Review: We have had American Home Shield for 20 years and I can highly recommend them. We recently had our air conditioning go out on Sunday afternoon. I had a service tech response that evening, talked with the company Monday morning and had my AC back on by noon! Part of what makes them outstanding is they have contracts with responsive companies. Even when we had an issue one time with a service company, it was taken care of appropriately by American Home Shield and that company never returned to our home. They are certainly not perfect, and they are only as good as the people who represent them, but in 20 years we have been extremely satisfied.

Review: Can never talk to a real person on the weekends, had a Stove issue, Tech stated they did not service that brand and that AHS would get back with me, AHS charged me $75.00 and the Stove was never fixed attempted time after time to call, stated wait times were 10min\'s, 30 min,s I even had one that stated an hour. Tried to place a call for an emergency AC repair here in South Texas inside temp was 94 degrees, the A/C companies web site even stated 24/7 emergency service and I even called them never heard back, sent them an email to cancel the service call since AHS could not be reached to do it. STAY AWAY FROM AHS AND GO TO CHOICE, CHEAPER AND YOU CAN TALK TO A REAL PERSON ON A WEEKEND. I HAVE HAD AHS SINCE 1991 NO LONGER WILL I DEAL WITH THEM AND SURPRISED THEY EVEN HAVE A B RATING FROM THE BBB, IT SHOULD BE AN F

Review: Plan Number: 25-773-658 Work Order Number: 5900-8105 Purchased a new home and received "Ultimate Warranty Package" at closing. 1st day in new home, find out the oven does not work. ORHP very quick to schedule service provider, but nothing was followed up on. The service provider, "Ken\'s Appliance" no showed the first day scheduled and called at 9pm saying he would be there next morning (no apology). 2nd day scheduled no show and called at 10pm saying he was busy all day and would be there tomorrow first thing in the morning (again no apology). 3rd day no call no show, so I call ORHP customer service line specifically describing the issue hoping for a resolution and received "If he said he would be there, then call us when he does not show up". Well....I thought that was what I was doing. The service of Ken\'s Appliance is as expected from a poorly run service provider, but the expectation of a reputable company like Old Republic has caused us to contact our lending and title company to recommend they remove Old Republic from their list of warranty protection providers. So far the response from them is they are more than likely going to drop them due to the complaint rates. Thank you.

Review: AHS started out being very responsive to our service calls. Their service has gone down hill over the years. Long wait times, repairmen showing up that are rude and AHS denying basic claims with out recourse.

Review: It was an overall great experience. We had problems with one of our heating units. The technician came out the next day. He came at the time he said he would and was able to solve our heating problems in less than half an hour. We were very pleased with the timeliness and the professionalism of the contractor. A++++

Review: Air conditioning service repair. I went very well. Responding technicians were very nice and did a good job. Replace parts and labor were covered by the base service fee of $75.00 except for the coolant.

Review: Called for failing A/C, and they sent out a repairman. The repairman said that since the interior of the home was 20 degrees cooler than the outside air temp, their policy dictates that the A/C was working within their their 20 degree differential policy and there was nothing else that can be done. I explained that the house was extremely well insulated and even without the A/C turned on, the house would maintain 20 degree differential. I called him back out the next day after having left the A/C off all day, to prove that it was the house and not the A/C that was maintaining the 20 degree differential. He still insisted thst , as per their guidelines, the 20 degree differential meant that the A/C was working fine. I called them out a total of 3 times for second and third opinions. They refused to do anything other than measure outside air temp against inside air temp, and rinse the coils off with my garden hose. I cancelled American Home Shield and hired a real A/C service who came out and tested the system, and found that the compressor was on its way out the door. Replaced compressor and all was well. NOTE TO ALL....AMERICAN HOME SHIELD ONLY CONTRACTS WITH REPAIR CONPANIES WHOS FINDINGS AND RULINGS LAND IN THEIR FAVOR....ITS LIKE LAS VEGAS, THE ODDS ARE ALWAYS STACKED IN THE HOUSE'S FAVOR.

Review: My initial claim was eventually settled for cash since the company refused to replace the microwave in stainless as was the original. Service response was in the four to five day range. Recently my air conditioner malfunctioned and rather than wait for a four or five day response I had the unit serviced myself then submitted the claim. It was denied because as stipulated in the policy I did not call them first. A very greedy company. I highly DO NOT recommend.

Review: I think AHS needs to consider the age of a home as well as insuring what the service provider can and can not do. We had a very old gas dryer that stopped heating. The first company said they could not touch it because it was too old. The second company put in for a replacement. The replacement company said they could not install a gas dryer in the garage. The second company came back, turned off the gas and installed the dryer, but would not relight the water heater pilot light because they were not plumbers. I had to pay out of pocket to a plumber to have them relight the water heater. Three weeks in all.

Review: The contractor "Jerry Pluming" was outstanding when the repaired an item in my home two months ago. The tech was a professional and knew what I need to resolve my problem. He was patience as I asked questions and provided a step by step plan. I would recommend this service. I also had an outstanding experience with American Home Shield customer service representative who appeared to be really concerned about my well being and satisfaction.

Review: I have had the warranty for two Years. In that time I have had 1/2 dozen claims for service. Each time it took little time to get repair, but in three occasions something had to be replaced. This took on avg. 6 weeks or more. I have had a condemned built in microwave that has been condemned by two separate repairman. It has been over two 9 weeks since initial claim, and I\'m out $167 of my own money and I still have no working microwave and I can\'t get ORHP to authorize replacement. "It\'s under review" has been the response for last three weeks. No one calls you back. Terrible company!!!! Rude people that could careless about your needs!
