Review: We have used American Home Shield on several different appliances and also our heat pump. They have always sent professionals out within 24-48 hours and repairs have been made timely and always met our approval. We really appreciate the idea when something goes wrong we don\'t have to worry about finding a repairman because they take care of it for us. Our stove top could not be repaired so it was replaced. Great savings too us.

Review: Have been with ORHP for 9 years and even promoted them as a real estate agent years ago. They have gone downhill steadily lately - most recently - I placed a service request for refrigerator last Tuesday morning. I finally called the repair company Wednesday morning since I had heard nothing. Came Thursday morning and looked at the fridge, wrote up a report and took my check. I have checked in daily with ORHP to see what is going on- they were still waiting for a report from repairman - even today! When they fianlly called me saying they had the part request in (4 days after the first visit), they asked me to give a detailed description of the refrigerator - which is at home 40 minutes away. They won't order the part before I can give them that info. WHY DIDN'T THEY ASK FOR THIS during one of the other 4 calls I had placed with them???? THEN it will take another 7-10 business days to receive the part after which the delinquent repairman will have to schedule a visit. Getting a new home warranty company!

Review: This is my second appliance that has broken down since I\'ve been on this plan and AHS has been phenomenal!!!! Excellent customer service and prompt handling of my issues. I would recommend this company to anyone!!!!!

Review: I am always pleased with the service of AMS and their contractors. They complete the repairs as needed and in a timely manner. The contractors are friendly and knowledgeable. I have never had anyone come out who was not respectful and prompt.

Review: This is the ABSOLUTE WORST company on the face of the earth!! They gladly take your money & do NOTHING!!! Sure, small repairs seem to be no problem, but if a real issue arises, they are nowhere to be found. Scam business; how are they able to be so dishonest??? We have been without a/c for over 24 hours; it is August in Eastern North Carolina!!

Review: We have had AHS service for 16 years and have been pleased. Since we have made use of the service in the past, they are now dropping our contract because we used it too much! The cost has escalated quite a bit, particularly the co-pay. If you contract with this company, be prepared to get a replacement if you actually use the service.

    Thomas Martin Date: 2016-02-12 23:00:14

Review: My most recent experience with AHS and a contractor was a very professional and easy process. The contractor was on time and considerate of my time and provided excellent customer service. The AHS customer service representative called to check on the process and to ask if we needed any assistance or further service.

Review: I had my heater broke just at the time when a cold storm hit down south in an unusual season of Mid march 2017. I find out later in the evening that the temperatures have kept dropping on us, and went down to 55 deg(inside the house), so i went and checked the heater unit and it only blew cold air but not heated air. I called Old republic home protection to find out that no one can come out at 7 pm at night to take a look at what is going on(remember it was going to be 20 deg F later that night). Luckily we have electric heating system upstairs, and so, me, my wife, my parents and my 5 month old- boy all moved upstairs untill we find a solution to the issue. Next day 3 pm, the guy came out to take a look and said, "this is the only part we don\'t carry and will have to order it". They said, it would take 1-2 days for the part to come in, it ended up taking a full week before they came back and repaired that thing. Everytime i called them, they said, we cant do anything. Its in the order. They were not sensitive to any of the family situation that i was in . Also, the local guy that they gave contact off didn\'t inform me what was going on with the repair, i had to keep calling and ask them if the part is available or not. We had to go through that whole week of coldstorm with no heat at the first level. Thank god we had the 2nd level electric heating system, otherwise, it would have been a disaster. I am about to the point of renewal of my plan, and what realtor said at the time of buying the house, didnt stand true. I have to think on my decision of continuing with them or not.

Review: We are writing to express our satisfaction with our American Home Shield Contract. Every time we have had to use out contract, AHS has been there for us. The contractors you hire to do the repairs have always been prompt to response, knowledgeable, courteous, and made us feel that we were their only customer. Thanks you AHS.

Review: This company has been a nightmare from day one since we purchased our home warranty. They are unprofessional and lack any business ethic. They repeatedly messed up our work orders and did nothing to fix any of it. The entire experience has been awful. I do not recommend this warranty group for anything.

Review: Fast service fixing my shower drain leak, BUT AHS doesn\'t cover the damage the leak caused?

    Michele C Date: 2014-08-25 21:55:49

Review: I was very pleased with the contractor AHS recommended. He was actually early to the appointment, very courteous, fixed the problems with both tolites and left no mess behind. The only problem was setting up the initial appointment. When I contacted AHS, the records had my old phone number. I gave the individual I was speaking with my new phone number but that was not given to the contractor. After three days I recieved an e-mail from AHS stating the contractor was not able to get in touch with me to make the appointment. When I contacted the contractor I was told they had the old phone number.

Review: I have been very pleased. Reporting the needed service call on-line has worked great for me. They and the service providers have always met expectations.

    Cynthia Winters Date: 2017-07-19 15:16:22

Review: The technician was ahead of scheduled which was great because I had other appointments following that one. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything along the way. He fixed the problem we were having with our HVAC system. He was very efficient and courte. I would recommend American Home Shield to my friends and family.

Review: I had the AHS warranty for over a year and had 2 experiences with them. My Washer went out and it was 3 weeks before it was fixed. The service company basically replaced a panel and we had to hound them down to replace the part. Recently my kid came home from college and we realized our Hot Water heater wasn't able to handle 2 shower in use at the same time. I have 3 full baths at my house and have never experienced running out of hot water (50 Gallon Tank) . The service rep came out and said the Hot water heater is out of warranty and that it is not worth trying to repair a hot water heater that has a life span of 9-10 years and my heater is 8 years old. I said okay and waited for the new one to come in. However AHS declined the claim. I have had one claim in over a year, also I didn't request a new Heater only to have mine repaired. I'm not trying to discourage people from using AHS however it has been my experience they are complete an utter Joke. Its unfortunate but we had to find out the hard way that these type of companies are in it to make money. And by the way, we paid the service rep 60 $ to come out and say we need a new heater.

Review: They don't cover or cover very little of the most common problems in a house. What refrigerator in this day and time doesn't have an ice and water dispenser of course it would be the most common thing to need service, but nooo, you don't cover that. You only cover 10.00 per pound for freon, really!, when freon cost 40.00 per pound. I have paid you 60.00 a month for years, 75.00 a month just for someone to come out (on top of the monthly fee), then I have to pay for the freon. It would be cheaper for me to save the 60.00 a month i'm paying you and pay for my own repairs. That's 700.00 a year i'm paying you to say no to every service call, after i pay the service fee. This is a money making, rip off business for AHS. If you have the discipline to put the monthly fee aside for emergencies you would be a hell of a lot better off than letting AHS have your money for years of doing the very least whenthe time comes that you need them!!!

Review: still on hold for 24 minutes

    Michael Searcey Date: 2016-08-26 23:03:18

Review: Have had the policy for about 3 years and have had to use it a few times. Each time the service agent was prompt and clean and the work was performed in timely manner.Policy well worth cost.

    KATHRYN YURMAN Date: 2016-10-27 10:30:40

Review: It was very easy! Within a few hours of my call to AHS, the contractor called me and scheduled an appointment. On the apptmt day, he let me know when he was on his way and arrived on time. He worked quickly and the problem was fixed.

    Carol Date: 2013-09-26 19:20:59

Review: Have Old Republic coverage for three years now. Actively searching for new warranty company. Old Republic has intolerable wait times for service calls, are often unresponsive to promised follow up or return calls, and now wants to debate coverage for leaks which are covered under my plan. One employee cancelled an open work order without my consent, causing me to re-explain the entire issue. I have currently waited nearly 4 weeks and still have unresolved water issues, for which I have paid a premium. I have filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau, missed many hours from work to meet repairmen, and spent countless hours on the phone with this company. Do yourself a favor and keep looking elsewhere for your home warranty needs.
