Home Warranty of America has a committed customer service team to help its customers with their service requests. It also offers 24/7 emergency services. Contractors are typically assigned as soon as a claim is filed. If you do not hear from the service provider within 24 hours, HWA will provide you with the contractor’s number so that you can contact them directly. Appointments are mostly set within 48 hours from placing the service request.
Once an appointment is fixed, the contractor arrives at your home to perform the repair or replacement. They will diagnose the problem and if required call HWA’s Authorization Department to confirm the coverage and obtain authorization to proceed with the repair or replacement. Most repairs are completed during this service call. You need to pay the contractor the service call fee or the actual cost of the service (whichever is lesser). Appointments are typically fixed during normal business hours.
Sometimes, the parts required to be replaced may not be available or the equipment required may not be available. In such cases, it may take 5-7 business days to get the parts or equipment. Once the parts or equipment has arrived, the service technician will get in touch with you to schedule an appointment and complete the repair/ replacement. HWA has a nationwide network of local, prescreened contractors to attend to service requests.
HWA home warranty has a service recall period of 30 days for labor and 90 days for parts. This means that if the problem recurs within this period due to one of the following reasons, you will not need to pay another service call fee.
