Awesome techs!! But the deliverable from corporate was terrible. My claim was in February, but just because the company didn\'t have an igniter, my other 2 issues were placed on hold to satisfy the insurance companies cost. As the customer I don\'t care about the insurance company\'s cost. I care about my comfort. Especially since I\'m paying into the company

What a great experience from the work order submission to the repair. AHS makes it easy and they are a pleasure to deal with. My garage door opener broke Saturday afternoon. I called AHS who quickly assigned a repair vendor who came on Monday and fixed my problem. The vendor was courteous and professional. I have had AHS coverage for over 10 years and it has paid for itself every year. AHS does a great job selecting and screening their vendors. The vendors provide quality repairs and are always courteous and professional. AHS is a great value and hassle free!

The overall quality of service provided by American Home Shield is outstanding; however, some of the service providers minimize the quality of service. My latest service request to multiple properties was very good in most cases when the repair can be accomplished that same day. Whenever the service request requires additional time for repair, order parts and/or determine replacement tend to downgrade the service received.

DO NOT GET THIS INSURANCE. My air conditioning broke because of a worker THEY SENT me. They did not fix the root problem and made it worse, eventually it fully broke. I had to pay for them to BRAKE IT? INSANE! I called the insurance to fix it but they said they don\'t have a worker living in my area because he\'s on VACATION. They told me I have to wait until he gets OUT of vacation so he can fix it. This is UNBELIEVEABLE and UNACCEPTABLE. Who knows when his vacation ends. It is 90 DEGREES in my house and I have two children who are SUFFERING from this. I ADVISE YOU TO NOT GET THIS INSURANCE. THEY DO NOT SEND IMMEDIATE HELP. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT GET THIS INSURANCE!

Save your money, it\'s a RACKET! When your AC goes out, "5 business days" just to send a technician to inspect is unacceptable. Then another 5 to approve the work. AC needed to be replaced but since they don\'t make units with the old refrigerant, AHS considers it an upgrade which of course they won\'t cover. Wasted time and money with AHS.

American Home Shield is an awesome home warranty service. I have used them on three occasions and each time the service has been phenomenal. I plan to maintain my home warranty as long as I own my home. It is so much less expensive than having to pay for major repairs when you least expect them.

Because I have used the service several times this year I got a letter in the mail about a new plan. I\'ve been with this company for a few years. I called and I was told my plan will be going up to almost $1200.00 for the next year. Are you joking me. When my contract is up I am gone. Already have another plan ready to start when I am done with this contract. I was getting ready to find another warranty company, because waiting on the phone for almost two hours to speak to someone is not a good way to run a business. More and more of the company's that are contracted under American Home Shield are getting bad ratings. They do not stand by you when one of their contractors screws up.

I have used the warranty several times over the last 17 years and I have always been pleased with my experience. Recently , I had my A/C out during 90 plus degree days with company coming. They called 5 companies and paid for emergency service to get someone out ASAP... they went above and beyond. I feel this is money well spent.

American home shield is a great home warranty company, however, I was disappointed with the assigned contractor. The contractor arrived, told me that I had a water leak, collected the trade fee and left. Nothing was done to determine what was causing the leak or an attempt to fix it. He advised me that it would cost about $400. To repair the leak. Turned out, I only had a loose connection. I contacted AHS and am very pleased with the Customer Service person. She was very concerned and gave me a pass on the next trade fee. AHS is my go to in the future for home repairs.

We’ve held multiple AHS residential contracts over the past 25 years spanning 4 houses. If we knew then what we know now, we'd have taken the $590 per year premium and put it into a rainy day savings fund and we’d be far better off today! Truth in advertising. AHS does handle disposals, microwave ovens, and refrigerators fairly well and we have no complaints in those areas. These are the small-ticket items that are nice to have covered but aren't why you have a home warranty. You stick with the warranty because that big ticket HVAC system or water heater that could fail at any time scares you. Unfortunately AHS won’t help you like you’d think and what little help AHS gives you will be after a painful, frustrating, and inconvenient process. Also, you won’t always get the best or most reputable companies responding to your repair requests. AHS is at the bottom of repair company priority lists and these companies will try to sell you on more repairs and services to make their effort profitable. Here’s our first-hand experience with AHS and Major system issues: The HVAC system in our 30 year old house had a major component failure plus some other minor issues (leaks). The minor issues required repair calls monthly for about 3 months until the major failure. We thought, OK, this is why we've paid the premiums on this home warranty all these years! We'll get a new HVAC system for little to nothing. Not so fast. AHS continued to piece-meal the repairs, authorizing one company they dispatched to use non-OEM parts to try to fix this antiquated piece of gear which, according to the AHS contract, would then void the warranty. This same repair company, seeing a lame-duck opportunity, offered to replace the entire system because they stated AHS wouldn't authorize replacement of the entire system and in their expert opinion the system would continue to fail due to its age. Their offer was outrageously priced, adding insult to injury. After suffering multiple days of mid-summer heat and humidity getting other repair/replacement quotes, we ended up using a completely different company to replace the entire system. AHS coughed up a measly $1000 for an $9000 job! We also maintained an AHS warranty on another property built in 1986 (warranty for 13 years at $550/year = $7100). We experienced a very similar situation with the HVAC system at this property. Again, we attempted to work through the AHS process, having repair companies come out every 30 days to refill the refrigerant, but never receiving authorization from AHS to find or repair the cause/leaks. The system eventually died, and again AHS would not authorize the entire system be replaced, but to piece-meal repairs until it got to the point where we were paying $75 every month on top of the monthly premium, on top of the inconvenience of not having AC in the middle of the summer for days at a time, on top of having to miss work every time to be home with the repairman. We again paid an outside company to replace the entire system, all out of pocket. Frustration mounting! Finally, the electric water heater (50 gal) failed. You'd think this would be a simple one...rust and water oozing out of the sides of the tank equals put a new tank in. However, the company AHS dispatched indicated the water heater was not to code and to replace it would cost $1000. We contacted AHS and asked if we could get a second opinion and they said no (even though our contract stipulates we could). We did anyway and found out that both AHS and the company they dispatched were not honorable. The code issue included adding a 2 gallon pressure tank ($45 @ The Home Depot) and an optional catchment pan ($19 @ The Home Depot) under the tank. A new tank cost $298 (@ The Home Depot). So what AHS should have covered was the tank and labor and we should have only had to cover the not-to-code item, i.e. the pressure tank and optional pan. We shared our experiences with the local AHS sales rep who markets to realtors to convince sellers to buy a warranty as an enticement. We asked for her assistance with the water heater situation. It's been 4 weeks and we haven't received any response. Bottom line: AHS may be good at fixing the little things, but when you need them the most (and why we stayed with them), they FAILED repeatedly! We are cancelling the warranties on our properties and our real estate company will never recommend AHS to any clients!

I DO NOT EVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. They used to be the best company around but something has changed drastically over the last several years. John in Authorization REFUSED to let me speak with a supervisor or manager regarding a suggestion I had for them that would be helpful for their company; It was in regards to them sending out a contractor for my refrig in the garage but after we waited for nearly 2 weeks to get service, the contractor came out and notified the company of repairs needed and old republic just now notified us that that frig is not covered...after all this time. Yes, maybe if I read thru the fine details I would have seen that it only covered one. So I was going to suggest that they notify homeowners or warn them of a secondary frig possibly not being covered when you submit the service request...that's all I wanted to do. There was absolute total refusal on John's part to let me do this and he argued with me over why I would like to speak with one and told me their was no customer service department that would be interested in my call. Unbelievable is all I can say. I have been with this company for years and will never recommend . The contractors they sent us take forever to call and come out. Something has gone wrong with this company and it's a shame.

AHS Customer service is OK, Ashley was really nice and almost sounded like she was remorseful for how they are supposed to deal with us. UNITED AIR TEMP Cooling and Plumbing is the WORST company I have EVER dealt with, so bad they changed there name adding the "cooling and plumbing" to the end of it. Tried to write the AH up under warranty and wanted me to pay 5400 for a 3.5 13 seer goodman compressor. The goodman compressor retailed for 1500.00 Really do people think we are that dumb? or are they taking advatage of the heat wave? Thank goodness there are reputable people, Carrier 13 seer qouted for AH and Compressor at 5200 installed.

One of the worst consumer experiences in my life...10+ weeks (and still counting)for these unprofessional clowns to fix a washer. Unbelievable. We wash our clothes in the bathtub because of AHS incompetence. The only reason I'm dealing with them at all is because we are renting and the home owners use their services. Everything I've read about AHS in the other bad reviews here are TRUE. DON'T SPEND YOUR MONEY ON AMERICAN HOME SHIELD. It's a scam.
