We were experiencing a persistant odor in our guest bathroom. It seemed to emenate from the bath tub drain. Thinking it was a dry P Trap I tried a variety of solutions, such as pouring mineral oil down the drain, but the odor would soon return. / / I called American Home Shield to verify whether this problem was covered by my policy. Within less than an hour I recieved a call formm a local plumbing contractor who arrived at my home that same day. / / He was a complete professional in every respect. After a cursory check of the bathroom he crawled under the house and made a surprising discovery. The bath tub drain did not even have a P Trap. The absence of such a device was allowing sewer odors to rise up the drain pipe into the house. / / He quickly installed one with the materials he had in his truck and within 30 minutes he was gone and so was the odor. While he was working under the house I was fretting about how much this was going to cost me but I was delightfully informed there would be no additional charge beyond the service call fee. / / From the time of my call to AHS until the contractor left my home I was extremely pleased by the entire experience. I recieved courteous and professional treatment at every turn. /View Less
