I\'ve had American Home Shield coverage since 2007. I\'ve never had an issue with any service call I\'ve placed. If you don\'t have patience, I don\'t think you\'ll like any home warranty. They assign the repair to a service company and the appointment for the repair is setup between yourself and the service company. I love knowing when I have someone out to repair an item, I know exactly how much it's going to cost. My repairs have always been completed on the first call, except one. I had a wall oven that quit. The part needed wasn't available. Extra time was needed to find a replacement oven and schedule delivery and installation of the new oven. I did have the option to accept their cost as settlement and find my own oven. I've had a/c repairs, the oven, a garbage disposal, and a microwave. I renew annually as I'm happy with the service I receive, the customer service available, and the online scheduling.

On friday of last week (8/23) My Air condition stopped blowing out cold air. I went online and place a trouble ticket, I was then put in touch with a contractor and within a hour I was notified and the next day was assigned to my case. Technician came by early, because I guess, I had asked for as early an appoinment as possible... I like it... I was back in business not too much later. I am glad that I signed up with American Home Shield and will recommend whenever I get the chance

We have been customer\'s of American Home Shield since we purchased our home in 1994. They have always been excellent in getting repairmen to our house in a timely manner and we can even request a particular repair service that we have used in the past for repairs.

The worst experience. They send the worst companies to (not) repair your issues - but those that will give you estimates in the hundreds of dollars to effect repairs they say are not covered. Save your money - don't use AHS.

Old Republic Home Protection
I work in the real estate industry and have for close to 20 years. I recently purchased an Old Republic (OR) home warranty for a rental property I have. The home sold and OR did something I've never heard any other warranty company do, they charged me a $50 cancellation fee AND because I had a service done while I was covered, they are charging me for the full amount of the service PLUS they want the $60 trade call fee. I was informed that I have a one year contract it's not truly a warranty and since I canceled after 9 months, they have every right to charge for the trade call fee and the service fee. I have literally ordered 1,000's of home warranty policies and have never heard of anything like this!!! I will NEVER, NEVER promote OR ever again and plan to tell every RE Agent I know to not use them or stop if they are. I have sent a huge amount of business to them and it has stopped immediately. Avoid this company like the plaque. As an RE agent, DO NOT confine your clients with this horrible company!!!

We have had good experiences with American Home Shield. The service has been friendly, punctual, and efficient. Our problem is always taken care of and in a sufficient and timely manner. We do appreciate the professional manner in which the technician arrives, considers the problem and acts to get the necessary things needed, then returns to take care of the solution. We appreciate all the help and consideration given by American Home Shield.

I have had AHS policy for years but only used its service for a few times. The overall experience has been very negative with an extremely long wait to even talk to any live represenntative. When I complained about the wait, I was told that there was nothing that the company could do about it. One summer, when I had A/C problem, it would take weeks before someone could come out to take a look. I had to find an outside company to repair on my own.
