Worst experience I’ve ever had with a company. This company is Horrible. This companies rating is less than zero. Technician submitted request to replace our water heater three months ago and we still don’t know when it will happen. They continue drafting our premiums and we’re getting zero service. We’re waiting to join a class action against this company.

One star is too much for this company. One representative even told me to call a plumber on my own because he cannot help me. I've had a small leak in my home since the May 2, 2020 and they still have not helped me. We are done. If you are considering this company, please don't. STAY AWAY!

Our tankless water heater went out, so the service provider and the warranty company dragged their feet for a month before finally installing it. The plumber didn't show up on time, didn't install it correctly, and then wouldn't return my phone calls to get someone out to fix it. I called Residential MD and they wouldn't help. Said it was now a manufacturer's warranty issue. I have been without a water heater for two days -- no showers, no clean dishes or clothes. The warranty company didn't care, neither did the plumber. I hired someone on my own to come fix it. It will be at least one more day (possibly more) before I have a working water heater. Avoid Residential MD like the plague. I'm canceling my membership. ..View less

When 1st bought this insurance it was great. Now can’t fix simple water leaks or find competent plumber. Very incompetent and terrible customer service. Should get a zero. Simple open complaint since February that should have been resolved ASAP. Cross Country bought or is handling.

This is the worst company ever. They use companies that either state that they called you and they have not (Kintex plumbing). When you call to put in a claim you get automation which you have to hope that you choose the right thing. When you do get someone on the line they hang up on you.

My old dryer quit early December - took 3 weeks for parts to arrive - today the technician found out that the main power source - A socket - was also bad and that part is not available any more. Guess what - they don’t cover sockets even if it the MAIN POWER SOURCE TO THE UNIT so after a month I’m out the deductible and have to buy a new dryer - the tech tried to explain it to them as well as myself - nope they WILL NOT DO THE RIGHT THING TO THEIR CUSTOMERS! Avoid this company at all costs they are not worth the hassle. I will be cancelling my account as soon as I can - they take your money but are very stingy helping customers. Also I often am told to find my own repair person because they don’t have anybody in the area to work on my appliances. That is what I pay them for! Because they are a horrible company . In addition they outsource their phone customer service to India and it is very hard to understand what they are saying - I am beyond frustrated and angry !!!!!!!! Piss poor company and service ! ..View less

This warranty company is totally unprofessional and a disgrace. My 79 year old mother has not had a refrigerator since 9/17/18. She has been living out of a cooler, has lost so much food, & can't even get a cold drink because she has no ice!! After work every day I go & get her food to eat because nothing holds long in the cooler. Good thing she has family nearby!! She is partially disabled with heart issues & this stress is not helping. They have sent repair people out 7 times with 5 different parts & cannot fix it. She was told on 10/28/18 (FINALLY!!!!) that it was not fixable & the repair company would authorize the replacement. Well guess what? NOTHING YET!!! As of today, 11/5/18, they told her they were sending yet another repair person to "definitely" deem it not fixable!! The repair company they used is not that great either but that's for another day. This is absolutely ridiculous & if she does not have a new refrigerator in a week I am reporting you to the Attorney General of the State of PA, the Better Business Bureau, calling all of our local news stations & possibly hiring an attorney. This is bordering on elder abuse & I would not treat an animal as bad as you have treated my mother. You are quick to take the money out of her account each month but when it's time to honor your obligation you are nowhere to be found. Own up & take the responsibility you are supposed to & replace my mother's refrigerator!!!! Enough is enough of these games. ..View less

Res MD still has not authorized us to get a new furnace, despite it being 26 years old and confirmed from the heating company that it is not working! My husband spent 30 minutes on the phone talking to them. Now we have to pay because it will be another two weeks before they will give authorization. What the hell! therefore we have to wait to get them to pay us. This is a crazy run company. Their phone customer service is horrible. Very difficult to understand their help. We had to, for the 4th time, seek out our own people to come to the house to check out the issues as they can't find service providers to partner or take their calls. Talked to the heating/repairman and it is because they don't pay claims quickly. Can i charge interest for the time they do not pay me back. ..View less

My water heater start leaking. I called Residential Home Warranty, with whom I have contract. They told me, since my water heater is more than 10 years old, I get only $300.00. It cost me over $1,600. They said it is in your contract. If you are like me and do not read all the prints, do not buy it I like to know, how often a water heater less than 10 year old goes out.

I am sharing my story because I'm sure there are many other families paying for this useless service. I have been paying Residential MD for TEN YEARS and I've only used the service three times out of the ten years. Sadly, after each time I use them my deductible goes up but the service stays the same. On 8/26/2018 I placed a service call to Residential MD b/c my a/c was blowing warm air and draining water all over the basement floor onto my carpet in the common area of the basement. Since this wasn't the first time I had this problem this year I asked the operator taking my information to send the same contractor they had sent back on 5/22/2018 for what I thought was the same problem (No A/C). I was told I would not have to pay my deductible when the technician came out. I got a speedy appointment (next day) but was very dissatisfied with the technician that came out to look at the unit. When the technician looked at my a/c out he said he was checking to see if it was low on Freon. Then he came inside stated everything outside looks fine then told me I had a clogged drain by the unit inside. He then blew on a white tube that drains into my sump pump and said all is good. He wrote up his claim ticket asked me for my $100 deductible. I said young man wait a minute, its still draining onto the floor. He said there wasn't anything else he could do because he couldn't find a problem with it and it would stop draining shortly. I called Residential MD back to inform them of the problem and they instructed me to call the service company back. I called the service company and even sent them pictures of the water still draining onto the floor and carpet in my basement. Unfortunately, the company could not come back out until the end of the week. I turning the a/c off because of the water damage to the carpet and ended up staying at a family members house because of the heat index was reaching 103 degrees outside. On Friday, 8/24/2018 a new technician arrived, he discovers there is two leaks in the coils and/or drip pan that needs to be replaced. He did a temporary fix and said the parts would be ordered. The temporary fix was just that...TEMPORARY! The water started draining again all over the basement floor on 9/3/2018. I hadn't heard back from the contracted company or Residential MD., and I had water on the floor and common areas of the basement. I already knew neither company was going to take care of any water damages so I desperately took matters into my own hands and had the a/c replaced on 9/8/2018. As of 9/24/2018, I still haven't heard from Residential MD., or the contracted company on where the parts are. I will be writing to there customer service department hoping to solve some resolution before I cancel this service. If you are paying for this service please, please read your contract carefully. Sometimes the service isn't worth it. I could have brought my A/C two times paying the premiums alone for ten years. ..View less

Their service network of providers is small and not great at all. Every repair with them require a minimum of 6 calls to actually get anything done. When you ask to speak with a supervisor or a manager they lie and say they are not available . If you do get a supervisor or manager on the phone they are not helpful. After multiple horrible experience, I can say the "protection" the provide is not worth it. They have a supervisor named Brianna. She claims she has no manager and she doesn't report to anyone when you ask for a manager. She was rude and unhelpful. ..View less
