The plans from America's Preferred Home Warranty don’t work quite the same way as other companies’. They offer a basic plan called Standard Coverage that extends over the vital systems and appliances in the house such as HVAC system, electrical and plumbing system, refrigerators, garage door opener, built-in oven, and dishwasher, etc. One can even get roof leaks repairs covered. View the full list below.
Customers who would like more items covered can then opt for the Preferred Upgrade Plan additionally. This would then include items like refrigerator, garage door opener, etc.
America’s Preferred also allows add-on coverage over this Preferred Upgrade plan. It includes water softener, pool, spa, etc. The service is provided in association with Consumer Direct.
There is a good deal of flexibility in your pricing options if you choose APHW as your home warranty provider. America's Preferred Home Warranty plans all have a standard Base Coverage.
The monthly premium will be $45.75 for a deductible of $50; $41.58 for a deductible of $100 and $38.75 for a deductible of $125. However, choosing add-ons would increase the premium prices to over $100 depending on the specific choices. The deductibles are certainly on the lower range in the market scale compared to other companies.
The claim filing process of America’s Preferred Home Warranty is very simple. As you can pick your own contractor it would help for them to talk with APHW as well. The procedure is as follows:
America’s Preferred Home Warranty has a more flexible claims filing process as they accept invoicing for repairs from contractors they couldn’t despatch. Customers have reviewed them favorably for the speed of service and reimbursement. A careful reading and understanding of the service contracts reduces chances of claim denials, as the reviews indicate.
America’s Preferred Home Warranty will not pay any additional costs towards completing repairs, nor will they upgrade equipment on grounds of lack of capacity, incorrect installation, inadequate repair of or design of appliances, systems or components. They will also not cover problems arising from modifications to appliances, systems or components.
Though they cover some code violations these don’t include building or zoning code violations, or regulations or upgrades required by law of city, state, county, federal government, or any utility.
The company accepts liability for the failure of systems due to regular wear and tear but if they have reached the end of their life cycle then the company reserves the discretion to decide whether or not to pay. If any item breaks down during the 30 day waiting period, America’s Preferred Home Warranty may not cover it thereafter.
Only items located within single-family residences and/or condominiums will be covered. Common areas or facilities of mobile home parks and the said condominiums are not covered.
