Sears Home Warranty Costs
The Appliance Plan costs $49.99 per month, whereas the Systems Plan costs around $59.99 per month. The Whole Home Plan is a comprehensive plan with a monthly cost of $69.99.
The service fee ranges between $75-$100, depending on the plan you have selected. The plan premium increases if you purchase any additional items.
The average range of coverage offered by these plans stands at $1000-$1500. However, you might get higher coverage of $10,000 for your appliances and systems, subject to dollar payout limitations for each home system or appliance. Therefore, you can enjoy higher coverage limits than the industry standards with a Sears plan.
Sears provides exclusive benefits and discounts during the 30-day waiting period, from the date of purchase. You can take advantage of discounts on appliance repairs if you have purchased the Systems Plan. Those who have purchased the Appliance Plan get discounts on HVAC and water heater repairs.

Sears Home Warranty Claims and Customer Service
Cinch Home Service is responsible for handling the customer portal and service requests for Sears. To file your claim on the date of malfunction, follow these steps:
- Log in to your account on the website or call the phone number (1-855-256-2467) to place your request. Sears Home Warranty customer service is available 24/7.
- The company processes service requests within two hours.
- The company will schedule an appointment with a third-party service technician to diagnose the problem.
- When the service technician visits your home, you must pay the deductible, as per your contract. The technician then diagnoses and repairs the broken item.
Sears provides emergency services where they prioritize and expedite services. However, the request is prioritized at the discretion of the company.

Sears Home Warranty Exclusions
Sears Home Warranty contracts have a term of 1 year, during which time all the clauses would apply to the buyer and company. The contracts are auto-renewed before the term expires. You can also upgrade your existing plan to a higher coverage plan by paying additional charges.
Any appliances or home systems that are not mentioned in the contract are not eligible for coverage. The plans cover the repair costs of system and appliance breakdowns resulting from normal wear and tear. Any pre-existing conditions should be verified before signing the contract, as known conditions won’t be covered.
In case of damage, you have to file a claim on the day of the malfunction. If the failure recurs within 180 days after the repairs, the service technician will visit again at no extra cost. The reimbursements for repair and replacements are subject to limitations, as per the contract.
The plan is effective after 30 days, from the date of purchase, for one year. However, the company provides a refund, in full, if you cancel the contract within 30 days of signing. After 30 days, a cancellation fee of $25 is charged. If you sell your home, you can transfer the contract to a new homeowner by paying $25.
Sears Home Warranty: Worth It?
Sears Home Warranty plans offer unique benefits to customers. Sears offers special discounts on auto repair services to their home warranty customers. They have a vast network of pre-screened technicians who work actively to resolve the claims filed. The company has over two decades of experience, during which they have built a solid reputation in the market.
On the downside, their premium and service charges are slightly above the industry average. In addition, a few customers have faced issues, such as unexpected costs, repair delays, and communication issues.

Now I have been dealing with trying to get a refund and have continued to get multiple excuses and promises that it's "in process." I have contacted my credit card company to report this fraud and they are working on disputing the charge. Stay away from this company. ..View less

This is the worst experience anyone can have - my replacement ovens have been in my garage for 2 months - they will not schedule anyone to install - wants me to take $100 / never heard of anything so evil and ridiculous. All customer service techs will not help you. Do not get a Sears home warranty - not reputable at all. They score a zero in everything; they are excellent at lying. Beware!!!!

Absolutely the worst experience with Sears Warranty and Cinch Service. Even after the technician received authorization for a microwave in March. Two months later still not able to get a response.

Micro wave went OUT, scheduled service, FIRST Tech arrives I tell him it's the main board, after a hour he says have to reschedule because oven has to be removed. 1 week later 2 techs arrive to remove oven to trouble shoot I tell them it's the main board. 2 hours later with the oven re-assembled they say the MAIN BOARD is at fault and has to be sent for repair because they don't make that board anymore "A CHECK OF THE INTERNET SHOWS I CAN PURCHASE ALL THE BOARDS I WANT FROM SEVERAL DEALERS". Now I wait another several weeks for the repaired board to be sent to me then I call Sears to schedule a Tech to install it. This is the second time in about 3 years that this board failed and was supposedly not available and had to be repaired. Now again I don't have a Microwave OR Oven for about 3-4 weeks to cook with. NOTE: The main board is located behind the face panel and THE OVEN DOESN'T HAVE TO BE REMOVED. NOTE: Sears contract says "Service Promise We’ll fix it on our first service visit" To bad posts can't be made with minus stars. ..View less

I can't be reimbursed any of the fees because the service man already came to my house. I've spent over 4 hours the past two days trying to cancel. Spoke to multiple people, was told a different cancellation amount each time, including paying the full amount because I used the 50% parts discount for the first service call THAT WAS INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE. The calls keep disconnecting. The email they have on file for me has never received a single email for them. They are emailing my old email from years ago when I first had the warranty and no matter what this can't seem to be fixed. And never have I been able to register my account online with either email. NEVER, EVER will I do business with them again. ..View less

Horrible service! Was on hold for 45 minutes just to schedule. Told that there are no service people in our area. Then called back to get more information. Still waited ON HOLD for over 30 minutes. Finally hung up and, hopefully, cancelled my warranty. Was given false information about my plan from onset. Paid 3 months ($150) for NOTHING!!! rate:0. not even 1.

Never buy the Warranty, because if you want to cancel it, it is impossible. You call customer service to cancel and they always mysteriously disconnect the line on you when they realize they can't keep you from cancelling the warranty. They are criminals.

If I could rate this company -50 I would. Customer service is terrible. I paid $600 for the year and multiple $75 service fees and none of my appliances were ever replaced. Save your money.

Dont do it. Dont sign up for a Sears Home Warranty. The AC went out on our home. Tech came out but did not fix it. Have spent the last six months trying to get them to meet the terms of the contract. No Luck. Avoid them at all costs!

So so bad!!! They say one thing then technician says another. Recommended to go to someone else for service/repair. Parts and service are 5 times higher than the regular. Bad experience just once is all it takes. Would give 0 stars if I could.

They often don't fix the problem the first visit and re-direct you to talk to Sears Warranty to schedule a new appointment. It's a nightmare to call them to resolve anything. We had our A/C quit on a triple digit day and they made us pay $100 just to make an appointment. After a while, we called the contracted company and they had never been called by Sears and had no plans to come out and couldn't anyways. With our grandpa having serious medical issues, we had to call out an emergency repair company and were charged $1300! Sear's has never refunded us. ..View less

I have been waiting since 5-13-21 for my microwave repair. The magnetron needs to be replaced. Sears says they are waiting for the part. It is now 10-3-21. So far, no offer to replace it with a cash buyout or replacement. I have talked to at least 20-30 "sympathetic" representatives with promises to call me back/send an email explaining what they will do. So far, nothing.
