First Premier Home Warranty

Most expensive, unethical racket in Home Warranty business. Bought a 6 year, $2,500 warranty. (Monthly cost: $34.72 a month). Had 2 claims. Both deemed irreparable. Fought for 25% and, 10% for payouts! Cancelled after 10 months. Had to fight to get a $600 refund!!! Expected around $2,150 for 10 months.

Terrible! Don\'t do it! I bought the extended warranty and had to have our dishwasher repaired twice. They scheduled me three weeks out. Three weeks without a dishwasher and six kids is a long time. This repair company was the only one I could use. These guys worked out of their house. I\'d call and they would seldom answer. The first guy that crane it didn't know how to do the repair, and he had to have a co worker finish the job.

Coverage not always clear on certain appliances--for instance top sprayer on a dishwasher not covered. I would think this apparatus is a necessary part to the efficient operation of the machine!

From the time I made the service request to the replacement of the appliance every detail was quickly dealt with. The communication with AHS was excellent. Sears was a little slow in their initial response, but once the repair visit was scheduled things went well. I'm very pleased with this and my previous service request

The A/C unit had stopped working and it was suppose to be over 100 degrees again that day. I called AHS, went thru the auto service, received the name of the company that was being called out for my service. I recieved a call back from the company within 15 minutes to schedule service, they were here 2 hours later and fixed the unit. The company, Horst Heating, was fast, friendly and very efficient.

Since the heat went out on the weekend and I have an infant in the house it was an emergency. I first tried to file the claim on the phone but there was no way to say it was an emergency to the computer. I than tried to file the claim on the web but again I had no way to say it was an emergency. I eventually filed via the automated phone system and called customer service to find out how to make it an emergency situation. I have very little hope that this would be addressed quickly and I would be stuck without heat for many days. But after a short discussion with the very pleasant operator I was notified it would be upgraded to an emergency situation. She quickly and efficiently gave me a contact company and phone number. The company called very early the next day and came out immediately. There was a defective part that needed to be ordered. The part arrived in about two days and they installed it immediately. The service tech was very friendly and courteous.

American Home Shield (AHS)

Our AC went out on Sunday evening, 7/14, during triple digit temps. I attempted to place a claim online, but their online service would not let me, so I called in the claim. A technician came to my house the next day, and as I suspected, the compressor had seized. Our unit was old (1996) and the technician recommended replacing the entire unit. To my surprise, AHS approved it. I immediately called them back and asked if they could put a rush on it as we have two small animals at home. They also authorized that. I started calling on Wednesday to find out where the AC was at and nobody could tell me. Each day I talked to a different representative, each day they told me they would call me back with status. Each day, nobody did. We moved into our 5th wheel on Friday just to escape the heat and discovered on Monday, 7/22 that he HVAC had been in Kent, WA (a mere 3 1/2 drive away) since Friday, 7/19. The AC was finally installed today and then I was informed that AHS did not cover getting rid of the old AC unit as that is my responsibility. Throughout all of this, the only thing AHS has offered to offset the extra monies I have paid out trying to survive this summer without AC is a whopping $75 reimburse for a hotel room and $125 reimbursement toward the purchase of a window AC unit while I waited for my replacement unit to arrived. I informed the rep today that while I was disposing of my AC unit I would be disposing of AHS as well. I will not be renewing my contract with them. There service has gotten progressively worse over the 10 years I have been doing business with them.
