AHS didn\'t help much on this issue. I ended up paying $75 for a service call, found out the serviceman that came does not get the $75, AHS keeps that money. The AC services i needed cost me $225 with AHS only paying $30. So with the $75 service call fee and the $225 for the AC services this cost me $300 with AHS paying $30! I feel that is a little out of balance considering my monthly fee for the insurance:/

Our AC seemed to be working intermittently. When the tech arrived he inspected the aiir filter (recently changed) and found it to be ok. He then went to the atic and inspected the unit. He discovered tat a drain line was clogged;cleared the line and everything was fine.

Good and not so good. My hot water heater was replaced by AHSW but I was still out of pocket expense of $505.00. I also had the $75.00 service fee. It is always the bring up to code issue with all replacements. I think and feel that AHSW should share in this expense. I have had this warranty for over 20 years & have very seldom used the warranty. I think that some type of compensation for longevity should be given.

I had an AC issue, scheduled a service call online with AHS which was effortless. Tech came as stated and within 20 minutes had my unit diagnosed and repaired. Couldn\'t ask for a better transaction.

Been with American Home shield for 8 years, never missed a payment. Had my first claim with them on water heater that had to be replaced. They came out, agreed it had to be replaced. 4 weeks later still without hot water. No calls, no texts and 2 hours of wasted calling in to hear same old message that It has been ordered. After giving up, I asked for a cash out (at lower price) but at least I could then go and buy my own water heater and install myself. Not so fast, they said "you need to purchase it your self and submit all copies of who did the work before they would even consider the claim". TERRIBLE COMPANY, HORRIBLE CS, STAY AWAY!!!

The repairmen were very knowledgable and knew the problem immediately. They were very respectful and wore their masks. Excellent service from both repairmen. Would recommend and use the company again!

Easy to file a request for service, quick response time and a professional vendor completed the job. From start to finish 3 hrs. Great job. I would definitely use them again.

My A/C coil went out, and because it was 25 years old, it took a while to get the replacement part. At 7:30 AM on the morning after they got the part, they had two techs at my house doing the replacement. They were very professional and got the repair done quickly.

The absolute worst company around. The contract reads like they will cover the usual warranty items (water leak, electrical, etc.), but here\'s the issue: They deny most claims because the cause of the problem OR the result of the problem is not covered. Example, if there is faulty wiring, because electrical runs through the circuit panel, they deny the claim because the circuit panel is not covered. Water leaks that damages electrical outlets, electrical runs through circuit panel, not covered. Yes, I know the circuit panel is not the same thing as a breaker but they still won't cover it. The vendors that they send out are very unreliable as well. They either don't show up or show up without the correct parts and never come back. Beware, you will still be charged the service fee per your contract irrespective if the vendor performed ANY work at your home. It's best to look elsewhere for a more reputable company.

Old Republic Home Protection
Bought a new house with a home warranty from Old Republic. The first time I used their service was to repair a leaking kitchen water valve. Old Republic contracted some very small plumber that sent out a guy in training. After several calls to his boss, he decided for some odd reason to cut a 1 foot square hole in my dry wall, which had nothing to do with the leaking valve. When he left, the valve was not fixed and now I had this big hole in my wall. He was supposed to return to make the final repair, but failed to show up. I finally contracted a reputable plumber to replace the small ¾” valve and another guy to repair, spackle and paint my dry wall, and $230 later, it was fixed. Then Old Republic sent me a noticed regarding an unpaid “Trade Fee” of $75.00. I wrote back and explained how the plumber they hired, was totally incompetent and how I ended up calling out a professional plumber and dry wall guy to make the TWO repairs out of my own pocket. Old Republic wrote back a second time to insist I pay the trade fee or they would cancel the policy. I unwillingly paid their blood money under protest to keep the policy in force. In my opinion, Old Republic Home Protection is a huge rip-off and I would recommend anyone looking at warranty companies, to steer clear of these guys and look for company that practices better business ethics.

The representative knew how to find the problem and make the repair. Our a/c was only a symptom and he went step by step to find and fix the units true problem. His knowledge of the equipment led to finding and fixing the hidden fault. This guy is GOOD!!

This was included with our used home purchase. We had a small issue with some plumbing and used American Home Shield. The response was quick, service man showed up when stated, fixed the issue. Very easy on us as homeowner and eliminated the need to find a reliable repair company.

I have been a long time AHS customer and have been extremely happy with the customer service, response time and the repair technicians we have had. We have had the same technician for a couple of our needs. I am pretty upset this year due to an increase in our rates, though, so I am considering polling the marketplace for better pricing. I\'ll miss my technician, but I am on fixed income and have to be cost conscious.

It\'s quite comforting that I can call AHS whenever I have a problem with my home. I make 1 call and have a knowledgeable repair person there in a timely fashion for a reasonable deductible amount.

This is a 13 year old home that I bought for use by my in-laws for their last years. I asked for service for a bathtub faucet diverter as the plastic inside had broken. After four days of waiting the plumber came out and said he felt that the diverter had been broken from excessive force being applied when pulling up to activate the shower. I don’t understand how an 87 year old man who can barely lift 30 pounds is able to abuse a diverter to cause it to break. Sometimes things break and have to be repaired without American Home Shield hiding behind the abuse clause and failing to do the right thing by honoring the warranty paid for, in addition to the 75.00 fee paid the 22 year old plumber who said abuse. Call me extremely underwhelmed.

We were having a problem with the circuit tripping in the garage for the refrigerator/freezer. We were afraid the refrigerator/freezer was failing, so we called American Home Shield to report the incident. The service agent who was very courtesy and helpfully recorded our claim. In a very short time a service man called and promised to be at our house a setup time. He arrived as promised, and tested our refrigerator/freezer and determined the unit was working properly. He explained the unit was plugged to a ground fault outlet, which caused the problem. He told us if we encountered any further problem to call him. Thank you American Home Shield!
