No representative contacted me and I ended up just paying the service fee. Trying to reach a rep on the phone to resolve was time consuming as I was put on hold for more than 30 minutes each time I called in.

But refrigerator took weeks. The washer took a month and the air conditioner took two months to repair. Excuses galore but there is no excuse keeping clients on hold for sometimes over two hours. It was a joke. And the surly attitude of some, not all, of customer service reps. You would think they would at least install a call-back system. And I don’t know if it is just his company but the techs were never anything to write home about. I’m going to try a different company. Oh, and my copays and hidden charges to replace the air conditioner in addition came to close to $2k for items that were certainly part of the process but not covered. I’m outta here. ..View less

On September 16, 2021, the air conditioner went out in my rental. I was particularly concerned because the tenant is an elderly woman, and we live in a very warm climate with temperatures near 100 degrees. I filed a claim with Fidelity National Home Warranty on-line, and paid the $75.00 service fee at that time. On September 20, a local vendor diagnosed the problem as a blown compressor. Then, the nightmare began. After hearing nothing for a few days, I contacted the vendor. He told me he submitted his diagnostic report to FNHW on September 21 and had not received authorization to replace the blown compressor. I then called “customer service” at FNHW. After being disconnected several times, navigating through countless recorded instructions, then being placed on hold for over half an hour, I was finally able to talk to “Gabriella” at Fidelity National. I explained my emergency situation, and she said it takes 2 days to approve the repair (it had already been 3 days.). That was 14 days, and numerous calls, ago – each with the same obstacle course required to reach anyone. And the claim, which is very clearly covered by the policy, has still not been approved. I have attempted to contact the company 9 times, but have only been able to reach a real person 5 times. Wait times have exceeded an hour and, two times, I was disconnected mid-sentence. On both occasions the person to whom I spoke had my phone number but did not call me back. Each “customer service” person has had a very heavy Hispanic accent, and are difficult to understand, but it is apparent that they all have the same script. Basically, it is “I am so sorry for your inconvenience, but we have to wait until the “Approval Department,” approves your claim.” When I have asked to speak to a supervisor or manager, the “customer service” rep says they are not available at the moment, but that they would call me back. Nobody has ever called me back. If Fidelity National Home Warranty is actually functioning as a legitimate business, it is the most poorly run organization I have ever encountered. But I don’t believe even the most incompetent company could consistently display the level of total ineptitude and outright indifference I have witnessed. Instead, I believe that they have purposefully adopted a business model designed to avoid paying legitimate claims by frustrating claimants to the point that they decide to pay for their own repairs. ..View less

They deserve “0” stars. ABSOLUTELY fraudulent. We reported two issues, they unfortunately are important ones (built-in refrigerator and air conditioner). 6 months ago when we had a similar claim on our built-in fridge they had 3 different services providers come out and ended up adding Freon and calling it good. It hasn’t worked properly since but nearly a month ago it stopped completely. First service provider came out and again they didn’t want to pay for the large list of parts that need replaced. So they are sending another service provider and starting the process over. Of course that service provider can’t come until next week. AC- similar issue. Service provider came out and said some main components need replaced. They are giving us the run around to have approved. Besides the inconvenience of no working refrigerator and a struggling AC in the summer heat, I’ve spent hours and hours on hold trying to get answers and the issues resolved. I’ve documented every call and missed work for the service calls as well as lost food. My next move if this isn’t resolved in the near future is a lawsuit and public attention. ..View less

While waiting Fidelity to offer replacement at the end, they told me that my cooktop was repaired fully and the case was closed. It was like a joke. Later confirmed with the assigned appliance company (Fast Appliances, TX) that the technician submitted that our cooktop was fully-repaired despite the fact that it wasn't. I was speechless! Customer service rep at Fidelity kept asking they need to send another technician to re-diagnose 3-4 month-old problem to proceed with the case. At that point, we were tired with technician visits and the only solution was to cancel Fidelity policy and fixing our problem ourselves. From beginning to the end, the issue was handled very poorly. Recommend being very careful before deciding to work with this company. Be ready for poor quality customer service and more. ..View less

Avoid at all costs. Save your premiums, service call fees, and what you are going to have to pay out of pocket to fix what their contractors break and you will be able to pay for all repairs through contractors that you research and vet. FNHWs customer service is atrocious. Most of the time they dont answer the phone and when they do is to be rude and condescending.

This was revealed late in the process unfortunately. While all agents and technicians I encountered were polite and soothing, they consistently failed to communicate with me until I initiated phone contact. I was told by specialists multiple times (3 at least) that they would resolve the issue quickly and contact me with updates. Unfortunately they could not keep their word. I understand with the pandemic that glitches and delays are expected. But this company needs to remedy some major systemic issues. I am totally unsatisfied with the 'service' that was provided, and cannot recommend them as a trustworthy company.
