I will not renew my service contract with Cross Country when it comes due in November! Called on May 12 to report AC was blowing hot air! May 15 serviceman came out and said thermostat wasn't "seating" correctly on the mount. I redid the mount and everything was OK until June 3, a different contractor was assigned to me and came out on June 5 and verified my inside coil was leaking and showed me. Then another contractor was sent out on June 12 to verify what the first contractor had already told them. July 19 I received a list of "upgrades and permits" that needed to be done. I signed it to the tune of $2630.00. and sent it back to the contractor. Parts were ordered by Cross Country and were wrong on two susequent occasions! Meanwhile AC was blowing hot air on multiple 100 degree days while waiting for the correct parts to be delivered to the contractor. July 17 contacted Ms. Rita McNealy, my inhouse contact at Cross Country! She sent me an authorization to purchase an in room air conditioner while we awaited the correct parts to be delivered to the contractor. Today, 7/26/2019 this repair from Hell finally was over. I still am awaiting the refund for the air conditioner I was authorized to buy!!! Tom Bolton ..View less

This company has bought out Total Protection and Total Protection is taking advantage of my elderly parents. Their air condition has been broken now almost a week. Total sent a guy out to service my parents AC and technician told my elderly parents that the compressor had gone out. Well in the meantime my parents have no air. They have tried calling the contractor that was sent out but yet they get no answer. D & K electric and AC did not leave any paperwork showing exactly what has to be repaired. Total Protection is going along with D & K electric & AC that the entire outside unit has to be replaced. How do you go from compressor to entire outside unit has to be changed out. I am perturbed about these folks trying to take advantage of my elderly parents..from this point I will reach out to the news station to see if we can get some results. If another company is dispatched out they want my parents to pay another deductible of $125 again. Can you say highway robbery? ..View less

WARNING DO NOT BUY A WARRANTY FROM THIS COMPANY! THEY DESERVE A FLAT "0".. Would never recommend this company to anyone. It was sold to us by Sears Home Warranty. After, Sears sold this portion OR was purchased by Cross Country Home Services. I called for a leak in my ceiling. I had to do all the work calling the contractors they provided. After 4 contractor contacts, each one claiming they are not available until a later date, or the appt was made, I took off time from work, and come to find out at 10:15 the guy quit the night before and cancelled at 10:15 the day of the appt. then I call for another contractor, the Warranty CSR assures me they can be at my home on Friday, and then I call and they call back and cannot assist or cannot work on this kind of pipe (plex repair) Desperation set in and I call the Warranty company and told them they no one wants to help and that I will have to find someone since they have no one to help me. I guess I am at there liberty to end up with a ceiling falling through and mold. They put me in a position after waiting a week for a Thursday appt and then they cancelled. I contacted the warranty people and told them I was going to find someone else and they said it would not be covered. Unbelievable the service, yet I have tried to dispute this with a request for some kind of compensation and I come to find out today, after speak with Robin that had I requested to go outside they would have covered it, or the contractor could have called them. In the initial call to the CSR she should have been trained to escalate my case to get me assistance or authorization to get outside help. They never mentioned this until TODAY after I spoke with Robin. They never followed through, they just take my money every month, automatically comes out of my account and of course you are obligated for one year. This company is a farce and no one seems to want to work for them, as it was shown when I made multiple calls to each company provided. I am paying for a service and I am doing the work to get repairs in my home. This is a real problem with this company and they make sure they find every loop hole to not reimburse you or after the fact tell you things that you were not aware of. Also, may I mention, it is very difficult get anyone to help you, each time you have to respond to multiple questions, you are never given a persons extension or phone number to reach out to someone. It feels like it is all about the money and not following through with the contract. I did everything I could to get resolution and I could not afford to have my ceiling bust open. I was promised and assured that this company would guarantee when I signed this contract that this contract would cover me with needed repairs. The CSRs should be trained to know that when a customer calls in and 4 companies have NOT worked out, that there should be brought to someones attention that the customer needs help. Also, if your supervisors are trained, like Robin, to handle customers like my situation, there should be some accountability from there end to hear or put themselves in my position. Robin only read a loophole and mentioned to me today that if I had ASKED THEY WOULD HAVE APPROVED. I did ask and was told that it would not be covered if I went out of contract. PLEASE NOTE; DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR TIME AND MONEY. THEY SUCK YOU IN, YOU PAY A MONTHLY FEE AND require a deductible WHEN THE SERVICE COMPANY COMES TO YOUR HOME. Had I made 4 appts at 4 hour increments that would be a loss of time for me from my work. I AM AN HONEST PERSON, AND WOULD NEVER RUN A SHADY COMPANY LIKE THIS. I WAS HONEST, FORTHCOMING AND DID ALL THE WORK TO GET MY CEILING REPAIRED.. THEY HAVE DENIED ME ANY COMPENSATION AND WILL NOT PROVIDE ME WITH ANYONES NAME IN CORPORATE, JUST A PO BOX. When I call in, it takes me at least 10 to 15 minutes to get help. PLEASE READ MY FEEDBACK. IT WILL SAVE YOU A LOT OF HEARTACHE AND TIME LOSS. This could have turned out to be really bad for me. I could not afford to have this leak in my ceiling go on any longer for risk of MOLD and extensive damage. ..View less

I would not recommend them for anyone to use . It is out rages to be a week and a half without your refrigerator. It’s also even more ridiculous to be a month without your air conditioning when you leave live in the south. My wife and I purchased the Sears Home Warranty. This fiasco started in early November 2018. The dispenser on our washer wasn't working properly, specifically the fabric softener. We called the Sears Home Warranty. A Sears technician came out the first time, troubleshoot and said the dispenser pull out drawer needed to be replaced. He ordered the part. The part was supposed to be replaced 1 week later. We discovered that washer machine after his visit would not work at all. We called to inform Sears Home Warranty about this. A week later, I took the morning off of work so that I could meet the technician to let him in to replace the part. At around 11:00 AM my wife called Sears Home Warranty wanting to know what happened to the technician. We were informed that he didn't come because he was sick. We asked why didn't we get a phone call to tell us. If we hadn't called, I would have waited well past the deadline when he was supposed to show up. We rescheduled but I was reluctant to take more of my personal time off of work so we requested they come out after we got home from work or on the weekend. After some debate and discussion, a contractor on behalf of Sears Home Warranty was assigned to come out. He came out on a Saturday. He said the part that the Sears tech ordered would not have fixed the problem and he diagnosed that a water valve was needed. He said he would order the part and come out the next Saturday. Good thing I didn't take off of work this time because he didn't show up or cared to call to say he wasn't coming. We called Cross Country Home Services. This is the insurance company that pays for the home warranty. We complained that 2 techs had come out on 2 separate occasions but no part had been replaced. On 2 occasions when the tech was to replace the part neither showed up or cared to call to say they weren't coming. We spent the next month calling and talking to several case managers, complaining about what had happened. Another contractor worker was assigned from another contract company. He came out and diagnosed that a board needed to be ordered. He said the procedure was he had to call the warranty company to get approval for the part to be ordered. The warranty company said it would have to be reviewed. After a week went by we called to find out the status. We were informed that the part was ordered and shipped and the contractor should have received the part on December 27. We called the contractor on December 27. He said he was out on the road and he would check to see if the part came in after he got home. He never called back. Once again we called the home warranty people on December 31 to see what the status was as to when we could expect to get our washer machine repaired. They said the part was shipped to the contractor and he would contact us to schedule to come out and put he part in. I told the case manager that we had called the contractor and he didn't call us back. They said they would call the contractor. The contractor called around 3:00 PM on December 31 and said that he would come out on January 2 between 4:00 and 8:00 PM. He never showed up or called. Today is January 4, 2019. We have had it with this total failure to get our washer machine repaired after 2 months and a week now. We want to get the word out. DO NOT purchase the Sears Home Warranty plan! Please Do Not purchase any home warranty from Cross Country! Please don't learn the hard way that Cross Country does not and will not stand behind their warranty service. It is not worth the paper it is written on. We have played by all their rules and it has lead to total frustration. We have decided to cancel our home warranty with Cross Country and try to sue them or take them to small claims court because in order to get our washer machine fixed, we will have to get someone not connected to this company to fix it. We have also began collecting contact info of the investigative reporting of one or more of the local TV stations in the Dallas Fort Worth area to see if they can help us investigate Cross Country and expose them so that others will not get treated the way we have been. ..View less

Yolanda, I appreciate your feedback and am sorry to hear that your claim experience was not what you expected. As with all warranties, coverage is detailed in the Agreement and there are items and conditions which may not be addressed. Our records indicate that our team has recently spoken with you regarding your concerns. – Christine

Horrible inaccurate excuses not to cover me! Paid on time for 15 years. Refused to repair my dishwasher claiming bogusly without documentation that they offered me a new machine and sent me a $150 installation check. Never happened . Instead they repaired an old machine three years ago which broke down again last month. I will take them to small claims ! Will have to buy a dishwasher now!

We were without heat for a month, with all the back and forth. We had to replace the unit; some parts were no longer available on the old unit. We submitted the details as instructed and they totally denied the claim, via email one day before Christmas. ..View less

NEGATIVE STARS FROM ME! Absolute worst company I have ever dealt with. In it for themselves. Customer service people are trained to agree with whatever you say, apologize and be of zero help. Don't bother leaving messages for a call back from any type of management, you will not get one. There is never a manager with any authority that you can speak with. Everybody has a boss, but this boss does not have a name. There are no direct dial numbers and if you do get a different number to call it reroutes back to the customer service center which is useless. Shame on this company and its employees. Thank you Mr. Steve Upshaw for taking my money and not helping. ..View less
