Good experience replacing pump. Service repair person was professional and quickly resolved our problem. Let us know what he was going to do and did it. Great job no loud sounds anymore...

Please have your vendor to send technician who is knowledgeable of service that need done and not keep your customers for days with no resolution. Over 5 days was too long for a repair and I have to demand for experience technician before there was a resolution. Thank you with blessings.

Affordable service. Very handy to have. Called on Thursday about AC issues and it was fixed on the following Monday. With high demands at this time I expected a longer wait. This was awesome!

My ice maker broke, I called American Home Shield on Friday, the technician called me Saturday, and my ice maker was replaced on Monday. AHS has great customer service, and get results fast. I have been contracted with AHS several years and strongly recommend them for all of your warranty needs.

Recently had a claim denied. The reason was that a gas furnace was missing a part. Considering that only AHS contractors worked in the furnace this is unfair. It is easy for an AHS contractor to report a part missing. The claim is denied but is followed by a proposal to replace the system for a price. AHS wins , contractor wins and customer lose.

My hot water heater went out at 5:00 pm on Tuesday before Thanksgiving. I put in a ticket on-line but there is nothing that tells you when you will get a call back from a service company or who would be doing the service for you. I didn\'t think that I would know who the company was but I was looking for a response time. Or something to tell me when I can expect a call from AHS or the service company, as we had a house full of people in for the holidays. . That is not the case. So I called to find out when to expect a call from the selected service company. When I called I was put on hold for 48 minutes before AHS Disconnected me. I called back a second time and was put on hold for 43 minutes before AHS Disconnected me. The third time I called I was on hold for 17 minutes before I was disconnected. I could not get anyone on the phone and had spent almost 2 hours on hold before the Ultimate "Disconnect". 8 Hours later at I:00am in the morning I received and email telling me that nobody would show up until Thanksgiving Day (2-days later). So this means we would be without hot water for 2 days, a house full of guest, and Thanksgiving Day (sometime) a technician would show up. No time specifically because they don't know. This was unacceptable. I ended up calling the service company directly who told me they were over booked as it was and had no available slots. AHS left this problem up to me to solve. You would think that they would try and find a company that could service the problem, maybe not the same day but at least by the following day. They were ok with 2 day turn around time frame on Thanksgiving Day. I ended up calling the service company myself and begged them to come out. It was by chance that they had a cancellation and got someone out to the house and fixed the hot water heater. But as far as AHS goes they get a negative 10 score from me (unfortunately they don't go into the negatives so I had to give them a 1). They don't answer the phone, are not helpful with resolving the problem, and really didn't seem to care that I had a house full of people for the holidays with no hot water. Really disappointed ! I would think twice if you have an option to go with another company before deciding on AHS.

I love submitting the claim on their website. It\'s so easy and user friendly. The only problem, if you have an issue and you need to talk to someone, forget it. You will be on the phone for literally hours before someone answers. Even then, the operators pickup the receiver so fast they accidentally hang up and you have to start over. The last time I had to use them was back in December 2017 for a refrigerator issue. The refrigerator and freezer would not keep cold, so I submitted a claim on line. Everything was fine until they sent someone out to look at it which took over 1 week (no refrigerator or freezer for 1 week). The said they fixed it but didn't. That's when I had to call AHS. Mind you I had to wait hours before someone answered my call. So, they sent another company out. This time is took a couple of days. Same thing, they thought they fixed it, but nope. They just replaced another part. I then had to call AHS again. Wait several hours before they answered again.....This time they called a 3rd company out. Yes, they came the next day, but said the problem was not what the first or the 2nd company replaced it was totally a different part which I had to wait several days before this part (control panel) came in. After this part was replaced, finally my refrigerator was fixed. The whole fiasco took over a month and we did not have a refrigerator during Christmas or new years! I tell you I was so patient, but if this ever happens again, I will drop them like yesterdays trash. I was so disappointed in AHS, especially since I rave about them constantly. No more. I would hate someone to experience what I did, especially if I referred them. I have been with AHS for years and never had this problem. It almost makes me wonder if they are overloaded with customers and if so, maybe we should go to another company.

I have had American Home Shield for approx 12 years on two different homes. I am largely pleased so when I sold the first home I signed for service on our current home. I generally get my money\'s worth every year based on the cost of things that break. In this house alone, they\'ve done AC work on two units, replaced a water heater, replaced a water softener, fixed the refrigerator, replaced our pool heater, and replaced an icemaker. I would say the weakest areas are customer service, it's very hard to get them on the phone at all, and they tend to not respond to email. The vendors complain about this as well. Some of the vendors they sign up have very poor online ratings, which is always a cause for concern, but I've generally had pretty good luck with their vendors and found them nice, professional, and caring about doing good work. Finally, there needs to be a service level agreement on timeliness for certain things like AC out in a hot climate, heat out in a cold climate, refrigerator out with no backup, etc. I was without AC two weeks in the hottest part of the summer. I would also like to be able to upgrade things that need to be replaced at my own cost for a better unit, realizing this will slow down the process a bit. If you could get in touch with a human, and they had a service level on mission-critical equipment, and I could upgrade, they'd be five stars across the board. Despite these challenges though, it brings great piece of mind to know you won't have to pay $10k if your AC needs to be replaced.

I\'m just waiting for my air conditioning unit to go so I can cancel my service with AHS. Every appliance call I\'ve had has been met with sub-competent repair people. Of the 10 calls (or so) that I\'ve had over 12 years, 8 have had sub-level performing contractors. Getting anyone in to know the real problem is rare -- one contractor said he couldn't unplug a drain and had to come thru my roof (and because AHS doesn't cover roof access I had to call an independent plumber who charged me $150 to simply snake it out -- which took all of 20 min). Today, I had a dishwasher repair person who has NOT called me for 2 weeks (I've been trying to get someone on the phone at AHS and there's a message saying it's a half hour wait for a service rep to ANSWER my call) just "show up" only to tell me that there's nothing wrong with my machine because he can start it -- the problem is, it doesn't run a full cycle to the heat cycle, but, because it "started" he claimed there was no problem -- these are the kind of repair people they send. He transferred the call to someone else -- bottom line is, he didn't KNOW what the problem was and was calling me a liar saying that the diagnostics said there was nothing wrong, so there's nothing wrong. Please tell that to my half washed dishes that aren't dried. This company has ZERO customer service....BEWARE.

DO NOT buy this if you do not have shiny new appliances! They will only pay a portion of the repairs and it will end up costing you more money in the long run. Do yourself a favor and save the $$ you would have paid each money to them in case you need a new appliance. You don\'t get to choose your contractor, so you are left hoping they are knowledgeable and carry the types of products you need or want.. lots and LOTS of limitations!

My A/C kept running even when I turned it off. My A/C repair person came first thing the next morning and fixed my problem within 15 minutes. I was not gone from work more than 30 minutes. I always have great service from the companies that AHS sends out!! They are always very polite!!

We purchased the warranty for 495 at closing last year and the renewal rate this year is going up to $628 (ouch!). We've used their service for 3-items. The A/C, the shower water temperature and pressure, and the dishwasher. Each visit cost 75. Per the technician, the A/C unit issue was due to a condenser (65 part) that needed to be replaced on the outside fan motor. Two techs were here and it took them all of 10 minutes to diagnose and replace it. They only looked at my exterior unit and said there was no need to go to my attic to see the actual A/C unit. I would have liked to have my units examined while they were here on a service call as a proactive measure rather than have to call them back in the near future. (ok) The shower issue was due to corrosion and the tech needed to return with a part. He was very professional and efficient. He fixed the extreme temperature issue but I was responsible for separately purchasing a new shower head to rectify the pressure issue.(good) The dishwasher: multiple visits and still not fixed. When Able Appliance arrived, I told them we watched a YouTube repair video with our model and it showed a screened "food basket" that was missing from the lower interior of our unit. The repairman said there was no such thing. I tried to find the video to show him saying we'd just watched it a few days before and it clearly showed it. Again, he reacted in a poor fashion (condescending) so I dropped it. They went on to tell me that the newer dishwashers use less water so it's not uncommon for your dishes to come out less clean than in the past. They said I'd have to rinse them, removing all food particles, before putting in the dishwasher. He suggested adding vinegar to the cycle and that should help. They also said I needed a different part that they'd have to return with in a few days. I didn't hear back so I called and then they made arrangements. They changed the part but it didn't make a difference; my dishes were still dirty and I wasn't getting anywhere with them. I called American Home Shield NUMEROUS times to tell them it still wasn't repaired and they said they were waiting on the report from the technician. This took MONTHS!!! The agent would promise to call me back, and she never did. I requested a different company come by to take care of it since the first company clearly didn't know how to fix it. When JM Appliance came here, his biggest concern was "What did the first company say?" - His solution was that I change the dish washing soap I'm using, add a specific rinse agent, and go buy LemonX (think that's the name) to clean our the dishwasher, and clean my dishes first. He also ordered and came back to replace a small part. I continue to get grit or film on the dishes. VERY DISSATISFIED with the NON-REPAIR of my dishwasher. I also called American Home Shield regarding the renewal of my policy and questioning the rise in rates, especially since they never repaired my dishwasher. I incorrectly anticipated that the agent would transfer me to customer service to "make it right" - nope. She basically ignored that I had just reminded her multiple times that my dishwasher still has dirty dishes - and she did not move on the renewal price. However, she did say the rate could possibly go lower if I wanted to remove certain appliances from the list of what I want covered. "Like the broken dishwasher that was supposed to be covered that I paid $75 ti get fixed," I asked? Not addressed by the agent.

The experience was perfect. Our contractor contacted us shortly after we filled out the online form at the AHS website, arrived when expected, explained the problem and its resolution, returned as promised to complete the repairs once parts had arrived, and was courteous and tidy throughout. It's exactly what I want a repair to be like.

About just an hour after I placed my service request with AHS, the appliance co. called and arranged for an appointment. The service technician was right on time and courteous and efficient. Turned out parts were not available for my applicance so AHS arranged for a replacement right away. The installers were right on time for thier appointment and in and out in no time.

I couldn’t have been happier with my experience. This was my first time using AHS and it was super easy. I got a call the next day from the plumber and they were out in no time to fix me up. The plumber even worked on his day off to get my hot water working. Thanks AHS!
