Lowe\'s Extended Warranty is such nightmare it is difficult to comprehend just how bad it is. This time it started with the consistently 2 hour wait on hold to get a person on the 888-77LOWES number. They schedule a random third party to come out. First one did not even wait for a washing machine cycle to finish, didn\'t look at any codes, he did nothing. Then says; "can't throw parts at it, next time make it happen before we get here". He was literally in and out within 15 minutes. So, I go on another TWO HOUR HOLD to schedule another service call, 2 weeks out. This nice man checks codes etc. he says he could see all kinds of errors, so he'll order some parts. Could be a month for parts to arrive. Someone should call but we can call the 888 number for status in a month. Today we got an email from Lowe's informing us they want to charge us $571.91 for the service. The washing machine cost $600 brand new.

I called on a Sunday for assistance because I did not have heat in my house. AHS responded promptly, telling me that the service company would contact me within 24 business hours. The service company responded first thing Monday AM. I had a technician at my house on Monday afternoon. He thought that he had corrected the problem with a minor repair; but after he left, the problem continued. He returned the same day and determined that it was a larger problem. He apologized and ordered the new part. He followed up on the part and called on Wednesday when he had received the part. He returned, installed the new part, and remained at our house to ensure that the problem was corrected. He was courteous, technical proficient, and willing to do whatever it took to solve the problem. This is the kind of service and warranty protection that I appreciate.

I was very pleased with the service company, however I was highly displeased with the service, or lack of, I received from AHS. I had to call to speak to someone about my problem and waited one hour and 16 minutes on hold, which in and of itself is ridiculous. Once I got a representative on the phone, she verified my account and my phone number. We spoke for a minute then she said she had to put me on hold to check something. I was not rude or aggressive. I was frustrated, but was in no way taking it out on the representative. While I was on hold the call got disconnected. It wasn't on my end because I was on a land line at work. I thought since she had my phone number she would call me back, but that never happened ... after I waited AN HOUR AND 16 MINUTES TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE!! At that point I was exasperated, but I needed to speak to someone so I called back. After waiting on hold for a second time for an hour and 28 minutes I eventually had to hang up because I needed to leave work. Ultimately I wasted two hours and 45 minutes of my life waiting on hold to speak to someone at AHS and it never really happened. I consider that highly unacceptable.

The plumber who came out originally misdiagnosed the problem causing my leak, but he was very kind and courteous and both he and AHS acted very polite and professional about returning to my home to reevaluate the problem. This is what set apart my experience; anyone can make a mistake but not everyone can handle it so graciously!

Gave AHS all the information on plumbing problem on a Monday. The plumber they contracted could not come out until the following Thursday. Then the plumber called on Thursday and said they couldn't come until Monday. Canceled that plumber and AHS scheduled a different plumber who also could not come out until the following Monday. AHS did NOT include the item that needed to be replaced in the service request. The plumber would not make the repair since it wasn't in the service order. AHS stated they did not know if the part was covered although it was clearly stated in the contract that the part is covered. Had to schedule another visit from the plumber who could not come until the following Friday! I spent over an hour on "hold" trying to reach AHS every time I called. AHS Customer service is terrible. I have 3 homes under AHS warranties and due for renewal in two months. Going to be shopping for a different warranty company. I rarely -- if ever -- have a claim on any of the properties but not worth the "hassle" trying to deal with the incompetence of AHS employees.

I have had AHS for almost 20 yrs and 4 different houses. Each passing year the service gets worse. Today, my hvac is out, so I called for repairs. There are 2 previous vendors that have been extremely sub par in their performance, attitude and ability. I have told AHS not to assign them to me as I won't have them on my property again. Of course, they placed the call with one of them,. I asked for a rep and was told I could not reschedule as it was in my contract that I had just refused service and they did not have to reassign another company until I called back tomorrow. I asked for a supervisor and was told why, they'll just tell you the same thing. I asked for a supervisor and was told they are busy and will call you at their convenience. I just happened to have my contract out anyway and read it. there is no clause about refusing service and not being able to place another service call the same day. three hours later AND I'M STILL WAITING FOR A CALL FROM A SUPERVISOR. WHAT GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!

My pool heater stopped working. I called to schedule service and the representative understood what I needed and I understood her. By the end of the day I was contacted by the pool company and a time was set which was two days later and was acceptable to me. The serviceman called me in the morning to advise me of his schedule and he showed up within the time period. After replacing the part that was thought to be the problem (it was broken), the heater would still not ignite and he found another burned out part. He had the part on his truck, put it in and the heater started. / / Everything from my original call for service to the completion of the job worked as I would have expected.

Phone wait time to talk with somebody is never less than 30 minutes. They do not keep accurate records on problems, complaints and resolutions. Overall 75% of the times I have called there was a problem associated with the service or lack of. Even when they resolve a problem it still remains on your record so the next time you call for service they will not respond because they have not removed the previous issue that was SUPPOSE to have been solved.

I've had AHS for almost 3 years and I've had to use them a few times, and was overall satisfied with the service. For the price that we pay and I am now comparing them to others - the Freon policy is VERY DISAPPOINTING. Only covering $10 of Freon cost is absurd and other companies are covering, if not all, majority of the cost. So I'm left paying $70 p/pound. I'm definitely evaluating other companies to determine if I'll stay with AHS.

Our hot water heater went out,and we called customer service.They found a contractor,and told us he would be here the next day to take care of the problem. He and his men arrived about 7 p.m as they had been making other calls in the area . He said they had everything they needed and it wouldn't take that long,They were amazing,one took care of the old water heater,while the other two brought in the new one "after putting down cardboard to protect my carpet ," They were finished and gone in an hour,taking the old water heater with them. Needless to say I am a very pleased customer.

our 14 year old dishwasher was not getting our dishes clean, so we opened a call with AHS for a repair. the contractor, whom we had worked with before on our washer, came to the house, assessed the dishwasher and it's needs, ordered the parts and returned as promised the following week, and installed them. now the dishwasher works like new. all promises made were kept, contractor was clean, was a fine worker, and made us feel very comfortable about what he was doing.

Have been a client of American Home Shield for many years. During the coldest week of this year my Central Heat and Air unit stopped working - Contacted AHS online notifying them of the problem and they immediately dispatched a work order to GreenWay Home Services. GreenWay actually contacted me within 4 hours after my initial call to AHS even though contracted to call within 24 hrs and dispatched a Technician - The Technician diagnosed my problem and made the necessary repairs - Results not only solved my immediate problem, but with the repair in early January resulted in a reduction in my Electric Bill for the month, the January bill was less than my December bill which wasn't as cold, unit evidently had not been functioning efficiently for a while - Unit working great during this coldest time of year, a Win / Win scenario for me Thanks to AHS and GreenWay Home Services and Technician Kevin Johnson - Not sure why a Home Owner would not have such a Home Warranty Service for their home and family security and peace of mind - With such confidence and trust in this organization I know that I can count on American Home Shield to protect my home from the beginning to the end / resolution of a problem and also know that in the event of my absence traveling, etc., my family members know to contact American Home Shield immediately for any problems that may arise.
