 months. 12 phone hours. and my convection oven still isnt fixed. 2 seperate contractors came out, said they were ordering parts, closed the ticket, never to be heard from again. one contractor ordered parts it worked twice, then broken again. G* support told him to order the same parts again. Lowes tells him its too expensive to fix and closes the ticket. Here i am on hold again trying to get my oven fixed or replaced. I will never purchase ANYTHING from Lowes again. :-( . Note, similar issues on my dishwasher last year.

American Home Shield (AHS)
My overall rating would have been higher if the wait times for a customer service rep was less and that I was better able to understand. I am also not able to contact AHS via email because of an error on my dash board saying that I needed to renew my contract even though the contract is active. The repair time was longer than it should have been because of a variety of service trips without the right part or information. All that said, I recommended AHS to a friend today.

AHS home warranty program works great. I had my furnace, stove, and AC fixed. I think it\'s pricey due to the monthly fee and co-payment when service is needed. The vendors who work with AHS are good.

Customer service is completely clueless. I keep speaking to people that have no idea what is going on and is not able to solve anything, I called the I don\'t know, I don\'t care attitude. They always put me on hold, I am spending at least 4 hours a day trying to get my problem solved, but nobody is really able to help. Evertyhing started 2 month ago when I put my first claim, plumber found nothing, but he charged me for an uncoverd item, wich I payed out of my pocket. i kept loosig water... I found a leak while I was replacing a shower faucet, I opened the tile from shower and found that the main valve system was leaking. I called AMS again on 6/3/2019 and they sent a plumbing company as second opinion (not without demanding it, because remember this is clueles people that do not care and do not know what is going on). They said that the shower valve is leaking and they have to replace it (right...). They told me insurance will pay for that but, since the previosus sealing was some type of plastic, they have to put a welding sealing. so they said that I will have to pay about $285 out of my pocket for something they called a modification wich was replacing that sort of plastic seal for welding seal. I thought was too much money so i called AHS to see my options. after speaking with customer service for about 5 hours on Thursday the 6th 2019, they said they can send me a check for the covered item (remember that I am speding hours with them an demanding because again this is clueles people that do not care and do not know what is going on) and I would cover any additional not covered item. I said fine. Today they called me saying that they are sorry but the payment was not approved because the repair was done already... I said, what? What repair nobody has made any repair yet, after a long waiting then they said. I am sorry it was denied because the plumber could not make an opening to the wall and could not make a diagnostic. I said what? I already removed the tiles before plumber came and he gave me and estimate already, they actually just told me to remove a couple more of tiles and to call them so they can start the work... this was on and on and on for hours and you know... they do not care do not know... it was like speaking to a wall,, so that day i gave up... I called on Friday 6/14/2019 again (I just spent about 3 hours that day) finally spoke to a representative that called the plumbing company to ask for the estimate of the work so they can send me a check... and I am returning back to the same place again, and I will have to spend another 4 aday hours to speak to people thay will transfer me to other people that do not know... do not care.. This company is a joke. UPDATE 6/11/2019: So today this company called me, and they made me an offer they said they can offer me $16.15 for all this work... so I said what?? sixteen dollars? and fifteen cents?? the valve itself on home depot is about $120 and the plumber job? So they said: you can call to your own plumber and pay to them but we can just cover upto $16.15. and the explanation this woman gave was We Negotiate to a great scale so that is why we can get those prices, I hang up and I called again and they just said, this is just the information that we have. so they repeated the same.. (This is crazy... ) She also said that she sees on the system that a supervisor will be in touch with me I guess is the person that read here my complain And she said you can talk to her if you want and explain the issue to her and MAY BE she can do anything about it... Well I am still waiting that call and just FYI I already know this company is not worth it, is a joke and they do not know (clueles people) and to know care. But I want to know how far this goes. I just cannot believe business like this exist I have been paying $50 a month and they were nice until I made this claim... that is called strategic stealing. I already spent on a plumbing company $450 today 6/11/2019 (and they want to give me 16.15! geeezz). I already made the repair and I am just posting this so you can know... Will keep this up to date after that call.

I contacted AHS on line on a Sunday night with a stoppage problem and was contacted by phone the next morning to let me know that J&K Plumbing would contact me to set up an appointment. I was called shortly afterwards and an appointment was set for Tuesday between 11A-3P. Plumber arrived sometime after 11 and problem was fixed by 12:30. The plumber was very professional and suggested some things we could do to prevent future problems.

Our faucet was leaking and we couldn’t get it turned off. Of course it was on on a Friday so they couldn’t get out to repair it till Monday. Once you ok a company then you have to stick with that company. Other than that, they came out when they were supposed to and fixed the leaky faucet with a part and were gone all within an hour.

After our home was five years old, I made the decision to get American Home Shield coverage for my home residence. That was 13 years ago, and looking back it was one of the best life decisions I made. After our first experience using American Home Shield, I became an advocate. The list of items covered under my policy is comprehensive, too. American Home Shield customer service has always been professional and courteous and helped ease this first time homeowner angst deal with those unforeseen breakdowns, commonly seen after being five years in a new home. Our experiences has always been with very good subcontractors, with the exception of one that American Home Shield worked with me on in placing my work with another contractor. A plumbing issue with my kitchen faucet and leaking controls underneath the sink was my most recent incident that American Home Shield's contractor helped resolve. Not only was I given the name of the plumber, I also received a personal call from him letting me know that he was on his way to my home and given an app to track his progress that provided an approximate arrival time.

The contractor came very timely , polite, tidy and knowledgeable. My old HVAC outdoor condenser was making loud noise. The contractor replaced a part that reduced some noise but cannot reduce the main noise due to the age of the unit, and advised that I wait until the unit become unrepairable and replace with a new unit, which I understood. I am still hoping that there is another way to reduce the noise for the time being.

The last call I made to AHS in Dec 2014. My thermostat went out (had no heat)and I have company from out of town coming in 48 hours. The contractor called almost immediately within 3 hours of my initial call, set my appt for the first thing the following day. Technician was on time, knowledgible, and efficient. Diagnosed quickly it was the thermostat, replaced it. Showed how to use it, left the instruction booklet for me. My house was heated and ready for company within an hour.

The worst. Wow. Sends unqualified contractor and refuses to send an alternate. After two weeks of bringing wrong parts first guy says he must do $800 in additional non-covered work to make the repair. Rubbish, I've been in construction all my life. AHS only willing to pay 1/3 of repair costs if I hire my own contractor. Gave AHS EVERY opportunity to evaluate the situation, provide an alternate contractor of their choice and asked them for section and paragraph of the contract that says they cant send someone else. What a joke. They wouldn't send another contractor and couldn't explain the contract either. In the end they have no real reason nor interest in resolving issues like this. They just force and ultimatum and make you swallow it. AHS was provided as a realtor bought warranty with a home purchase. I would NEVER outright by a policy from them. What a scam.

My last request was done online late in the afternoon. The web page was very helpfull and easy to navigate where it took me very little time to request the service. The contractor call me early morning the next day on Friday and wanted to schedule for monday, I was busy on monday so I requested for wednesday. They told me it will be between 1 pm and 5 pm. On Wednesday, the contractor came 1 pm sharp and he was very knowledgable and did the work in a very short time after diagnosing the problem. I was fully satisfied with the work and he told me if anything happen, please call us again and we will be glad to come again and see what is going wrong. I am fully satisfied with all the service tendered.

The scale was only 1-5, otherwise it would have been a zero. My advice... stay away. They are horrible and when they go through local contractors, you are placed at the very bottom on priority. Here are the problems I've had over the last 2 yrs. Issue 1: replace waterheater 2 yrs after moving in. not covered due to "customer neglect". said I should have flushed it more frequently. $800 out of pocket to replace. Issue 2: Dishwasher went out (pane/fuse). Took six trips over 3 months to fix it. Each time they place a service request, it was a minimum of 1 week to come out, just for the guy to tell us that they needed a part and it would be another week. then it would go out again after a week. also, one of the companies took the bolts that keep it in place and did not replace. AHS will not cover someone coming back out to put it back in. Issue 3: replace garbage disposal. contractor would not replace without having to run an air line to the top of the sink. I have a soap dispenser so hole was already drilled. only $150 to do 2 min of work. I told them to leave and replaced myself. $250 out of pocket. Issue 4: A/C goes out. It's 95 degrees every day. Guy comes out on day 3 tells us they need a part and will be back on Friday. 1-6 window. 6:30 I get a call saying we don't have the part and will be back on Monday. Monday I get a call from another contractor saying the work order was transferred and we'll be back on Thursday to look at it and "see what's wrong", at which point I'm sure it will be another week to get the part. This is the final straw and I will be finding another warrenty company.

Seller of my house bought me the warranty to begin with and renewed for a few years. When my disposal was leaking, they sent a tech briefly inspect the problem then told my wife that was an installation issue. Told her the AHS doesn't cover and he would replace it for $350.00. Got on the phone with him, he thinks I'm rude and refused to talk to me. AHS refused to do anything. Put it this way, they probably has an excuse for every problem you have.
