I called on May 17, 2022 to schedule a service appointment. I was on hold for 1 hour and 45 minutes. When I finally got customer service on the line. He didn’t speak English well and he didn’t provide a confirmation number for the appointment. Not only that he disconnected the call. I purchased a 3 year warranty and this is my first time calling. I am requesting a full refund on my warranty purchase. I will have my washer repaired by another company. This is the worst customer service I have ever had and will not purchase from Lowe’s in the future.

Cross Country administers Sears Home Warranty contracts which we recently used for a dishwasher repair. The DW was repaired after more than 6 weeks due to parts needing to be ordered. The actual repair took less than 1/2 hour. There is absolutely NO communication from them. The only way to get status information is to call the toll free number, then listen to the recording that states long wait times due to COVID-19. So for more than 6 months they haven’t figured out how to answer customer calls. Most places now let you leave a number for them to return your call. Once you finally get a live person on the phone, they are clueless! No one knows anything about your claim and they don’t communicate with their own staff. The only person that actually knew anything was the repairman. After many calls over many days and hours no one ever gave me accurate information. One appointment was made but never kept. When I called to question, was told there was still a part on backorder however no one felt they needed to let us know that information. A day of work missed waiting on a repairman that didn’t show. We have had this contract for several years but their terrible customer service left me no option but to cancel my contract. I don’t know how they have any customers at all.

Moved here June 1st. Our first home! Our american homeshield warranty was purchased as a gift for us! It has been a Godsend. We have already had to use it at least 4 times. I only had onecreoresentative that i was not pleased with. Every other person that i have spoken with had been terrific, knowledgeable and swift in helping. Because of this I have no home worries. Onky one time i was referred to a repair company that i was absolutely not pleased with. When i let American Homeshield knowvthis, they rectified the situation. So far, i could not be more pleased.

I have had a Home Warranty with American Home Shield for over 10 years and for the most part it has been good warranty plan. Some of the contractors they use are good but others are not so good. Recently I had American Home Shield send a contractor to repair my hot water heater and the contractor made an adjustment to it and said to call him back directly if it didn't fix the problem because they are suppose to come back out FREE of charge if the problem was not fixed. The problem continued with the hot water heater so I tried calling the contractor back many times and left many voicemail messages but never heard back from them. I finally had to call American Home Shield about the issue and they assigned a new contractor to come out and fix the continuing problem with my hot water heater. I have also recently had an issue with American Home Shield charging me twice for the same service and it took over a month to get it corrected. I had to call them at least 8-9 times and each time I spoke with a different customer service representative, I was assured the problem was fixed and then it wasn't the next time I checked my account on their website. I think the issue is the quality of the people that staff their Customer Service Center. Every time I call it appears they are reading directly from a script and don't really know how to assist people. Also, most of the customer service representatives do not speak good English and it is very hard to explain a problem to them when they keep asking you to repeat yourself and then when they provide a response, it is hard to understand what they are trying to tell you. Overall, in the ten plus years I have had American Home Shield, they have been good overall but they need to screen the contractors they hire better and provide more training too their Customer Service Representatives.

If I could rate American Home Shield and their selected vendor less than one star, I would. I recently purchased a home, and the seller was generous enough to purchase a home warranty to ensure everything would be covered. Three weeks after closing, the air conditioning unit stopped working during the hottest week of the year. I called AHS, who in turn referred me to their vendor United Air Temp. The vendor could not give me a time window, so I took an entire day off of work. I never received an update on an ETA from the vendor until approximately 6pm. He arrived half an hour later, looked at the unit, said the line was frozen and he would have to come back later. Not only had I waited all day for him to show up, he was unwilling to wait even 20 minutes for the line to clear (it was 92 degrees outside), was very unprofessional and rude when I told him I had already taken a day off of work. Fortunately, I was able to have a local company come out, run diagnostics an fix the unit. Unfortunately, AHS never returned my call, and I was charged $75.00 for "service" that did not happen, because, by the time the vendor called me to reschedule, I had the unit fixed. Bottom line, AHS is a waste of money. I appreciate the seller getting the coverage, but I will not be using this company, or it's vendors again, and definitely will not be renewing this policy. I’ve only had 2 calls. One for a broken pool pump and 1 for a leaking pipe under the sink. Both times it was covered and fixed promptly with no issues. So I have high hopes if anything else goes wrong. Fingers crossed.
