    Review: We had paid 3 years of premiums without using the coverage but in August of 2013 our air conditioner system was not cooling, so we called. They sent the first company out who said something needed to be replaced, but Old Republic said it meant something would have to be taken apart to do that, so we'd have to pay for that. It still didn't cool well so they sent someone out who said something else needed replacing and the same run around about we had to pay for extra work/time. By this time we had paid two $75 deductibles and $420 in extra fees. It still had problems, so we called again and asked for a different company which they sent who said it would need something else and we had to pay part and the estimate for our part would be $800 plus we had already paid our 3rd $75 deductible. By the time all this had happened it was October and the weather was cooler. So with summertime looming we are looking to switch companies which is why I came to this website.

    Review: My A/C shut down so I submitted an online request for service. I was contacted in less than 24 hours by the service company. The company rep arrived a little earlier than the appointment time and went right after it. The rep was an excellent professional showing great care to not "mess" up our home as he conducted his inspections; and he had great people skills and personality to boot. He was very thorough, even to the point of calling a mentor to bounce ideas off of after narrowing down the issue to what he suspected. A/C was back up and running beautifully. An outstanding experience.

    Review: I have had AHS for many years and have always received high quality customer service and have never been disappointed in any of their service providers. / This occasion was no different; as I needed two (2) different providers and they were both dispatched to me within 24 hours and as of today the service has been completed to my total satifaction. / Again, I say in both instances the service was quick and they were both very knowledgeable.

    Review: AHS had one of their contracted vendors come out and install a new central a/c unit in our attic. It did not work properly and I had to call AHS over and over to get them to send the installer out repeatedly to fix it. Eventually water began to drip from the unit into our walls and ceiling. The original installer was rude to me on the phone and told me I needed a plumber even though the a/c unit was frozen solid and the water was clearly coming from the unit. After several weeks of phone calls, AHS sent a second vendor out who determined that the first vendor had installed the a/c unit off level and that the moisture was running "downhill" into the electrical side of the unit and overflowing and dripping into the ceiling and walls below. I called AHS again, and again and again. This went on for more than a month! Today I am in central Texas and it was over 100 degrees yesterday and I am still without a/c! They told me it has been marked as an emergency and that it had been "escalated" and that it was with the "resolution manager". They are apparently arguing with the original installer about who is responsible and who will pay. Meanwhile I am miserable and can't get ANYONE at AHS to help me! All I get is "We can't help you.We are just Customer Service. It is in the hands of vendor resolution." When I ask for that number they say they don't have any numbers to give me. NO ONE WILL HELP ME and I am without a/c for a month now!! NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON AHS!! YOU MAY SAVE A LITTLE MONEY, BUT YOU ARE AT THEIR MERCY AND WILL WAIT FOREVER AND EVER FOR THEM TO SEND PEOPLE OUT TO MAKE REPAIRS AND WHEN THEY DO THE VENDORS MAY BE SUB-PAR!!!!

    Review: We had Old Republic for about 3 Years and used the company whenever we had issues without complaint. Be careful if you use this company and actually use your coverage because they will drop you if you use them to much. What I mean by that is: Over the past 3 to 5 years we have paid $3,303.00 in Plan Fees and they Paid out 6,357.00 and they refused to continue coverage. I understand that the company is a business and has to make money but now everything is fixed and there hasn't been an issue in about a Year. ORHP would have recouped it's losses in the next 5 years but they were not interested in the long term only in the right now. So now we are looking for a new Home Warranty Company and now the new Company will be the ones that reap the benefits of everything ORHP has repaired. My wife and I both spoke with the Company to try and resolve this issue and keep our coverage but all they seemed to be worried about is making money and not about taking care of People. I hope this Review helps someone out there and keeps them from either using ORHP or lets them know what they are getting into.

    Review: I had discovered a leak under my kitchen sink and believed it was the garbage disposal. I went to the American Home Shield site and walked through the service request process and once completed, received immediate confirmation of my request. In addition, I was informed that I would be hearing from a service provider within the hour. In less than an hour, I received a call from Milburn Plumbing and we agreed on an appointment for the next day. At the appointed time the following day, Tony from Milburn Plumbing arrived and immediately diagnosed the issue; the garbage disposal was cracked and required replacement, which he accomplished in less than an hour. Tonly was friendly, courteous and professional. He explained everything he was doing and provided tips on maintenance going forward.

    Review: Our water heater went out on us. I got in touch with AHS and the representative was wonderful. It took about a week to get a technician to us, but that is understandable as we do not live in an urban area. Once the technician arrived, he went to work and we had hot water in no time!

    Review: Although I have been pleased with having AHS I can\'t understand why a 30+ year old AC unit that continually needs repairs cannot just be replaced. It it costing me more money to have AHS continued to patch the unit, I am discouraged that I have to wait until the unit completely breaks down beyond repair in order to be replaced.

    Review: I have been a long time AHS customer and have been extremely happy with the customer service, response time and the repair technicians we have had. We have had the same technician for a couple of our needs. I am pretty upset this year due to an increase in our rates, though, so I am considering polling the marketplace for better pricing. I\'ll miss my technician, but I am on fixed income and have to be cost conscious.

    Review: My water heater broke the day my newborn baby arrived at the house. We had no hot water and there was a possibility the water that leaked had damaged the wall. I called American Home Shield who understood the urgency and got someone that could come out first thing next morning, as well as walking me through how to shut-off the water to it and stop any further leakage. The contractors arrived on time to verify the damage and order the part. All ran extremely smoothly. Later the same month as luck would have it I had some leaking plumbing and again a contractor was sent out who hunted down the leak, identified it, returned with the parts and repaired it. It brings me great peace of mind to be insured by American Home Shield

    Review: AHS assigns contractors in a timely manner. The contractors call and get the appointments set up as soon as possible. I was very happy with the last plumbing company who repaired my sink. However, I would like to state that Mr. Rooter is a very dishonest company. They have misdiagnosed problems twice which would have been very costly and they have caused AHS to deny a claim. I would not recommend Mr. Rooter to anyone. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the name of the plumbing company who did an exceptional job. I have asked AHS to document in my file to NEVER send Mr. Rooter out again and they were also unprofessional.
