The Home Service Club CLAIMS

The Home Service Club has a dedicated customer care team to serve you. The company also has a vast contractor network extending 15,000+ technicians to fix the malfunctioning devices in your home. Here’s what you need to do to file your claim smoothly.

  • You can file your claim by logging into the Home Service Club website or call up customer care

What Important Aspects Are Mentioned In HSC Contracts?

All customers buying an HSC home warranty plan must read the contract thoroughly before signing up. Important aspects such as the beginning period of your coverage and ending date of your contract are mentioned. Other pertinent details such as the plan you have opted for, and add on coverage options are also stated in your contract.

Once customers file a claim, HSC will send a technician within 12 business hours. On national holidays or weekends, it takes 48 hours working hours for the company to send a professional for an inspection. Customers are required to pay a trade service call fee or deductible each time a technician repairs or replace any of your devices.

HSC has the right to select the technician who comes over to repair or replace your devices. The service contractor may be affiliated with the company.

Customers can renew their services without facing any lapse in coverage offered by the company. If customers renew their contract after the previous contract has expired, coverage will begin 30 after the date of payment. The company may inspect your systems and appliances in the 30 waiting period.

Had a contract with them for two years and will be switching when this year ends. They are slow to respond to claims and quick to give excuses about why they don't cover basic issues. The final straw for me is the issue I am currently dealing with- an appliance broke and it is clear that the broken part is covered (the motor), however they are claiming that it is probably the dial that is broken, which of course, they do not cover. They won't send a technician/repair person out to look at it, and I even agreed to pay for the repair in full if it is determined that the issue is not covered (which is something the contract states that they are supposed to do). They have been giving me the run around for weeks. I'm switching back to American Home Shield. I never had any issues with them, they just cost a little bit more. ..View less

We've had problems with our pool heater and going through Home Service Club has been a nightmare. The issue is still not resolved after three months. Home Service Club had a hard time finding local pool technicians who were willing to work with them. It has taken so long to resolve the issue that my fiance ended up calling local pool people to find someone willing to work with Home Service Club. One local technician said he won't work with Home Service Club as he had had problems getting paid by them before. When Home Service Club finally found a technician willing to work on our pool the technician was unhelpful, telling us that the pool heater worked and that we just had to "play with" the various levers (it's an old pool) to get the heat to the hot tub. So we paid someone $75 to tell us the pool wasn't broken. Then we spent time playing with the pool to see if we could get it to work. We couldn't and called another local pool person, independent of the home warranty company, who said that the pool heater was not working and that we needed to replace the pool levers. We paid this pool technician out of pocket and now we're back to square one trying to find someone to fix the problem that will work with Home Service Club. Home Service Club's customer service is a joke. The service you receive really depends on if you are lucky enough to speak with a representative who is knowledgeable. My fiance called numerous times and was at the mercy of whoever answered the phone. It's also difficult to reach a representative. I've called and left voicemail messages because I was unable to reach anyone. We will not use this company next year. They are horrible. Do not use them! ..View less

PLEASE READ!!!!!!! fucking joke. i put a claim in for my tub the faucet wouldnt stop dripping and the drain didnt work took them a month and a half to finally get my claim taken care of just for them to deny the claim because of rust and corrosion. if a faucets cracked and is leaking its going to cause rust. then i put a claim in for my furnace and they booked a company that is booked out for 3-4weeks. a ..Read Full Review

I filed a claim for our exhausts. I was received well by the agent. The repair guy followed and arrived at my house promptly. I was disappointed though that the repair guy had to go out and get missing equipment. After that, he was able to repair the exhaust.

Customer support is great if there is a repairman issue and so on, but they become quite unsatisfactory when it comes to an immediate deadline. I asked them to repair my dryer last month and it took them more than 2 weeks to find me a repairman. I didn't know any good repairmen so I patiently waited for them to set us up with one! Repair went swimmingly though.

This is an absolutely horrible company. Customer service is rude, unresponsive, and unprofessional. They don't return phone calls or emails. You have to keep following up to see if anything has been done on the claim. They have no sense of customer service or communication. They are shady and lie to you with different reps telling you different things. It takes forever to get a vendor out and then forever to get an item fixed or replaced when needed. They find any way to get out of replacing anything and when they do have to replace it they devalue the item. For example, a microwave was authorized to be replaced a year ago Oct 2019 but has yet to be replaced. Emails and phone calls are ignored. And they only offered to cover $100 on the replacement stating that was the depreciated value. It's an expensive GE Profile but they can't even honor the replacement. Have had multiple AC issues on different properties with them where it took over a month to get resolved. A month without a working AC! Currently a vendor was sent out for a refrigerator defrost issue but the part is no longer available so the refrigerator needs to be replaced. The vendor stated it was normal wear and tear but they are refusing to cover it as the defrost coil burned out and they are considering it physical damage even though the vendor made it clear it was normal wear and tear like a lightbulb burning out. Not physical damage! But they said they don't have to listen to the technician and can decide what they will cover or not cover. I have credit with them from an AC screwup on another property but they wouldn't let me use the credit on this property to replace the refrigerator even after a supervisor who is no longer with them told me I can use it on any of my accounts! Very unethical and shady business practices. They will do anything to get out of honoring their warranty. I have asked to talk to supervisors and to dispute the claim but they won't provide the information. Stay away from them. They all need customer service and ethics training. I don't know if the President/CEO of this company is aware at how their front facing customer service is abhorrent and lacking. Ignoring a customer, shouting at them, and telling them pound sand is not a company I want to be doing business with. ..View less

I manage a few rentals close to the shoreline. An excellent partner for me is the Home Service Club. All my maintenance and fixes are managed by them. I had them check out the fixtures and the piping whenever I had leaks or inconsistent electricity. Good services for me!

After a few weeks, I tried using my food processor and it wouldn't turn on. Reached out to send someone over and discovered it could not be repaired. So, it was replaced instead. Saved me a couple of bucks!

There was a lot of noise coming from the basement and I thought it was the pipes.The plumber from HSC found that it was much more than that.The grinder pump system needed to be repaired. Took a while but definitely do not envy the guy who has to fix it. I wouldn't have it any other way!

Outstanding customer service! Every call I make, the service rep knows exactly what he's talking about and most of the time they just help me go through my appliances over the phone! I hate that my garage door opener broke down on the very first monday of the month. I felt like I was cursed. But HSC turned that situation around for me.

The clothes come out of the unit soaking wet, even after the full cycle. Called up HSC and a representative arranged for a repairman. It turns out that something within the mechanisms are loose. So thankful it was immediately fixed!
