Review: Hours that technicians are available were horrible. They wouldn’t give me an appointment after 3:30pm. Most people work in the day. When I spoke with the customer service rep about my work schedule she got smart and let me know they wasn’t going in to pay extra because Of my schedule and I had to take a vacation day. I WAS NOT HAPPY
Review: Our refrigerator started leaking and water covered much of the kitchen, and leaked into the basement and garage. AHS called us very quickly and told us to turn off the water to the frig. A repairman came out and quickly found the problem, a broken valve. He had a replacement valve in his truck and fixed the problem. He was efficient, friendly and gave us some good tips. We are very pleased with the service.
Review: I contacted AHS when I had a problem with a clogged drain. My experience was great from the time I talked to the customer service representative explaing the problem. The representative was very courteous and took my information to pass on the information to a contractor to do the work. Turn around time from my initial contact to having the service company call me to make the arrangements was done in a timely fashion. I was pleased with the work done by the service tech. He was on time and very courteous and was very knowledgeable about what needed to be done to fix my problem.
Review: The HVAC technician explained the problem and the need for an updated system. American Home Shield work with the HVAC company to provide the equipment, arrange for the installation, and cover the expenses for parts and labor. I am very satisfiied!
Review: Bottom line I have learned - never buy home Warranty again - simply because they don\'t work when you absolutely need. I had Choice & AHS - in both the cases they failed to come to rescue when needed and I ended up paying out of pocket in both cases. (on top of the monthly premiums and deductible) - I have learned a lesson hard way, I am now going to carve out portion of $$ as emergency funds for (2k-5k) for emergency fixes if they arise.at least I have peace of mind getting it fixed right then and there by just calling home depot or any emergency service available in area (Home depot did a excellent job in installing my water heater in 24 hrs)
Review: I truly don't know how American Home Shield got an approval rating at all because this is, by far, the WORST home warranty company I've ever dealt with. They are liars! They lied to me about my parts delivery and continue to give me the run around as to when my repair will happen. I'm waiting on parts for an AC repair, which should be an easy fix, yet they have given me a new delivery date every time I call for a status update and they even blamed the contracted company for the delay. Meanwhile I'm living in a house that's over 100 degrees. I'm a branding new customer and they are doing nothing to satisfy the customer. I want out of my contract because I can't stomach the thought of paying this company my hard-earned money for work that I know will never be done or done in a timely manner.
Review: We have had AHS for over 25 years, never any issues with service or contractors. Requested service on line, very easily done. Our AC was totally replaced 2 times over the years and we only paid the service charge plus a small up grade due to City Codes. Currently we have 2 policies @ 2 different addresses. We will continue to use AHS as we don\'t anticipate any issues in the future. Thanks,
Review: I will NEVER use this warranty again for myself or any of my real estate clients. After hearing horror stories from clients, I decided to use them on my own property just to see if it was really as bad as I\'d heard. Yep. Multiple trips to my house to fix the same plumbing issue (which, by the way, still isn\'t fixed) - nobody spoke English, nobody fixed the problem, and the last company that was called out was supposed to have a camera to be able to scope the plumbing (which was the whole reason that specific vendor was called out anyways) and they didn\'t have one!! HORRIBLE service. Why would I pay another $75 fee to have someone who doesn\'t know why they\'re doing to come out and pretend to fix my issues again? Absolutely not. Even right now, I have a client who\'s been without air conditioning in the summer for almost 2 MONTHS because nobody from AHS is able or willing to fix her problem, apparently.
Review: Because I live on an Island, the American Home Shield service had a big job this past service call. My hot water heater had rusted out and finding a plumber was very hard. But I was very impressed with AHS and their persistence, after a few calls over 6 days they finally located a plumbing company that could come out to my place. The water heater was replaced with no further hassle and I really respect the company for the way they handled the whole problem. To me that shows their worth. It's the hard problems, the persistence, the willingness to go the extra mile, that shows a company's worth.
Review: Would not recommend AHS - poor communication-poor response time - Placed a call on a Friday morning as our water heater quit working. Received a call later that day from a company that only repairs air conditioners. Called AHS and they said someone would be contacting us. Received a call from an actual water heater company and they scheduled Monday. Their review was replacement for a new electric water heater. AHS contacted me and scheduled the replacement for Wednesday. Took off a day of work, and when contacting vendor that afternoon, they said they did NOT have us scheduled, waiting for AHS to approve?? I had previously spoke with AHS who said they were coming out on Wednesday. Now it is Thursaday, and waiting for the repairman. If there was a problem getting the electric water heater, someone from AHS should have contacted us - very, very aggravating and now am being told we would need to pay $100 for removal of water heater and $75 in addition to the service call for a drip water pan (which costs $20). Did receive a call from AHS after a compaint by e-mail, but only remarked they were sorry. Have been with AHS for over 10 years, and am truly disappointed and from reading other comments from the BBB and word of mouth from local appliance dealers will be looking for another home warranty company.
Review: Our service call was about a clogged shower drain. The contractor told us it was due to tree roots and would cost $6,000 to remove and repair. We have a plumber friend who came over to provide a second opinion. There was a simple hair clog. The AHS contractor basically attempted a criminal act. We reported the contractor to AHS immediately. All other AHS contractors we have dealt with have been, as far as we know, honest and fair.
Review: When my Garbage Disposal stop working it only took just a few once I call the AHS company. They called the next day setup a appointment within the next few days and they showed up early and the service tech was clean the very professional and my new Garbage Disposal was replaced in minutes.
Review: I love the customer service and the repair service is outstanding!
Review: Do NOT buy appliances at Lowes and definitely do not get the warranty. They WILL NOT repair your items, just give you the run around. I\'ve been trying to get my refrigerator\'s ice maker repaired for about 7 weeks now with zero progress. This is the second time is has failed in less than a year. The service company diagnosed the problem and decided we need a new ice maker. They said they\'d order the parts, then install them once they were in. That was over a month ago. I called the company (Carmichael Appliance) two weeks after the original service call and they hadn\'t even ordered the parts. In fact, they closed out my service case completely without doing any work. Called Lowes and started over. Carmichael appliance was scheduled for the next day. Took the day off work, but no one showed. Finally got a hold of Carmichael and they said they were waiting on parts. A week goes by, no uodate. Carmichael Appliance stops responding to my calls. I contact Lowes several times over the next couple weeks and finally discover that one of the part numbers was entered incorrectly. Hence it would never come in and they\'d simply wait on it forever with no updates. Now I\'m told that it will take another week to check on the correct part number. There has been no effort by Lowes to correct this issue. I will never do business with them again. I expect I will continue to have a broken refrigerator until I buy another. It\'s a Frigidaire Gallery and it\'s complete junk.
Review: Customer service is great WHEN you can get to them I have waited on line 45 minutes and 30 minutes is not unusual They definitely need more help in Customer Service to answer your CUSTOMERS calls
Review: It is not surprising to me now that I have researched this company, old republic home warranty, on how there are so many negative reviews on their guarantees and services. Here is the breakdown with my new home. I purchased and officially moved in on November 25th 2018. quite a lot of hiccups that were unexpected with the home, however I purchased a home warranty to ensure anything major would be covered, taking care of in a timely manner, and assurance that if there\'s any future issues the warranty company would make sure it was resolved. On December 12th 2018, I did not have any hot water anywhere in the house. After four visits by the same provider, including installing a new hot water tank, it is now January 15th 2019 and I still have not one drop of hot water. Holiday season was awesome! Every time I report this issue there is no follow-up, it takes forever for the provider to get to the job, and I constantly have to call in and beg these people to understand how hard it is to not have hot water. Let\'s try taking a shower, washing dishes, doing the laundry among the many inconveniences I\'ve had in over a month! It gets much better, on January 8th 2019, I reported I had no heat. It turned out that my fuel tank was low so I cancelled the technician coming as I thought that would resolve the issue. On January 9th I called back and inform them I still didn\'t have any heat after doing countless measures to address the issue myself. Absolutely no resolution other than a whole week before anyone could get here, while here in Ohio we were at 19 degrees! The resolution was you need to pay out of pocket and get someone there so you have heat on Friday January 12th. I was assured I would be reimbursed and "taken care of" and still not one word on getting reimbursed. I told the lady I only had $200 for the week and she said go and get someone for $150 and we\'ll take care of you. Do you think that\'s what I can say to the people in my household that I can\'t make dinner for? Do you think if anyone at this company did not have hot water or heat would be sitting around waiting for someone to come and fix it? Pretty sure they\'d have it done right away! At this point I have absolutely no faith in old republic as a warranty company for any home! I dispatched I had no hot water again on Monday Jan 14 after not being able to reach the 800 line and still don\'t even have a call from a provider to set up an appointment at 630 pm on January 15th! Absolutely inhumane to any of its customers. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They are inconsiderate, rude, passive-aggressive, and manipulative to anyone\'s issues so they don\'t have to be bothered.
Review: A good experience. Contractor arrived on time, checked all systems to ensure they were working properly, and cleaned up after themselves throughout the visit. Appeared to be a blockage in the drain system.
Review: Their customer service is HORRIBLE!! I literally called for over 2 hours to get to talk to someone about getting our central air unit fixed. After being on hold 2-3 times for over 15 min and hanging up I was determined to stay on the line this next time. I just put the phone on speaker and laid it down. After 45 min and still no customer service I dialed in on my husband\'s phone as well. I laid his down on the table as well and it was still another 30 minutes before I spoke to someone. The company they sent was great. The repairman was wonderful. After he diagnosed the problem he had to call them to get approval for repair. AGAIN, he sat on the phone on hold for over 45 min. They even tried to tell him that his time spent waiting on them was not going to be covered for his wages! Even though he was still at our house. After the work was all done, on another day, because it was going to be overtime for our repairman we paid our deductible and assumed we were done. They sent at least 2 letters and multiple emails telling me that my deductible needed to be paid to THEM. It took me getting a copy of the cancelled check and mailing it to them. I am glad the repair was covered, but I would NOT recommend this company to anyone else. I\'ve been investigating the other ones out there.
Review: My most recent experience was actually very good. The serviceman was very timely and knew exactly what was wrong with my unit and he had it working in no time. Iwasreally impressed with him and the level of his expertise.
Review: It would be nice if you had a payment option that your customer could pay semi-annual not just monthly, quarterly and annually. Personally I prefer to pay my insurance semi-annually. Other tha you payment schedule I am pleased with your service.
