Charge top dollar, but find any reason possible not to cover the appliance. Don’t waste your time or money. Save your money and replace it yourself. Rip off I regret purchasing the plan. Should be illegal

After reviewing comments I agree, this is not a company I would recommend to anyone. Also agree it is a fly by night enterprise. They have wasted my time and cost me two years in premiums. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Customer beware.

I signed up with Warranty Group two years ago, recently submitted two claims, both denied. For example they do not cover oil heated hot water heaters. They do not cover electronic components on air conditioners. Customer service is undoubtedly the worst I have ever experienced. I have used AON/The Warranty group since 2004 and had no problems with getting things repaired or replaced. I like the option that you can pick your own contractor and don't have to use their vendors if you don't want to. We had our roof repaired, water heater, hot tub and washing machine replaced without any problem. I have been overwhelmingly happy.

The company stated my hot water heater was improperly installed. The hot water heater split inside the tank and caused the heater to leak 40 gallons of water and some until the water was shut off by the home owner. The Warranty group will not honor the warranty because of the company Tri-State miss diagnosis. I know how to pay a real plumbing company 1300.00 to install a new hot water heater because the home warranty group does not want to send out for a second opinion. In this case all these companies are a waiste of money. sad but true. ..View less

I am truly disappointed with this home warranty company. I just renewed the warranty in Feb. 2015 and we had to file a claim for our plumbing. I had called several times to make sure the work would be covered and was assured all would be paid. They first authorized one amount but the work took longer and I was told to call back if we needed to get more time authorized. I called back and was told everything was fine and just let them know the total. I sent in the invoice and expected a check for the full amount. I received a check significantly less than what the repairs cost. When I called to check, I was told they will look into and call me back. I received this promise from several representatives but never received a call back. I called back today and was told they will not be covering what they approved and promised to cover. I requested a supervisor and was told it would take 2 days. I last spoke with Kenny and when I mentioned I will have to share my negative experience with others. Kenny said that he didn't care if I shared my negative experience and they didn't care about that. I strongly suggest going with another warranty group as this group doesn't care about the satisfaction of its customers and doesn't honor their promise. ..View less

I have always had good luck with this company. The phone reps are always nice. Some service providers are better than others but for the most part are solid. The coverage has easily paid for itself over the five years we've had it.

The customer service reps are ok. By no means go above and beyond but have been pleasant. They scheduled service tech on my most recent issue within 3 days and they have come to the conclusion that it should be replaced. Being a recently divorced mom of a 16 year old, I don't know what I would do without this... well yeah I do. I would be out a grand on a refrigerator/freezer; a couple of hundred bucks on a dishwasher and about $1700 for a gas range with downdraft. The only advice I would give anyone is KNOW THEE SPECS OF YOUR CURRENT APPLIANCE! On my gas range, they tried to replace it with one without a downdraft. Knowing this information allowed me to get a correct replacement which was about a $700 difference. I would recommend to ANYONE! ..View less

You really need to read the fine print. Yes, they cover alot of items, but not usually the items on the appliances that you need fixed. I have used them for over 6 years now, and I am finished.

Our dishwasher broke, they company they sent out to check it was rude and didn't even turn I their paperwork on the problem... A month later after countless phone calls, we were finally called back. The representative was rude and short with us when informing that they would replace it with a new unit. We came to an agreement about a model and date/ time of installation, but turns out it was a lie... The company just dropped it off and said there there was a 3rd party to install it.... And turns out that 3rd party had 48 hours to contact us for installation .... So now I have a dishwasher in a box sitting in my living room waiting to be hooked up 2 months from the date we called the warranty group to make a claim in the first place.... AND the installer was scheduled to come this afternoon and never showed up! No call! No NOTHING!!!!! we may have a new washer (in a box in my livingroom), but this insurance has done nothing to give us peace of mind!!!! Its a waste. ..View less

We had AC issues and the technician was completely incompetent and un-timley-- 2 lost days of work with no resolution to the AC problem. We had an independent AC company come out to address the problem. They were appalled when they saw what The Warranty Group recommended technician had done. The independent company fixed what they could and we have had working AC since. Of course, now that we've had an independent company work on the unit, it is no longer covered by The Warranty Group. There is no way I can recommend this company-- and we, of course, will not be renewing our contract with them. ..View less

They did not have any roofer in our area. They let us choose a roofer and reimbursed us promptly. The AC failed both times Friday evening in extremely hot weather. They did send a service guy Monday morning each time and he could fix the problem same day. Another time garage door failed and they said the specific problem (broken spring)was not covered. We got it fixed on our own. Overall, I think we have received reasonable service for the money paid (approx $600-700 per year with some options). If you are a first time home buyer, it is worth having a home warranty for a few years until you get familiar with the house and its problems and also get to know repair persons in your area. You will have someone to call. But one should not expect the company to take care of expensive or frequent repairs. ..View less
