The wait over the phone is extremely long and there is no callback feature. They still have not procured the compressor. Their vendor is ready to replace the compressor in a couple of days if we buy it from them! The cashback option offered (if we buy the compressor) is ridiculously low and differs with each representative. The only reason I have a home warranty is because of A/C failure which I am renewing for the last 8 years. The company has failed us at the time of need. ..View less

Regarding Fidelity Home Warranty’s treatment of a military family. My terms of coverage under my plan with Fidelity Home Warranty (FHW) states that it covers the electrical system. The specifics it mentions is All parts and components that affect operation. I thought it was rather vague so I called Fidelity Home Warranty to see if my warranty covered a meter clip replacement that is considered part of my home and underneath my electric companies (SRP) meter box that a main wire connects to. The wire and the clip are not the property of SRP. The representative said yes. Since they said yes, I submitted an emergency claim because my wife, children, and pets have no electricity turned on.There is nothing in my home that doesn’t run off electricity. SRP had removed their meter and I had to shut off the breakers because of risk of fire. I explained to FHW that the electrician they would be send to my house would need SRP to come out in order for them to diagnose the issue. FHW assigned Sunbelt Electricity (SE) to come to my home to diagnose the issue. When communicating with SE, their representative said that they call SRP for the customer and the customer doesn’t have to worry about it. SE made an appointment for 4 days later. So that my family and pets would not die of heat exhaustion and hunger, I purchased a generator to run fans and a refrigerator. I thought it would be better than risking a fire by turning the breaker on. During the 4 day wait 2 pets died. When SE showed up 4 days later, they came without informing the SRP that they would be there. SE stopped by for 5 minutes and left. They informed FHW that they could not diagnose the problem because there was no electricity. I called SE and informed them that there was electricity running to my home and that SRP had only removed the meter, but did not turn off the electricity. SE said they could not complete the diagnosis because SRP had to open the box and connect their meter back. This is something that I had asked FHW to communicate to the electrician when I first called to make a claim. SE said that FHW denied anymore work to be done and they would not come to my home to finish diagnosing the issue. I called FHW and explained the situation. FHW said that it was my responsibility to get SE to come back to my home to finish their diagnosis. I explained that they would not because SE said that FHW would not authorize them to. I asked if they would do a 3 way call with Sunbelt. FWH said it was against their policy. I live in Glendale, Arizona. It is the beginning of September and it still reaches over 100 degrees outside. My wife is a house wife and we have children and animals. During all this it is a risk of setting our home on fire if I turn on the breaker to run the air conditioning, water heater, stove, refrigerator, washer and dryer. We can’t run the filter to the pool and it has begun to turn green and attract mosquitos on top of all the problems. I submitted a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. I informed FHW that I did that and the representative refused to speak to me. I asked to speak to a manager and the representative refused to transfer me to one. I have had to call an electric company to come out and fix it out of my own pocket. If anyone is interested in the plan that I purchased, it is the SFH Comp Plus Rnw. The contract fee I paid for a year was $1330.00. It is more expensive than a lot of home warranty companies. Each claim that is made, they charge an $85 fee. In this situation, there has been no resolution or adequate explanation of why the electric company they sent didn’t complete their assessment. When I hired another company to come out, they came out within 12 hours and were able to assess and diagnose the issue quite easily. The estimate for the job is $769. If Fidelity Home Warranty would have just said they won’t cover it in the beginning (but they say that they do), the I would have spent less than the generator and fuel I purchased that I have been running for 5 days straight now to run a couple of fans and a refrigerator. ..View less

Don't waste your money with FNHW....they refuse to repair covered damage. It is astounding to me that they are getting away with this. And the plumber they sent to our house was completely incompetent and had no repair equipment with him....like he wasn't even a real plumber.

Hold times have been long, between 20-45 minutes and while most representatives have been fairly professional none of them came across as polite or courteous and some have been outright argumentative. It took over 3 months for my claim to be resolved and I am still going back and forth with Fidelity because they charged the service fee twice because the repair company did not submit reports for most of their early service calls and when I contacted Fidelity to make a recall they had to process it as a new claim due to the lacking reports. So brace yourself for being penalized as the consumer because the repair company doesn't submit reports. I will definitely not renew my contract with Fidelity and shop around for a different home warranty company when the time comes. ..View less

But refrigerator took weeks. The washer took a month and the air conditioner took two months to repair. Excuses galore but there is no excuse keeping clients on hold for sometimes over two hours. It was a joke. And the surly attitude of some, not all, of customer service reps. You would think they would at least install a call-back system. And I don’t know if it is just his company but the techs were never anything to write home about. I’m going to try a different company. Oh, and my copays and hidden charges to replace the air conditioner in addition came to close to $2k for items that were certainly part of the process but not covered. I’m outta here. ..View less

On September 16, 2021, the air conditioner went out in my rental. I was particularly concerned because the tenant is an elderly woman, and we live in a very warm climate with temperatures near 100 degrees. I filed a claim with Fidelity National Home Warranty on-line, and paid the $75.00 service fee at that time. On September 20, a local vendor diagnosed the problem as a blown compressor. Then, the nightmare began. After hearing nothing for a few days, I contacted the vendor. He told me he submitted his diagnostic report to FNHW on September 21 and had not received authorization to replace the blown compressor. I then called “customer service” at FNHW. After being disconnected several times, navigating through countless recorded instructions, then being placed on hold for over half an hour, I was finally able to talk to “Gabriella” at Fidelity National. I explained my emergency situation, and she said it takes 2 days to approve the repair (it had already been 3 days.). That was 14 days, and numerous calls, ago – each with the same obstacle course required to reach anyone. And the claim, which is very clearly covered by the policy, has still not been approved. I have attempted to contact the company 9 times, but have only been able to reach a real person 5 times. Wait times have exceeded an hour and, two times, I was disconnected mid-sentence. On both occasions the person to whom I spoke had my phone number but did not call me back. Each “customer service” person has had a very heavy Hispanic accent, and are difficult to understand, but it is apparent that they all have the same script. Basically, it is “I am so sorry for your inconvenience, but we have to wait until the “Approval Department,” approves your claim.” When I have asked to speak to a supervisor or manager, the “customer service” rep says they are not available at the moment, but that they would call me back. Nobody has ever called me back. If Fidelity National Home Warranty is actually functioning as a legitimate business, it is the most poorly run organization I have ever encountered. But I don’t believe even the most incompetent company could consistently display the level of total ineptitude and outright indifference I have witnessed. Instead, I believe that they have purposefully adopted a business model designed to avoid paying legitimate claims by frustrating claimants to the point that they decide to pay for their own repairs. ..View less

We reported two issues, they unfortunately are important ones (built-in refrigerator and air conditioner). 6 months ago when we had a similar claim on our built-in fridge they had 3 different services providers come out and ended up adding Freon and calling it good. It hasn’t worked properly since but nearly a month ago it stopped completely. First service provider came out and again they didn’t want to pay for the large list of parts that need replaced. So they are sending another service provider and starting the process over. Of course that service provider can’t come until next week. AC- similar issue. Service provider came out and said some main components need replaced. They are giving us the run around to have approved. Besides the inconvenience of no working refrigerator and a struggling AC in the summer heat, I’ve spent hours and hours on hold trying to get answers and the issues resolved. I’ve documented every call and missed work for the service calls as well as lost food. My next move if this isn’t resolved in the near future is a lawsuit and public attention. ..View less

While waiting Fidelity to offer replacement at the end, they told me that my cooktop was repaired fully and the case was closed. It was like a joke. Later confirmed with the assigned appliance company (Fast Appliances, TX) that the technician submitted that our cooktop was fully-repaired despite the fact that it wasn't. I was speechless! Customer service rep at Fidelity kept asking they need to send another technician to re-diagnose 3-4 month-old problem to proceed with the case. At that point, we were tired with technician visits and the only solution was to cancel Fidelity policy and fixing our problem ourselves. From beginning to the end, the issue was handled very poorly. Recommend being very careful before deciding to work with this company. Be ready for poor quality customer service and more. ..View less

Avoid at all costs. Save your premiums, service call fees, and what you are going to have to pay out of pocket to fix what their contractors break and you will be able to pay for all repairs through contractors that you research and vet. FNHWs customer service is atrocious. Most of the time they dont answer the phone and when they do is to be rude and condescending.
