Filed a repair, provided a model number, for an ice maker. The ice maker was not covered as it was not part of a fridge. Paid the $75.00 to learn that. Having provided the model, they should have never sent a repair person.

My covered refrigerator stopped working over a month ago. I\'ve had 3 different technicians come out and fail to fix the appliance. The most recent one also left big scratches in my cabinets. Despite over a month with no refrigerator and no service person able to fix it, AHS will still not replace the unit. It just goes on and on and on... I have spent hours on the phone (and on hold) with AHS, only for them to repeatedly read the same boilerplate responses to me. When they promise to call back with updates, they never do. I have never in my life dealt with a company in any industry or service area that is as bad as AHS. I would recommend in the strongest possible terms that anyone shopping for a home warranty avoid AHS. Update - I finally gave up and bought a new fridge myself. $2000 for something AHS is supposed to fix or replace.View Less

A/C went on on 7/3. We live in Texas where heat index was roughly 110 at the time. Called and placed a request. It was Monday 7/6 before a contractor contacted me and he said it would be 7/9 before he could make it out. Almost a week later. Called the AHS contractor and he said he would just have to come look and couldn't give me any kind of time frame on replacing it if that is what it needed. We wound up paying out of pocket for the replacement after 3 years with AHS because they flat our refused to do anything. I have since called 5 times and spent well over 6 hours on hold trying to cancel the policy, only for them to "transfer me to a personal cell phone" or they "cancellation department which is closed". I entered a requested about 11 p.m. via the computer and was assigned a plumber right away. Next morning I called the plumber and explained my situation. I had to call AHS to ask for expedited service and that was implemented immediately. Really thankful everything was taken care of in a quick and timely manner.

After losing over $500 in groceries in our refrigerator/freezer it took 4 weeks, 5 calls, and 3 different parts to try and fix. After running for 9 hours it apparently is still not working as the temperature in frig and freezer is not dropping to the set temps.

Wow this company has been absolutely awful. To make a long story short my entire house had a blockage in one of the drains. Everything that went down went back up through my shower onto my floor... yes it was bad water pouring through my house. I have a great warranty plan which does happen to cover plumbing! I called the company they requested I use originally and got them out that night they required I pay it full on site. I did that and now AHS is telling me they won't pay a dime towards it. They admit they do cover plumbing under my contract and they do offer emergency service. They still wont reimburse me anything though? I literally NEVER write reviews but I value integrity in a company and to be so intentionally screwed over I just feel people should know what they're buying. Also every time I called which was at least 5 times I waited over an hour and hold and got disconnected at least 3 times. I also got disconnected from a chat as well. Great customer service? very good, helped and repair set up. been with AHS on one house for 17 years and therefore got a policy on new home. currently have two active policies and am satisfied with the service on both. selling the old house with a policy for the buyer. would not do that if I did not think it was a good deal for us both.
