I received a bill (bill dated 10/26/2021) from A&E Factory Service (also went by the company name of Sears) for a repair service (service date: 10/25/2021) for my refrigerator, in the amount of $99. On 11/15/2021, I called American Home Shield (AHS) Home Warranty to inform them of & dispute the bill. I spoke with Sam, the AHS phone representative, who stated that he had spoken with A&E Factory Service and assured me that I do not need to do/pay anything. Sam confirmed that I had already paid the service fee to AHS Home Warranty; therefore, I do not need to pay A&E Factory Service, who AHS Home Warranty had dispatched to my home to complete the refrigerator repair service. However, I received a collection notice, dated December 16, 2021, from Receivable Management Services (RMS), LLC for the amount of $99. I contacted AHS Home Warranty, again, and was told that my case would be escalated to the supervisor. This representative (I do not have the representative’s name) promised to call me back with an update within 24 hours. I never received that follow-up phone call. On 2/14/2022, I called AHS Home Warranty, yet again, and spoke with Mila, the AHS phone representative, who was very rude. I was transferred around twice before I finally spoke with Hazel, the Escalation Department, who stated that she would forward my case to the Contractor Relations Department. Hazel also stated that she will call me back with the status. I have received follow-up phone calls from Hazel, stating that there was still no response from the Contractor Relations Department, but after February 25, 2021 (the last follow-up phone call), the follow-up phone calls just stopped. I had previously informed Hazel that it was very difficult for me to talk on the phone, because of my job. I work for healthcare, and within a call center, so it was/is very difficult for me to make outgoing phone calls and/or answer incoming phone calls. I have also been working over-time due to the COVID pandemic; therefore, this inconvenience is more of an inconvenience to me to have this head-ache dragged on for so long, which was very unnecessary to begin with if AHS had employees who were accountable. On February 26, 2022, I tried to contact Hazel to inquire about the status of the escalated case that was submitted to the Contractor Relations Department. I spoke with a female representative (did not get the representative’s name), who stated that she was unable to directly connect me with Hazel; however, she would send a message for Hazel to contact me back. It is now March 14, 2022, and I have yet to receive a follow-up phone call from Hazel, the Escalation Department, nor the Contactor Relations Department. My credit is very important to me. I pay my bills the day after I receive them. I have a perfect credit score. I don’t want this one little mistake, from American Home Shield, to ruin the credit that I work so hard to maintain. Just because the contractor, who American Home Shield had dispatched, were unknowledgeable about the process/procedures of payment/reimbursement between both companies. I would like for this minor problem, which turned out to be an unnecessarily-lengthy issue, to be resolved once and for all. I would also like a confirmation that this issue has been resolved, so that I can submit to the credit reporting agencies.

I have had an AHS contract for a year and half with no service call until last week. We called for a technician and sent pictures with a description of the issue we were having. A couple of days later, the technician showed up, stood right by the foyer, looked up and said this won’t be covered by your contract. Mind you, we spoke over the phone, sent pictures of the problem that he came to look at two days prior. And now, I’m down $125 with no service. Calling AHS was a waist of time.

I was with them for over 10 years. The quality of work is excellent. The speed of response for service calls is excellent. The coverage is wide and I never had any problem with them saying an item is not covered in over 10 years. Those are the positives. The negatives are: - They will keep patching up an equipment till the very end to ensure they don't have to pay to replace. - When they do have to replace the ceiling will get you a replacement but usually not a quality replacement. On my AC unit for example that finally failed, I ended up paying for a quality system totally out of pocket with no credit. - If you don't pay attention you will sign up for a package that covers a number of items that are not in your home and as a result you are paying a higher premium because of that. Better to go with another company that covers just what you need for a much lower premium at a lower deductible (service call fee). - If you ever decide to cancel, they will charge you a fee (approx $75) and they don't tell you this until they have completed the cancelation process and you are out the system. They really should disclose this up front. This is with 10+ years of payments. - The plans auto renew with price increase each year and no advance notice of price increase. I literally did not know the price was increasing until this year. This was the reason for my cancelation.

They totally screwed me! Failed to fix my dryer, then washed their hands of it when my warranty expired. I’ll never use this service again. Not at all worth it. Avoid at all costs.

I have used the American Home Shield protective insurance on a number of home issues including electrical problems, plumbing problems, HAVC issues, etc. I have also used other home warranty companies in the past, and I have had less hassle using AHS\'s service than other companies, and experienced no broken promises like reneging on agreements experienced with other companies, and no problems using American Home Shield. Their automated on-line service has worked exceptionally well, and all the service companies arrived on time and were extremely efficient in finding the problem and fixing it. I am pretty critical, but I have to admit I have experienced no problems with American Home Shield, and their service has been excellent. I will continue to use them.

I called for service on a couple of slow draining drains, the service guy came right when he said. He was very pleasant, got my drains flowing freely and made some very good suggestions on how to keep them clogging without using harsh chemicals which could harm the pipes. Totally worth the cost which was only the service fee.

I had 5 contractors to come to my home to repair my stove top. Every and each one of them said; we will come back to repair and never seen them again. This has been going on for 2 months. I called today to check on my last contractor to see what is going on; the operator told me I need to order a part and he connected me to their part department; I was on hold for 15 minutes. I had to hang up. Unbelievable. I am beyond upset.

I am very disappointed on my last service that I received for my A/C unit that I was told by the technician that the permanent fix is to replace it, but when AHS called me they got a different story that it can be repaired but failed to acknowledge that the problem will reoccur again.

They need to vet their contractors better. There is no reason it takes 11 days to fix a leaky toilet, especially when it only needs a flapper. Unbelievable. There is no way I\'m paying a $75 service charge for a plumber that can\'t replace a $5 flapper in acceptable timeframe. I asked to speak with AHS supervisor on 3 separate times, and they still haven't gotten back to me... I contacted the plumbing company and they still haven't return our calls, just found out that they should have it in another 4 days. Enough! A trip to Lowes and I fixed it in a few mins.
