    Review: Very poor service . It toOk several unreturn calls to get a service company assigned. I was told I,could cancel at any time . Policy started in JULY 2012 I tried to cancel Oct. 2012.I hAVE SENT SEVERAL E MAILS, PHONE CALLS AND STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVE A REPLY OF REFUND. i WOULD GIVE THIS COMPANY THE LOWEST RATING.

    Review: AHS is fine, unless you have to speak to someone. They don\'t answer emails, and they keep customers on hold for an hour every time you have to call. Who has an hour to sit on hold? So your home repairs have to wait until you have a day to sit on hold, which makes the warranty itself less useful. Contractors also don\'t like dealing with AHS as they also complain about the long hold times.

    Review: We had AHS since September'14. Soon after moving in our water heater shorted it's controller. AHS sent out a repair company on the weekend. Due to a history of not paying that company for weekend service, the company made us pay the whole bill. Then our zone dampener shorted. I called and specifically told AHS representative the exact problem, they sent a repair crew then refused to pay the bill. When I called them, and reported that their repr. had stated it would be covered, they said they would review the phone records and call me back. They never did. Now our septic field pump has gone out. First they attempted to send a plumber that didn't work on septic fields. Their answer was their system doesn't identify what their individual contractor do. Mean while I had to call in a 24 hour response crew to keep our basement from flooding with sewage. They finally gave approval for an outside vendor to provide the service but that I would have to pay up front. When the vendor called to report the issue as they had requested, AHS called us back and reported they only covered the septic pump if it was in the house, funny my contract doesn't have that clause. Our neighbor also has them. They had an A/C repair recently, several of the components required for the repair where because of manufacturer recommendation as part of the entire repair. AHS only covered a small part of the bill stating the rest was an upgrade. I'm not sure about other companies, but this is not one I would recommend and when it expires 9/26/14 we will not be renewing.

    Review: We called in about our water heater not working properly. The company that called me to come look at it was an hour late. Then they said we would hear from them in the next day or so after they talked to AHS about it. I haven't heard from them so i called the plumbing company today left a message and have called numerous times today to try and get an answer because a water heater is important for people like me that want to shower everyday. Nothing from them still so i called AHS and they informed me that Lenny D's has not even called in to them to discuss the problems with my water heater. They informed me there is nothing they can do until the plumbing company calls them. Must be nice to sit behind there desk there and go home to a shower with warm water while i have to figure things out on my own.

    Review: I appreciated the friendly response I received when I reported my washer neededcrepair. / The first service man came and found the problem and explained that he would have to order the parts and if would be notified for the installation. When I was called to schedule my repair. Again was friendly and print. Sears service came to install the new parts. He was friendly, quick, professional and clean. Happy with service and process.

    Review: The last experience I had with AHS was replacing my stovetop due to a crack that could not be repaired. The serviceman that installed the replacement went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that the replacement was installed securely and properly. He even went under the house although he was not required to do so. He won me as a customer after such good service.

    Review: For this instance, the overall experience was terrible. No heat during the coldest weekend in Chicago in 50 years. No person to answer the phone, Heating person arrived Saturday morning. He knew he couldn\'t repair the issue without going to the store immediately before close, insisted on stepping into the house (to make it a true home visit), then failed to fix the problem. $600 later, and a friend who is a Heating and Air company owner, the problem was fixed. Very disappointed, and now $600 in the hole. No emergency service number to call, only automated service. What a joke!

    Review: From the service request to the actual repair visit, everything is done efficiently and with minimal fuss. The contractors are very clear in explaining the problem and whether it is a covered issue or not. Usually, I'm never in touch with AHS except for the yearly renewals and the initial service requests. AHS is very responsive whenever there is a problem with a contractor's behavior.

    Review: I recentley had my refrigirator looke at about four time till it was said to be unrepairable. W ell I was offered a replacemnet at no cost or I could upgrade and pay the difference. I found this awesome in years past I was with another company and they would not do anything like that.I find American Home Shield to be the best at what they do. This is just one time of many others they have come thru on repairs at my home.

    Review: A+ service - From the beginning I received top notch service. The first appointment I had to reschedule due to my work schedule. The dispatcher assisted me with finding a new suitable appointment. The day of my appointment the service tech was very friendly, courteous, timely, and knowledgeable. He came in, assessed issue, and explained to me what problem was in terms I could understand, then fixed it. He was in and out of here in less than an hour. In addition, the dispatcher was very accomodating, efficient, and courteous. The company as a whole was wonderful and I appreciate the follow up. Awesome service!!!!

    Review: We had American Home Shield, and we were repeatedly having problems with our air conditioning unit. Everytime we called we told them NOT to contact a certain air conditioning company in the area, they would come out and do NOTHING to service the air conditioner. We suffered through massive amounts of high heat over the summer, the house temp would read up to 90 degrees, even at 8 pm at night. We kept calling to get the coil replaced, the air conditioning service claimed they replaced the coil, but another company told us that it wasnt true. Because we kept calling about the air conditioner they cancelled us. This company does not run on a basis of fairness and customer satisfaction. A rip off!!

    Review: I needed a repair on my furnace, Star home comfort sent a technician out and the work was handled without a large amount of fuss. I was called when the technician was enroute and his appearance was that of a professional, very clean and dressed in approiate clothes. / / The problem was diagonosed and parts had to be ordered. Being late on a Friday, I was expecting to wait until Tuesday for the part, but it was ordered Friday night and I had heat again Monday afternoon.(this was great since it was during the cold spell we had in HOuston and the temps outside were in the 20"s) / / I have always been treated kindly when I call American HOme Shield and tell people about the great service I have recieved.

Ahs provided a quality experience that was professionally handled from the time the first call was put in to the time the repair was completed. The claim was quick and easy with our ahs technitian setting up a time that the repair company would be at the property and prompt follow up by the rest of the ahs team to make sure that the problem was solved!

    Review: Quick to respond. Quick to repair. And the technician was very knowledgeable. He even provided further suggestions to help. / The process to file a claim was quite easy too! Just went online, selected the problem(s) and waited for a phone call for service. Less than a few hours later I was scheduled for repair. My dryer actually stopped working; it was repaired. Prior to the technician leaving, I was told to call AHS if the dryer quit again...4 loads later it quit. So all I did was call AHS, and they put in for a service recall, at no charge to me. I'm up and running again, and only paid my 1 time service fee! So again, thank you AHS for making this easy!
