Cinch Home Services
I spent four months dealing with Cinch for a non-functioning circuit panel, and Cinch was extremely slow in providing updates. I called many times and was very frustrated with Cinch\'s customer service where I was often told to call back later. In the end they refused to fix the panel despite me sending them a letter from a professional electrician stating that the panel is not only non-functioning but also a safety hazard. Don't waste your money on them.

Overall AHS offers resolutions to problems. My biggest issue is that they do not pay contractors for dispatch fees on weekends so if you have a major problem it will not get resolved. I recently had a pipe back up which has now resulted in mold. I believe this could have been prevented had they come right away. My only other issue is the amount of time it takes to get someone on the phone.

The plumber tech was thorough in explaining the options for repairs and in testing the faucet unit. As a result the faucet has been working beautifully since. American home shield was very responsive and my overall experience was positive.

Thermostat was not powering up and we couldn\'t figure out why or how to fix. Qual Air came out and quickly fixed a clogged line that was causing an automatic shut off due to a clogged filter. They also showed how to fix it ourselves next time if it happens again. AHS dispatched the company quickly, problem fixed in 24 hours.

I have had AHS policy for over two years. During this period ,we needed services for AC, heating and kitchen appliances. AHS has responded promptly for every service call and has immediately assigned qualified local service providers to take-care of the issue. Overall, I am very satisfied from the value and quality of services provided by AHS.

Service oh AHS was good. However on the last two service calls the service company took over 3 weeks to fix the problem, and only because I called them

Overall the service we have received has been pretty good. Consumer needs to understand that the service companies used are mostly small/private businesses. We run into a few problems where the contractor never calls, or is unresponsive to calls. For instance, our main compressor went out in January. We called it in on a Friday and had a serviceman at the house by Monday. Upon diagnosis and approval, the new compressor was available for pickup and install on Wednesday. I informed the contractor on Thursday because he had yet to contact us to set up an appointment. The crickets for 9 more days until I called him again. There was absolutely no sense of urgency on the part of the contractor to take care of the issue. AHS was not much help either. This outage resulted in 3+ weeks of damned cold days and nights and $1,000 in electricity increase. Just a friendly warning, stay on top of your repair. If you don’t, nobody else seems to.

We had a leak in our basement and needed service asap. My husband and I tried calling AHS 4 times...each time we sat on hold for 1 hour + and the resolution was that they couldn\'t get anyone to us for another 3 days.

I\'ve lived in my home for just a year, and I\'ve filed two claims on two different problems. Both times, my problem was solved by courteous professionals with no cost beyond my deductible.

I am very disappointed by the staff of Appliance Magic. After three attempts the Dryer is still not working properly. My family member’s valuable cloths, burned due to excessive heat as the thermostat regulator is not working properly. Thank God we still have a house as overheating and smoke caused by the dryer fill the entire house. Luckily we got the matter under control before smoke turned into fire. Much to my regret, the technician recommended that we should get the dryer vent cleaned. I spent $170 on getting the vent cleaned and on replacement of flexible vent extension from the back of the dryer that the technician smashed by pulling the dryer forward too many times. I have called AHS several times in the last three days and spoke with various persons and requested that the problem be resolved. As of writing this email, the problem still persist and the vendor is unresponsive. I spoke with Olda and floor supervisor Gene in the San Antonio and this morning (9/3/2015) with Cathy in TX. They both could not offer help but pretty much read the standard script to me. Managers are put in place to make decisions and think out of the box solution rather than reading from a script, which any low level employee can do as well. I have been with AHS for 15 years and company made thousands of dollars profit from me but when I needed help I am pretty much getting the silent treatment. Third week without a dryer… the assigned vendor cannot come out to the house until Tuesday next week.

The holidays are always a bit wild here, as I am a nurse and my fiancé is a firefighter- Our schedules rarely allow us to celebrate on the holiday itself OR with family. On Thanksgiving, as I am rushing to make our traditional dinner, my oven decided it would cease working. I was able to call in a service request and get PJ's (Bowie, MD) out here almost immediately, even with the snow we had. They were unable to fix the oven that day, but came out the first thing the following morning with the part and had it installed and back out of the house within 10 minutes! It took longer for them to unload their tools. The 2 gentlemen who came were extremely courteous and professional. Our dinner was delay a couple days, but we ended up being able to have it and enjoy it because of their quick response.

I am not sure how any one can give this company even one star this have been the most difficult and unresponsive company that I ever experienced. I had a water stoppage in the Kitchen sink. called for serviced. got a company who is called (C&P plumbing, Inc,) 3/30/15 and reported Unstopped kitchen sink after they snaked the pipe. Few days later notice water leaking under the kitchen in the basement. Called AHS and C&P came back and indicated no leak caused by the pipe. leak continued. AHS sent a new contractor 7-15-15 (JED Plumbing &Gas) who indicated. " Kitchen sink pipe is broken-- pipe is leaking under ground since contractor snaked pipe 3-30-15. I have been unable to use my kitchen sink since this, calling AHS and waiting for call back that never happened. they just do not care, not willing to authorize JED company to fix the problem and the C& P company supervisor is not answering not reachable. If I call a contractor they AHS will not cover, they are not making C&P accountable to fix the issue and not willing to authorize JED to do the job End result, I am unable to use my kitchen sink since 3/30/15 still waiting for a call back as of this Morning after holding for 1 hr. How can any one give the AHS any stars!!

It has been about five years since I had to call over something major. My A/C unit went out. Had it not been for American Home Shield, it would have set me back over $ 2600.00. I gladly pay each year to sleep better at night knowing I have the coverage. I pay in three installments and this also helps with my budget.

The only thing That I have is that the AHS website is not user friendly. I should be able to see my previous repairs listing and the report provided by the repairing company. This is doesn't exist. Sometimes the problem I have is not listed on the list of type of repair needed their should be a place where I can list other kind of repair needed. lots of times you can not access the website to request repair then you have to call and be on the phone for a while until you get an alive operator. these are things if corrected AHS will be the best warranty Co. in the USA.

Very poor company. Had two plumbing leaks, and was told that fixing a pipe was not a covered service. The company is terrible. I even called them once, and they were unable to interpret my contract.

Old Republic Home Protection
My warranty was purchased by the closing firm as an incentive to close the purchase of our home with them. What a disappointment! Our Lenox air conditioner is not working and Old Republic sent a company out to do the repairs. We paid the $100 service charge and then discovered that the system's air handler unit needs to be replaced. To have the covered unit replaced, we were told we had to pay $789. This amount would cover disposal of the old unit and the refrigerant and any duct work or electrical upgrade required. Also, the air handler replacing the Lenox would be "Contractor Grade" at a cost of $1,027.50. After talking to the service provider, we decided to take the $1,027.50 and put it towards an entirely new system. Of course this will cost us more out of pocket but would give us a much more reliable, cost efficient system and should ultimately save Old Republic the cost of replacing the old compressor unit if that too should fail. Today, I received a call from Old Republic saying they had made a mistake. I am only receiving $902.50 to cover the cost of the new air handler unit. I was told by four different Old Republic agents that I would receive $1,027.50 and now, after we decide to take the payoff, I am told the amount is lower. They made a mistake! If we had allowed Old Republic to handle the service, we would have paid a total of $1,014.00 for a substandard unit under want in my opinion is a very bad warranty. Look else where for a home warranty. Old Republic is a rip off!
