Such a great experience. The garbage disposal stopped working. I called and made a claim. The vendor sent a text indicating they received the claim and called promptly to schedule an appointment. The technician was very knowledgeable and repaired the issue quickly.

My refrigerator/freezer. The freezer quit freezing. Called AHS to report the problem. They took all info and called back within a couple of minutes with the contact info for the repair service. The repair tec called a couple of hrs later and setup an appointment. The technician arrived the next afternoon, found the problem, and ordered the parts. He came back a couple of days later and installed the new parts. No problem. Great Service from AHS and The Technician.

I have used AHS since 2005. I enjoy the ease of use. When something breaks I just call them an d they arrange for the repair services. Most of the time the complete cost is just the $75 deductible. Recently I was pleasantly surprised as AHS replaced both my oven and stove top, very quick to replace once my order was in place. I also found out that I can by appliances like refrigeratorws and washer and dryers from them and get their volume based discount

My first call did not turn out so well but this second one was perfect. My oven would take forever to heat up and then would not be reliable when baking. The technician knew exactly what it was, had the part in his van and fixed it within minutes! Now my oven heats up just right and bakes to perfection.

I have had AHS for life i have owned my home, which has been approx 4yrs. Within that time the first 1-2 years they seems like that had their service streamed lined. Over the past 2 years this has not been the case. The hold times have been extremely long at least over an 1hr per wait. Currently today i have been on hold for more than 2.5 hrs. I have 1 person get on the phone just to tell that they cannot help with what request i am looking for. Currently my hot water heater went out, so i leave in Texas is isn't horrible but when the temp has been averaging about 20-30 degrees here not having hot water can be a very big issue when you have a family of 4. I paid my 75 dollar co-pay and had the contractor come out. They assessed it would take a week from yesterday to get the all the parts and every thing ready for them to come and install. No i am not sure what they were all thinking that it is ok to wait a week to install a hot water heater. So not i am in process of calling and trying to cancel and get my pay out for this work order so i can pay an outside contractor come in do this within 1-2 days. Now i am not one to complain but they have not bad a very customer service over the last 2 years and each contract company i speak with tells me that they would prefer not work with AHS due to fact that they scam. it is better to just save the money instead of spending the monthly payments.

If you want to wait on hold for over an hour; get the run around for getting your appliance replaced...this is the company to have your home warranty with. When calling this company, it is difficult to know where to go to get to speak with a live person. Many, not all, of the customer service reps are absolutely rude and could not care less about my situation. I have been without a refrigerator for 5 weeks due to the appliance repair company's mishaps and bad customer service. I was lied to by the repair company on two different occasions. So 5 weeks later and two refrigerator contents ruined, I went out and purchased a new refrigerator on my own. This is very unfortunate as I have been with AHS for more than 20 years. I was promised a call back from them by 11a today to give them the opportunity to resolve my problem. It is now 11:45a and still no call. I'm on hold now with an expected hold time of greater than 30 minutes which from past experience translates to over an hour on hold. I'll be canceling this contract today.

Be prepared to be on HOLD at least 1 hour before speaking to anyone. I have had this service for over 2 years and only called for assistance twice. Each time was hell. First time AC went out and they stated that I would have to wait 24-72 hours for some one. IN TEXAS IN THE SUMMER! Then when I called about my dryer. The repair guy told we he could only come out M-F 8-5. As a single parent i work these hours and cannot afford to take off 8 hours for something that should only be a 1 hour fix. I ha to argue with the vendor and AHS to find me another vendor who had weekend and evening hours. The second repair guy put a heating element on and told me it would blow out again due to not being able to get on my roof without AHS approval to check to see if the heat was trapped. 1 LOAD later the dryer was out. The vendor went so far as to say had I not used AHS he could have fixed it . Total of 5.5 hours on hold It took 2 visits and 3 heating elements later before I knew what was wrong. Had to hire another company to clean the duct. Total waste of time had someone told me in the beginning

AHS has terrible customer service and uses sub par contractors that are dishonest. The following details my experience with AHS just this year (2017). In February 2017 I reported 3 leaks below the sinks in my bathroom. Their plumbing contractor showed up and said he was only told about one leak and that\'s all he was going to look at. He didn't fix it. Also, he was supposed to fix a broken faucet on my bathtub. He reported that the handle was broken by force so AHS wouldn't cover it. He did absolutely nothing but I still had to pay the $75 fee. So then I call AHS to arrange for another plumber to come out. I even had Moen send me a fee replacement for my bathtub faucet. But the plumber said they would not remove the side panel of my bathtub, because it would cost AHS too much money if the panel was damaged. So he did nothing. Still I had to pay an additional $75.00. Then I had to bring in a third plumber to fix the problems with the leaking sinks and the bathtub faucet. I had to pay over $500 for the plumbing repairs since the AHS plumbers refused to make the repairs. Every time you call AHS, you have to wait over an hour on hold before you can speak to a representative. So I booked a ceiling fan repair on their website. My policy indicated repais to my ceiling fan would be fully covered. When the technician came out I explained to him that the wall switch that operates the ceiling fan was not working properly. Less than 30 seconds into the service call he informed me that the problem would not be covered. But I still had to pay the $75 service fee. In May I had a problem with my smaller air conditioning unit not cooling. The AHS technician informed me that it needed freon, and if he were to add the freon it would cool for at least a year or two. I paid over $650 for the freon. By July the smaller air conditioning unit was again not working. So the $650 freon replacement barely lasted 2 months. In late July my smaller air conditioning unit was again not cooling. I requested a better air conditioning company, since the previous company had been out to my house twice and did not resolve the issue. The new air conditioning company indicated that a few items just needed cleaning. I paid $75 for this service call. Then 3 weeks later (August 2017) coincidentally both air conditioning units (5 ton and 2.5 ton) stopped working. One unit was manufactured in 2012 and the other 2014. The same company now said I needed a new evaporator coil and 9 pounds of freon in my larger unit and a new circuit board for my smaller unit. I paid $715 for these repairs. So in 3 weeks this "better" air conditioning company charged me almost $800. Then they called me and said they were so sorry but they installed the wrong equipment and they needed to come back. So after paying almost $800 my air conditioning system is still not repaired properly. As a result of the terrible customer service and the shady contractors I will be canceling my account with AHS. The only thing they are good at is debiting your checking account each month.

Very POOR result. I paid out $41 every month for almost a decade. When the time came to replace my 25-year old central A/C unit, all American Home Shield paid me back was about $350 for the central coil and "some" of the freon. DON\'T make the same mistake I did. Create your own savings plan. That way, you won\'t pay for your new A/C unit TWICE, like I did. I fought with AHS for an entire year and feel totally ripped off.

All of my experiences, as well as the most recent experience, with American Home Shield have been great. I'm impressed with the ease of scheduling the service and the contractor responded within 24 hours to set up appointment. The service person was very friendly and knowledgeable. I appreciated the fact that he took the time to thoroughly explain the problem and what the resolution would be.

One of the worst companies around. I had to end up paying for the hot water heater $1800. They attributed this to a pre existing condition even though it has been 15 days after we closed and moved in. I am going to change and get a another warranty even though they are all the same.

We have experienced Great customer service regarding AHS and the employees that we have worked with. There has been immediate response to the necessary service needs. We live in a rural area which is difficult to get to property and to have local AHS contractors. However AHS always provides us with the contractors we need in a timely manner. We have told many people and friends how well the company was run. Hopefully they will give AHS a try; the company is worth checking into. We are so glad told us about AHS. Pleased customers 2013-14

Be aware of the contractor that AHS sends for your repairs. I paid the initial service fee with a $75 Check and upon scheduling for the service AZ Plumbing told me to be sure to have cash, cashier's check or I could charge the service with an upcharge of 5% for the service. My check was good enough for the service fee but not the work. I called and stated that I wanted to pay with a check and they told me it was their company policy. I asked why didn't they tell me about their company policy before engaging in my business. I complained to AHS and finally I agreed to pay another $75 and use another contractor. The new contractor came and assessed the work and called AHS only to be surprised that they could not be authorized to do the service. The AHS customer service rep Mario told me I was required to do service the AZ plumbing or cashout. Through all of this my water heater pan over ran and leaked into my ceiling and ruined the drywall. Now I have additional repairs due to all of this confusion. My check was good enough for the service fee but not the work.

I felt like I was bullied by an American Home Shield contractor A Z Plumbing to pay in cash or be charged 5% upcharge for using a credit card. The AHS customer rep told me I couldn't use another contractor because they were approved and assigned to me. In the same day I got a call about my washer machine to inform me that I my account had been switched to another contractor from 3 Boys Plumbing to Sears. I felt I was lied to by their customer rep while the fact is they switched me to another contractor for another repair item. How is it that they can flex their rules on their behalf and not the behalf of the customer. My check was good enough for the service fee but not the work.
