2-10 Home Warranty Plans & Coverage

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty has multiple offerings for different customer categories. There are three home warranty plans for homeowners. They offer buyer and seller coverage for parties involved in real estate transactions, and structural warranties for builders. This warranty provider also gives the option to personalize plan coverage.

1. Homeowner Plans

  • Simply Kitchen- The Simply Kitchen Plan, as the name suggests, only protects your kitchen’s appliances.
  • Complete Home- The Complete Home Plan offers coverage for the major appliances and systems in your home.
  • Pinnacle Home- The Pinnacle Home Plan covers major appliances and systems, and also includes the Supreme coverage option with its standard coverage.
  • Optional Coverage- 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty provides coverage for extra items that are otherwise not a part of any plan. These additional options include enhanced coverage and other items.

2. Real Estate Plans

  • Seller Coverage- 2-10 HBW Seller coverage is provided free of charge for situations and places, applicable by law. Major home systems and appliances are covered in this plan. However, coverage for A/C and heat pump costs money. The coverage starts immediately and lasts for 180 days, or until the close of the sale, or if the listing is canceled.
  • Buyer Coverage- Buyer coverage includes home appliances and systems. This plan's coverage lasts for one year and can be renewed by the homeowner at the end of the coverage term.

3. Structural Warranty

Structural warranties are agreements between builders and homeowners. A structural warranty details coverage for distribution systems, workmanship, and any structural elements of home construction. It also outlines performance guidelines. 2-10 HBW provides a full suite of warranties to cover any structural defects.

2-10 Home Buyer’s Warranty coverage is shown as follows:

Service Fees

The 2-10 HBW service fee is priced at $85 per visit. There are two other deductible options available - the Service Buy Down Fee is $65 and the Service Fee Save Up is $100. If you choose the Service Buy Down Fee, you will have to pay an extra $6 for a monthly plan and $72 for a yearly plan during checkout. Choosing the Save Up option saves you $3 on the monthly plan and $36 dollars on the yearly plan.

“Even If” Service Fee Guarantee

This service guarantee is designed to offer more protection to 2-10 HBW customers. If 2-10 HBW finds that the requested item is not eligible for coverage, they’ll refund the service fee at your request. Also, in the event that a serviced item breaks down again within the coverage period, you will not be charged a service fee for the same item.

2-10 HBW Exclusive Appliance Benefits

2-10 HBW offers its customers the following exclusive benefits -

Appliance Discount Program- 2-10 HBW customers can get exclusive discounts of up to 65% off GE and Whirlpool appliances.

Appliance Color Match- If or when a covered item is not deemed repairable, 2-10 home buyers warranty will replace the item. The Appliance Color Match program will ensure, where possible, that the eligible replacement is the same as the existing appliance's color. The first preference is issued to functionality and then color.

Appliance Replacement Offer- When you file a claim for a service request, you have the option to select a service request or choose the Appliance Replacement Offer. If you choose the replacement option, a service contractor will not be sent to your home, and you can avoid paying the trade call fee.

You can replace the broken appliance with a new one, and submit your receipt to the 2-10 company for a $100 reimbursement.

The company also hands out a $50 gift card when people referred by you purchase a 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. However, these benefits may vary by package and are subject to terms and conditions.

2-10 Home Warranty Claims & Customer Service

The claims process for 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty is quite simple, and you can easily apply for a service request any time you need a repair. As service is available 24/7, you can place a service request at any time to schedule a visit from the service contractor to diagnose the problem. You can file your claim online by logging in to your 2-10 HBW account or by calling customer service.

  • You can log in to the Homeowner Portal and select the eligible repair for an appliance or system
  • Enter information about the brand and model, and answer a series of questions
  • The closest authorized service contractor will be selected to service your claim
  • After placing your service request, you can log in anytime to check the status of the claim
  • The contractor will diagnose the problem and report it to the company
  • 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty company will then check the item is covered, assess the problem, and determine the most plausible course of action - repair, replacement, or reimbursement

Tip: Getting a home inspection done will increase your chances of having your claim approved.

2-10 HBW hires independent service contractors for diagnosis and repair work. Their response time is 48 hours, typically during working hours, of Monday to Friday.  In case of an emergency, the company will try to arrange the contractor's visit within 24 hours. You'll end up having to pay any overtime or additional fees, if you ask a contractor to work outside of regular business hours, in a non-emergency situation.

You can also use the homeowner's portal to look for other available features. You can find your property information, coverage details, and the eligibility to add extra coverage to your warranty plan for up to 30 days after enrollment with your online account.

You can speak to 2-10 HBW customer service by calling their phone number - 800.775.4736. The customer service representatives will address your concerns about a service request or its status. 2-10 HBW has different contact numbers for plan purchase, renewal, real estate plans, and builder plans.

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty Plan Exceptions

All home warranty companies have specific coverage limits and exclusions as a part of their contract. Similarly, 2-10 HBW does not extend coverage to all parts of a covered item. For example, energy management systems, glycol systems, oil systems, and more are not covered under heating systems. The company states that all covered items must be in good working order as of the effective date of coverage. However, any unknown pre-existing conditions that were not identified by a simple mechanical test or visual inspection are covered.

The company provides repair and replacement services to covered items that break down due to normal wear and tear. They do not cover items that fail due to wilful or involuntary abuse, misuse, neglect, home movement, electrical surges, fire, etc. Coverage is also not offered to devices that malfunction due to improper design, improper installation, manufacturer's defects, or any problems arising out of modifications or alterations.

The 2-10 HBW contracts have a Force Majeure clause. This means that any delay in service or failure to perform service, due to situations outside of their control, is outside the scope of their liability. For example, in situations where a delay in service, or where services cannot be performed because of shortage or delay in obtaining parts, transportation stoppages, extreme weather conditions, acts of God, epidemics, etc., the service provider is not to be held responsible.

2-10 HBW states that its coverage is secondary to any manufacturer's warranty or insurance policy. The presence of any such coverage may result in a delay as they wait for the primary policy to take effect.

They have a predetermined dollar limit, $25,000, set for all covered items. Any additional costs pertaining to an item's excluded components, or any amount exceeding the set dollar limit, and other charges are at your expense, unless otherwise stated in your agreement. Go through 2-10 HBW's sample contract to understand coverage exceptions.

Is 2-10 Home warranty any good?

2-10 HBW offers comprehensive and affordable coverage plans. They have a diverse selection of structural warranties, making them ideal for builders. They provide a lucrative offer to real estate agents in the form of complimentary Seller and comprehensive Buyer coverage. Homeowner plans, along with optional coverage, ensure complete protection of your home.

However, 2-10 HBW has received many customer complaints on BBB and other review sites, including our own, in recent years. Most of these customer reviews discuss claims processing issues, but 2-10 manages to address and resolve these complaints swiftly. If you are still unsure about the services of this company, take a look at our top 10 home warranty companies.

Absolutely terrible customer service, contractors, communications and follow through-not worth the stress and time; better off to hire, and pay, for the repairs out of pocket - regardless of prices.

After more than two waiting on a repair or replacement, for a non functioning oven, we're still at square one! One department leads to another department who tries to take the cheaper way out for an appliance that no longer has parts in existence. Per the recommendation from the service tech, replacement was the better option for what he referred to as a money pit appliance. Total duration of a call was 1hr 25mins, and time spent actually talking to a person was 10-15 minutes. This clearly shows just how much this company values their customers. We have been without an oven for over TWO MONTHS! We payed for the highest package they have and strongly regret it. Needless to say when this year is up 2-10 will not be getting another dime from us. Absolute garbage! Would NOT recommend. ..View less

If I could give 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty, their customer service and supervisors a negative 10, I would. I purchased the most expensive plan (Everything Together plan) for $550 per year. On Sept 1 my water heater started flooding my basement. On Sept 2nd, at the end of the day, I called to see if my service request had been dispatched. The gentleman told me that there wasn't ANY contractors within a 90 mile radius to service my water heater. He advised me to call my own contractor and contact them in the morning with a diagnosis. On Sept 3rd, my contractor spoke with this warranty company and explained my water heater was beyond repair. AFTER replacing the water heater, they told me they would not cover it because I had CHOSEN to get my own contractor. NOT TRUE AT ALL! They stated they would only cover $468 of the $1185 bill. Even more frustrating considering I pay more for the coverage than they're willing to reimburse. Later in the day on Sept 3rd, I had called again and informed "Tiffany" that I would like a copy of the Quality Assurance calls from 09/02 when the representative TOLD ME to get my own contractor. After being on hold for over 45 mins, she started that she had spoken with her floor supervisor and agreed that there WAS NOT someone in my area and that they would note my account to pay the entire bill. On Sept 13th, I received a check for $468. AGAIN, I call, being placed on hold for over an hour on every one of these calls... I explained to "Deon" that 2 separate individuals agreed that there was no one in my area and that I would be reimbursed. So now, I ask for both recorded phone calls so I can take this to court. After another hour, he came back and told me I would have to get legal counsel for the quality assurance phone calls. I fully intend on pursuing this for principal purposes! BE AWARE!! DO NOT PURCHASE THIS WARRANTY COVERAGE!! They are scam artists! ..View less

2-10 HBW is crap. So far, not worth the hassle. 8 weeks without a running refrigerator. Finally after I said "screw it" and purchased a new one, they offered me the cost of repair to the old one. I had to fight somemore with them to get disposal cost factored in. I am now getting random appliance repair people hitting me up.

Nobody seems to care. Paying out thousands less than all quotes for repairs isnt a warranty, youre paying for a coupon, and then they raise your rates more than double to recoup what they paid out. They're not in the business of taking care of their customers, they just want to collect your money and cut you off. Avoid 2-10 and don't even bother, save your money yourself and pay out of pocket, its less of a headache than trying to deal with these crooks. ..View less

Worst home warranty company I have ever dealt with. No Customer service, 30+ mins on the phone every time you have to call them. I have had an approved claim open for 8 months, yes 8 months, still waiting on approved reimbursement. Have called 8 times... Run away from them don't walk.

Two different claims; 2-10 sends contractors with low ratings, not certified. It seems like their contractor network are technicians that can't get jobs elsewhere; have no quality / training certifications. We had an HVAC claim last year in the summer and the contractor they assigned did not contact us within the required 48 hours. We researched this technician and he had very low ratings / reviews online. So we contacted 2-10 and they said we could pick our own company and they would repay us at standard rates. Our technician spent 9 hours working on our system - purging & replacing freon; re-soldering joints to prevent leaks and 2-10 refunded us only $170 of a $900 bill. For the second HVAC issue the contractor they sent had to take pictures and Google them to identify parts. After checking into this contractor he has no National training certification like NATE or ACCA certification. This contractor has not been in contact with us for over a week. We have spent hours on the phone trying to get an update and have used 2-10 website to request status updates and escalate this issue but we haven't heard back from anyone. Terrible company, hours wasted trying (and failing) to communicate with someone. ..View less

Paying the extra money for extra coverage for the HVAC system is NOT worth it, especially if you have old system. Our is 12 years old and we new it was on the older side when buying our home, hence getting our home warranty. We've had it serviced a few times already but it still hasn't been functioning properly and then the compressor finally went bad. Thinking with its age, it would make sense to replace the outdoor unit instead of just replacing the compressor (especially since R22 compressors and refrigerant has been banned from further production). Then was told that the purchasing/parts department take 3-5 days to do the required research to approve any parts being ordered. However, they didn't take any time in deciding to just replace the compressor since it was ordered the same day the contractor sent in the diagnosis. Because of Covid, it has been even more difficult to get the compressor part in, we have now been without AC for 2 weeks in 100 degree weather. Granted, this is no fault of the company, but the home portal only gives so much information. To get more info on the ET of when our unit is getting fixed, I have to call. The hold times for 2-10 are ridiculous! Out of the multiple representatives I've spoken to over the past week, only one was super nice and understanding of our situation (I'm also 8 months pregnant). We have also not been pleased with the contractor that the warranty company has chosen to go with since they were too slow with relaying proper information to the warranty company. After further looking, this contractor has many of the same complaints, but 2-10 continues to use them. So we will be cancelling our coverage with 2-10 as soon as possible. ..View less

Today is the 9th and I can't reach anyone to find out when I'll have AC again. I spent 53 minutes waiting to talk to someone before I had to hang up because I'm at work. Before I called 2-10 I had a tech from another another company come out and they had the parts in hand on July 31. Pity I thought that was going to be too expensive and decided to use the policy I've been paying on for 5 years. As a fat guy in Texas in August, this is not worth it. ..View less

The company reached out to ask if the work had been completed, which it has. The issue was that I had to wait until the 12th because the warranty company had to ship a part to the AC company, thereby adding 8 days to the process. If the parts are available locally, why not allow the AC company to use those locally available parts and avoid the wait?

A major heat wave hit my city knocking out my AC. I didn't want to be stuck in a hotel for a week while it was over 100 degrees in my house so I decided to open a claim and ask/verify that I could go third party. My initial call to submit a claim I specifically inquired on if I could go third party and the process of doing so. I was told that they allow third party and that I would just submit the invoice and proof of payment. I thought this was easy enough so I had a contractor come out and fix the AC, then even payed the 100 to have a first party contractor come out and see if there were any other problems. Once I put on my claim that I went third party and attached the invoice, another employee reached out and told me the process of submitting the claim and the process of doing so. Both employees super helpful! Then two weeks later I get a response saying that they cannot cover the third party contractor since it wasn't approved and that per the contract they are not obligated to cover the cost. I talked with the employee #3, giving my side of the situation and apologizing if anything was done incorrectly and if anything could be figured out / fixed. I was told nothing could be done and that they couldn't help me. This really upset me since I had talked to two other employees who saw no issues with the situation and I believed that I had verbal consent, especially since they set up the ticket. I asked if this someone else could take a look at it, but we will see. ..View less

MY NIGHTMARE WITH 2-10 Today, it has been 3 months (4/12/2021) since I first called to request service for my HVAC. Since that day, I have not had appropriate cooling or heat in my house. Since April 12, there have been 50 days where the temperature outside was over 80 degrees (April 3 days, May 14 days, June 19 days, and so far in July 14 days). I live with my wife, an adult son, with cystic fibrosis, and 6 dogs. I have a heart condition that requires that I exercise and not have stress. Let’s just say, that before this started I did not need heart surgery and now, I will be having heart surgery on August 4rth. My son is my biggest worry. Due to his cystic fibrosis, his lungs should not be exposed to hot temperatures or cold temperatures. The best temperature for his lungs is 72 degrees. Also, it is best for him if the air around him comes from air conditioners as pollen and dust particles progressively damage his lungs. During this time, we’ve added air purifiers to the house to keep the air fresh and clean while the windows were open. On June, the 17th year cicadas arrived, with decibel levels sometimes as high as 80, and we had to close the windows to block the sound. These last three months have been a nightmare with no end in sight. Here is a summary of the highlights of my interaction with 2-10 On April 12, 2021 So Cool Solutions (SCS) was dispatched to my home because the HVAC unit was not working properly. At that time, SCS indicated that the unit was beyond repair and that a new unit would order. On April 21, the contractor indicated that he had not received the unit even though 2-10 has a delivery confirmation. On April 28 (7 days after the delivery confirmation) we had not heard anything from the contractor or 2-10. On April 29, the installers started giving me excuses as to the delay. On May 3rd, the contractors showed up unannounced without the unit. Took a look at the area (they had already been to the house of April 21) and left. On May 4rth, the contractor indicated that they would not be able to install the unit because they were missing parts and he had no additional support (help) on that day. The contractor canceled their work on that day. On May 6th, the contractor removed the old unit and left it in my backyard. They worked for 5 hrs and did not finish. The contractor promised to return the next day because at this point, we had not cooling or fan in the house. We spent the next 3 days with temperatures over 80 degrees. On May 8th, the contractor, having missed their appointment the day before, called to say that they would arrive on at 9:00am May 9th, Mother Day. We canceled our Mother’s Day celebration as the house had no cooling. On May 9th (Mother’s Day), the contractors arrived at 2:00PM, 5 hrs after their scheduled appointment. There were two installers and a small child, related to one of the contractors. At 7:00PM, the contractor indicated that they had completed the installation. At this time, they removed the old rusted unit that had been left on the dog yard. When we inspected the basement, where the unit is located, we realized that the contractors dragged their equipment and dirty shoes through our cream colored carpeting. On May 10th, we contracted a company to shampoo the carpets to eliminate the stains. During the next 2 weeks, we had cold weather so we did not push the system although we started to notice that the temperature upstairs was noticeably warmer than downstairs. Since a new unit had been installed and a lot of dust had been moved through the system, we decided to clean the air ducts. The duct cleaner notice that the return air duct was not attached to the new system. Since the unit was new and had just been installed, I submitted a new claim on May 25th. On May 28th, SCS canceled their appointment and ghosted us until June 3rd. At this time, my son went to stay with my in-laws as we had no cooling in the house and this was affecting his lungs. On June 3rd, SCS worked on the system and ordered a “part” that according to them was missing. On June 8th, SCS came back “part” and left after 15 minutes. They did not notify us that they were leaving without fixing the system. To make matters worst, they left the gate to the dog yard opened and four of our dogs escaped. Needless to say, our dogs are like family members and having to worry that I would not see my dogs again was excruciating. Luckily, and with some help, we were able to safely locate all four dogs. On June 15, SCS communicated to 2-10 that they need another part. This is when we noticed, that the unit was collecting water at the bottom tray. On June 17, I asked for an update from SCS. They texted me a picture of the Lennox order and blamed Lennox for the missing part. Since I had the order number (included in the picture sent) I called Lennox. Lennox supplied a tracking number, which I tracked. This is when I discovered that SCS, again, had lied. The part had been delivered to SCS on June 26th a Saturday. On June 22, after sleeping without cooling for over two months, I purchased a window AC for our bedroom. On June 28th, SCS was still claiming that they had not received the part. After calling and pressuring 2-10 to do their job, 2-10 forced SCS to schedule the installation of the part on June 29. The part was installed and that night the system froze. SCS indicated that the issue seemed to be that the system was not pulling return air. At this time, the principal of SCS stop communicating with us. SCS sent one of the original installers to try to fix the unit. On July the 2nd, the original installer from SCS stops communicating as well. On July 5th, I placed a call to 2-10. The person who took my call indicated that the unit was not fixable and not to worry that we would get another unit. I followed up with 2-10 on, July 7th. This time the person on the phone indicated that she had no record of my conversation on July 5th. She indicated that the records indicated that we requested a new contractor and refused SCS. I want to clarify that, I never asked for a new contractor. My contract is with 2-10 and it is 2-10’s responsibility to supervise the contractor, however, I agreed that a new set of eyes would be the best! CMR Ventures LLC was assigned by 2-10. I immediately checked their reviews online and was very concerned as their current rating is 1.5 stars. SCS had 3 stars. On July 8th, CMR Ventures LLC came to the house to look at the system outside, did not come into the house. CMR indicated that they would submit to 2-10 that evening the request for additional parts. On July 9th, I followed up with CMR and they indicated that the request had been submitted that morning. On July 12th, I followed up with 2-10, which was the 3 month anniversary from the original claim. At that time, 2-10 indicated that they had not received the work order from CMR. On July 13, 2-10 (Loli) called to set up an appointment for Thursday, July 15th. No time for the appointment was given. Or confirmation from CMR On July 15, CMR did not show up! As expected,. On July 16 we submitted a complaint with the attorney general in Maryland. We have tried to accommodate the installers within the limits of proper patience but we feel that we were taken advantage of. I mentioned at the beginning of the letter the health problems associated with this event but I also want to mention, the number of hours that we have spent trying to find a resolution to get the unit operational. All three of us work full time, having to constantly call to wait on hold for an average of an hour and a half, having to cancel meetings with clients because of the noise generated by the installers, the constant disruptions from the installers, and having to be in the house for long hours waiting for the installers have been a major disruption to our lives. We had to postpone the Mother’s Day celebration. We had to hold Father’s Day celebration in the heat because the house had no cooling. We were embarrassed when, while having a party at the house, the system froze and stopped working. Causing our party to end early. ..View less

I purchased a one-year home warranty policy from 2-10 Home Warranty Company of 13900 East Harvard Avenue, Aurora CA 80014 (Service agreement # 10519074; last renewed 9/23/20) and have been unable to obtain any warranty service for a claim that I originated on 3/14/21. I believe this company is fraudulently collecting warranty fees, while willfully intending (rather than out of neglect) to avoid fulfilling their claims. Insufficient customer service provides one mechanism for to avoid the filing, pursuit of, and fulfillment of warranty claims. Contracting with irreputable appliance companies accomplishes the same outcome; an unfulfilled claim. I filed three independent claims for the same warranty issue (icemaker failure) over the last 4 months; each claim no more without successful than the last. Each claim, approximately one month apart, involved a different appliance company subcontracted by 2-10 requiring an $85 visit fee to diagnose my need for a new ice maker; each company promising me that they would initiate an order for replacement. I attempted to reach each of these three companies 2-3 weeks after their service appointment to obtain an update. The first of the three companies (Fusion Air Conditioning; work order 8353261) never answered or returned my 10 calls prompting a second claim with 2-10. The second company (K G Appliance Repair Experts) whose phone number provided by me by 2-10 was not even an existing number, (even 2-10 couldn't reach them) prompted a third claim. That appliance repairman assured me it would take only 4-5 days to receive a new icemaker. Having not heard anything from this third appliance company (Daybreak Appliance Repair) after 2-3 weeks of their appointment, I also attempted to reach them over several days without success. I then contacted 2-10 and was misinformed by customer service that a new icemaker had indeed been ordered and was in route. Two weeks later, I was finally able to reach the 3rd company and I was informed that they no knowledge of an icemaker order, and asked me to refer all further inquiries back to 2-10. On June 30th, I had a one hour and 15 min call with a 2-10 customer service agent; all but 5 minutes of it placed on hold. I was told that there was actually no longer a replacement ice maker being manufactured, and that I would be receiving an email response within 4-5 business days regarding replacement of my refrigerator. Why was I not told in March that there were no replacement ice makers available? Why did it require 3 different companies to come to my house? I have had no source of ice since March. Following 9 days without any such email responses, I was unwilling to waste another 1 hour on hold, so I sent a request on the 2-10 website for a review of my claim on July 9. This went unanswered. On July 12, I e-mailed a letter of complaint to their corporate office in Colorado, again without acknowledgement or response. Over the last four-months, I have placed approximately 12 calls to 2-10 (average hold time was 30 minutes) and made approximately 40 attempts to reach these 3 appliance companies. I’ve wasted at least 5 hours of my time. I have read multiple similar complaints regarding this company online. ..View less

I ended up with a 2-10 warranty when I bought my house. Of course, the real estate agent was going on about what a good thing it is (even when the seller was the poor sucker who paid for it). A few months after moving in, I noticed the fridge was leaking a bit of water. I disconnected the fridge from the water line- no big deal, as the water was only needed for the ice maker (I am old enough that I can make do with ice cube trays). Then I called 2-10 to see about getting a repairman to come out. After a lengthy dance with the automated menu, I was on hold about 45 minutes until a customer service rep was available to speak to me. They said they would get ahold of a repair company, and the company will contact me within 24 hours. The next day the company did reach out to schedule an appointment. Unfortunately, the woman who called must have been at home on her cell phone, as I could barely hear her over the screaming toddlers in the background. The conversation was even worse as she spoke very little English, and she had to keep asking me to repeat what I was saying. Somehow, we managed to get an appointment scheduled with the repairman for 2 days later. After hanging up, I was wondering about this repair company, so I decided to look up customer reviews, and the vast majority were negative. Most of the customers were unhappy that the repair guys who arrived were often late, extremely rude, unprofessional, looked like convicts, did not have all the tools they needed, did bad work, and left messes behind. Based on what I read, I decided to cancel my appointment. I tried to call back the woman I booked the appointment with, but she didn't answer and, oddly, I was not given an option to leave a voice mail. I tried 5 times to call her back- no answer, no voice option. I had to do some internet digging, and was able to find a different phone number for the company- this number got through, and it was for the guy who actually owns the company- his cell phone, which he answered while he was driving on the road. I said I had tried to call the woman back several times, and he replied, "oh yeah, her phone sometimes doesn't work." Like this was not a big deal when you are running a business. So I cancelled my appointment with him. Then I called 2-10 and cancelled my policy with them. I can only hope the home seller who was suckered into paying for the warranty got a refund. Things for people to bear in mind about 2-10 (or any home warranty service): - You cannot choose your own contractor. After reading so many negative reviews about 2-10 and other companies, it is obvious that these companies contract with the lowest, scummiest contractors. Bottom of the barrel. The ones who would get no business otherwise. Best thing to do: Make sure you build up an emergency fund for repairs and hire your own contractor- someone with good, detailed reviews. If you are active duty or a veteran, ask if they have a military discount. - You can refuse to buy the warranty. Your real estate agent is going to be pushy about the warranty. Ask them point blank: "Is this warranty required by law?" If not, then tell your agent to go flip sand. The agent is only pushing it because they benefit from you buying it. If you are the home seller, ask yourself why you would purchase a home warranty for a home you are no longer living in? If you are the home buyer, shop around for insurance policies that offer service line coverage as an add-on. You can also look up the model numbers of your large appliances, and check with the companies to see if the appliances are still under warranty. Overall, 2-10 is not worth the expense. ..View less

I am a first-time homebuyer. I reported a leak in my master bathroom 1 month after moving into my house to 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty, and they referred me to Anytime Home Services for a plumber consult. Anytime Home Services then referred me to EcoDry stating that I needed this company to provide access for their plumber. The plumber did not coordinate with EcoDry. EcoDry caused substantial damage to my home trying to find the cause of the leak in my bathroom, that they were unqualified to find. EcoDry then referred me to another company to repair the damages they caused trying to find the leak. The plumber came to my home the following day, but did not diagnose the cause of the leak. He stated that the cause must be what EcoDry found. From my experience, 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty refers customers to companies that may have relationships with other companies and they provide kickbacks for the referrals. The referred companies do not provide satisfactory work (i.e. assessment, documentation, etc.). As a result, I'm now stuck paying thousands out-of-pocket for the damages made to my home from these referred companies. I give 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty zero stars in all categories. I emailed a letter to 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty (email@2-10.com) on 6/20/21 detailing my experience. I am sending a hard copy in the mail. I look forward to discussing my concerns with their Customer Service Team. I called today to find an email address for customer feedback, it's not published on their website in the customer portal.
