It is nice to post complaints on a public forum to vent, but if you want something actually done you need to file complaints against Allied Home Warranty with the state agency that licenses them. Search for "texas real estate residential service program" and look for the file a complaint link. Also file a complaint with the Texas Attorney General's Office for deceptive trade practices. Both of these actions will require Allied Home Warranty to legally respond. Here is how the Allied Home Warranty scam works; they over inflate the estimate for the cost of repairs and give you a small token allowance toward that amount, but only if you use their vendor, which is owned by the same company as Allied Home Warranty. You cannot use your own vendor even though they will do it for a fraction of the cost Allied wants. It is cheaper for you to just hire your own vendor and forget you wasted your money buying what you thought was a warranty. Or the other part of their scam is just to deny coverage and claim it would be a "modification" instead of a repair and modifications aren't covered. FYI, their one-page contract is so vague that it doesn't legally require them to do anything. I showed it to several attorneys that laughed when they read it. Oh, the one part of the contract they will enforce is that part that prohibits you from suing them. ..View less

I called the same tech that installed it and was told the compressor burned up (14 yrs. old). So I ordered a new one, what else could I do? I then called Allied to make a claim and after being on the phone with a rep. then a supervisor for over 1 hour was told they would not honor my policy "because I did not call them first!" I live in a remote area of Texas and after much discussion was told they do not have a technician in my area but could send one in 48 hours. If you live in Texas, you realize no one can go without A/C for 48 hours when the temp is 106-108 in the middle of July. I am 76 years old and live alone with no one to help. This company would not even discuss a compromise or try to work out a plan. In fact, they outright refused to discuss it with me further. They are an absolute Rip-Off!!! Don't do business with them because they will find a way out of paying their claims. As it stands now, I will be paying out of pocket for a new unit. Again----DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH ALLIED HOME WARRNTY!!!!! ..View less

So I am told to get my own bids and response in 24-48 hours. I sent my a/c man...4 days later am told he was denied since he works at an address that is mixed with residential. So I get another bid and a 3rd bid. Sent and told answer by end of business day. 2 days later vendor denied because he went by bid from THEIR vendor and my denied vendor and did not go to the property. #1 another service fee for me to pay #2 they continue saying they will see if their vendor will price match. When denied I express my frustration, how they are abusing 3rd parties by doing this when they don't intend to hire them and he used THEIR VENDOR INFO TO BID. I was told supervisor would call me in 30 minutes on returning to lunch..by guy who said by end of business day 2 days ago...That was at noon today. It is now almost 10 pm, still waiting on the call. Tenant out of air conditioning TEN DAYS NOW! How I wish I had read these reviews before my seller bought this policy for me. By the way, vendor sent a kid out who when asked what was wrong said freon leak. I asked if he found where the leak was. Answer "No, I just required a replacement so I didn't check". I mentioned the leak might be from the coil or a line? Tenant complained of loud noise. He says "I didn't hear no noise". It seems noise comes when it gets hot and he didn't stay that long. This is a scam and that is an understatement. I intend to spread the work through the entire Real Estate Community! ..View less

I can't begin to explain how frustrated I am with Allied Home Warranty (AHW). The vendors they send to the house are very incompetent or they have grievances with AHW and choose to end their working relationship with them. EXAMPLES: When we had AHW air conditioner vendor come to the house to do a maintenance/ checkup they blew out my lines and messed them up so badly that my ceiling caved in. ( I just had a new kitchen remodel) After they repaired that, they said they can't fix it and collected their $60.00 and said a plumber had to fix the drainage pipe...another $60.00 fee .... The plumber was old and said he didn't think he could climb over to where the pipe went and left without repairing it, however, he collected another $60.00 for coming out. My son and I climbed up into the attic and found the clog at a 45 degree turn and repaired it our-selves! Oh and I'm 56 yrs old. The pool repair vendor is another story ...I called AHW and put in a claim for my pool pump, the pool vendor came out and said I needed a new pump. They took the $60.00 and left. After no word from them, I called them and they said Allied Home Warranty doesn't pay their vendors but they will take care of me. They came by and installed a pump incorrectly. I called AHW and they said the vendor was not working with them anymore and left me with a non-repaired pool. AHW said I had to find my own pool company to fix it and they MIGHT reimburse me minus another $60.00 service fee. HA ! These are only small samples of how they have disappointed me in the past and present and why I am changing my home warranty. I should have done it long ago !! Don't be a fool like I was and fall for the cheaper service deductible, You WILL PAY for it in the end. I am a real person with no other agenda except to save others the grief I am going through. I have had three vendors say bad things about AHW and urge me to change. When the vendors complain to the customers about Allied Home Warranty, that should speak volumes! I'm listening now !! God bless, and I hope this helps you make a wise and informed decision about a home warranty company. ..View less

Anyway, the serial numbers identified manufacture dates of 2012 in the 26th and 27th weeks (end June and beginning July), so still under warranty. They offered me a bid of $3,300 and Allied would pay only $750 TOTAL. My guess is that the plumber gets about what the other plumber bid and Allied gets a kickback of $1,000 (net profit to Allied of $250). Turns out there's a reset button these guys didn't even try!!! Home Depot parking lot guys, no doubt. Allied is a scammer and their contractors are scammers. All home warranties are a SCAM!!! ..View less

We insisted on a new vendor for that. Now about a week ago we had a gas leak in our water heater and stove (both are very old) I called Allied on Saturday, on monday I tried calling the company assigned (they assigned a rooter company for both problems???) and the company was out of business, I called allied and they reassigned it. But they had no other plumber in the area so luckily we were able to call our own. As far as the stove we still have yet to set up a initial visit and last wednesday they reassigned it to Preferred AC that we had before and I asked them to do someone else but they said this is the only person possible. We could not get in contact with the appliance guy until today (no answer thurs and fri) and Preferred said they hadn't confirmed the work with Allied yet! We called Allied and they never fricking sent the work order!! Do not use Allied. They are awful. ..View less

They NEVER checked the Freon or checked for leaks. One month after renewing the AHW I called the NRG rep. He quoted the price at double what he had initially said it would cost if my system went out!!! Then stated that AHW does not pay for MOST of the costs. This is NOT what he told me 6 months ago, and NOT what the SALES person at AHW told me but now he has all kinds of excuse as to why it is more. AHW will not stand behind what they quoted me, it is August in Houston, 98 degrees and heat index 106. I am disabled and have pets. This warranty is a rip off, huge liars and just a shame! Note: the last time I called regarding a shower faucet leak, NRG guy tries to TOTALLY rip me off. Just by LOOKING at the shower knob told me it was a $395 repair. I had that same faucet repaired several years earlier by AHW and it was $60 builders grade faucet!!!!!! I threw that NRG rep out of my house, called and they sent another one, he fixed it as I said BUILDERS GRADE $60.... not sure who is the biggest rip off NRG lies to up charge and get money in their pockets or AHW lies to get your renewal and has no intention of repairing the major things when they go out. My experience with them, RUN AWAY NOW, SAVE YOURSELF from the hassle . I just spoke to AHW they stated NOW that they will only pay MAX $1500 toward ANY AC replacement. I WAS NEVER TOLD THIS WHEN I PURCHASED the warranty. I was TOLD it would be COVERED!!!!! Again horrible company. I am HOLDING a POLICY that states NO LIMITS. The AHW rep said they changed the policy November of last year and informed customers through email. I NEVER RECEIVED the email and this year ONLY received an INVOICE, so MY POLICY is NO LIMITS and my AC should be covered as so. AHW WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THIER OWN POLICY> A COMPLETE SHAME!!!!!! ..View less

Here is how the Allied Home Warranty scam works. They have a "The One-page contract." Three lawyers I showed it to laughed. They said it is one page because it is so vague that it doesn't require Allied to do anything. When you have a problem you will call Allied How Warranty because you think you have a warranty with them and will get some sort of benefit over calling someone else. Wrong. Allied will send our their own contractor. The name on the truck isn't Allied, but they are owned by the same person, Andrew White. The contractor will come out for a $60 fee. You would pay about that if you picked someone at random. You aren't getting a special price. For that $60 Allied's contractor won't actually do any work, but they will over-quote the cost of repairs by as much as three times the actual cost. Then they will tell you that you get a small token credit toward the repair, but only if you use their contractor to do the work. So, if your water heater breaks they may tell you it will be $1,500 to replace it, but they will give you a $300 credit because of your warranty. You could have hired your own repairman to do the whole job for $600, but Allied will not allow this of you want the $300 credit. So, $1,200 for Allied to do the work or $600 to just have it done yourself. The BBB wouldn't even accept my complaint against Allied. The BBB gives them an A+ rating in part because of the low number of complaints they get. The BBB doesn't like to rate its members low because it hurts their business model. Search for "BBB pay for ratings." ABCNews and CNN have both done stories on the BBB scam. Andrew White established and/or bought Sweat Equity Partners, Allied Warranty, Lone Star Repair, Geovox Security, HomeTool.com, Sweat Energy Services and NRG Energy. They are all the same. ..View less
