I went online to report the heating failure at midnight and 9 AM the next morning a technician calls up to schedule a repair time the next day. The technician came when said he would and It was fixed. It ended up being a bad thermostat which was replaced and it only cost $75. How could it be better than that?

I have used AHS for a number of years, once I let myself be talked into dropping the coverage, and that year I had to replace a heat pump. Ended up buying a used one that was installed and worked for a few years. It was eventually replaced by AHS when parts were no longer available for the used one. I also tried another company that offered lower rates and lower co-pay. What a gross mistake, they refused to do any preventive work and then would refuse service if the preventive maintenance wasn't done. With AHS, I have had nothing but outstanding service from friendly, knowledgeable professionals. I cannot recommend them strongly enough.

Last couple of claims have the \'this thing is a racket\' feel to them. Water heater gave out and filed a claim. Contractor agreed and said it needed to be replaced. AHS contacted me advising there would be an out of pocket chargeof $425 for \'lines adjustment; water, vent, gas\' but hey..the WH is covered. When contractors came to do the work I wanted to see what $425 would get me. Vent line adjustment = sliding the WH a little farther from the wall to align with the existing vent stack (30 seconds, water line adjustment = replacing copper lines they cut from old unit with what looked like quick connect PVC lines and that probably took 30 minutes or so, Gas line = they did nothing but connect existing line to the new WH. bang.. $425.

If you want my honest opinion, I feel like I have wasted thousands of dollars on AHS. I have had them for almost 13 years and have only had to use them a hand full of times, ALL of which were NOT covered but maybe 2 of them! Its exhausting! A waste of time and a waste of money. I am not one to complain or ever whine about a company or even leave a negative review but I needed to be honest, even if it hurts my soul.
